Once again good info. Like you touched on several times keep the communication open with your agent because you don’t want anything to be overlooked. I will add this about Work Comp because I see this often and could be costly if caught in an audit. If a Company is hiring a sub-contractor to do work and that sub-contractor only works for that ONE Company you are not viewed as a sub-contractor you are viewed as an employee. This could lead to additional work Comp premiums needing to be paid along with paying W2 income taxes.
Good video however one thing to note most general liability does not cover snow plowing you have to make sure you have the special endorsement for it. A lot of people think they have snow coverage but they really don’t. It’s the same situation typically with herbicide or lawn applications. A normal general liability does not cover lawn care treatments, you have to have the special endorsement.

Good stuff Brian. My agent said with Commercial Snow Plow insurance for my Plow truck, if the Plow is not hooked to the truck and it is damaged, the policy won't cover the damage to the Plow. They said I needed to purchase coverage for the Plow specifically if I wanted it covered while not attached to the truck. ( such as a tree falls on it etc) Similar with my mowers . All plows , mowers and Sanders are insured since they are mostly brand new with low hours.

This is my first year in lawn/landscaping and im also offering snow removal too. Crazy thing happened. I live in ky and I actually had 2 walmarts in my area request me to do their snow removal. Once we sign the contract we're locked in for 3 years. I also get preferred status so if there's any other jobs i will get first dibs at them. I also have strip mall too! Pretty exciting!! Last year we had a ditch witch sk750 burn to the ground. It was insured and that weekend we found an sk1050 for less then we got from insurance, got a nice upgrade.
One thing I never see discussed on Lawn Care channels is Healthcare. Pretty much every aspect of the business is covered except Healthcare. Could you possibly make a video on that topic ?
So when I was going over the business insurance of the company I took over, I realized the former owner did not have proper snow plow coverage for about 26 years. Im legal/documented now with a sweet set up!

Hummm🤔 I live in the country and have a plow on my truck all winter to do my own driveway and leave it on all winter long wonder if my insurance would still cover my truck if I was to get in a crash in the winter with my plow on it or if they would try and fight it thinking I was out plowing snow as a side hustle
Honesty is the best policy. Perhaps they can write it up for limited use / farm / home use. Might not cost you much and at least it and the truck are protected.
