Thank you all for sharing your suggestions recently, it helps me out so much!!! That being said, I’ve got a lot of comments regarding the background music. Some love it, some hate it. Trying to find a middle ground, so I lowered the volume for this video :) Please share your opinions!
I live in the UK and one thing that always amazes me is the amount of people in the US who go out into the forests completely unarmed. If we had the right to carry over here I'd never go out camping or hiking without packing heat.
Even though I live in the UK too, I'd still be bringing a hammer and plenty sharp objects with me! Never been camping in the middle of a forest cause I know crazy shit like this happens one way or the other 😅 I'd rather not risk my life but if one day I had to, I'm sure if I'm in the forest overnight I'm allowed to pack every weapon I own with me👀
I was born in Southern Utah & raised by my Dad who was an avidly professional outdoorsman. He conquered everything from hunting, hiking, camping, fishing, cave & ancient ruin exploration, metal detecting and scuba diving just to name a few. He even got a river guide license for white water rafting so we could take trips down the Colorado & the San Juan as often as we wanted just as a family. I can hardly think of a weekend we spent indoors - from Snow Canyon NP, Zion NP, Narrows, Subway, Bryce Canyon, the Henries, Petrified Forrest, Devils Rock Garden, Lake Powell to our families old cabin atop the 50 mile mountain. We were literally outdoors for the majority of my upbringing. That being said, when I tell you there are things out there that we humans are incapable of understanding...let's just say I have my fair share of stories. Between my 3 brothers & I we could definitely start our own strange, chilling & unexplained storytelling platform. For now, stay safe out there, always carry some form of protection, keep an open mind, never disregard your instincts but above all never underestimate the great outdoors.
My FN FNX .45 or Springfield Operator 1911 with rail. Both can mount a weapon light underneath and I use a Streamlight TLR-1 1,000 lumen light with appropriate holsters for pistol and light. The FNX carries 15 rounds so I would take 2 loaded spares for 46 rounds with one in the chamber. My preferred pistol is a nicely tuned 1911, so I'd use Wilson Combat 8 round mags for the one in the pistol, and using soft elastic mag pouches can carry 2x 10 round single stack mags per pouch so I can pack 20 rounds per pouch. 2 Pouches=40 rounds and 9 in the pistol =49 rounds. If I were camping with my GF and two guys were outside claiming to be in a nearby tent, I'd pull out my pistol and light them up with the pistol light. Can I help you? Yeah, I've got a .45 and the safety is off. Can I help you?
Good stories! There are strange people lurking in the forests in the US. It is so massive and wild compared to here, and I've heard there are Feral men living in there who are known to threaten backpackers 😱😱😱 I remember being scared when sleeping in the back of my van, in the Lake District and I heard someone outside and pushing on the van doors. I couldn't move I was so scared , then I decided to sneak a peak through the rear window, and there was a large sheep (with an itchy bum)🤣
Borestone Mountain in Maine is a remote hike and has 130 stone stairs to help ascend a part of it. Appalachian Trail helpers but them with HAND TOOLS. Imagine
Strangers do not approach your tent to say hello. This should be a red flag for anyone . Thanks for the great stories buddy . You are really good narrator . These are nice to listen to in my headphones before falling asleep .
@@matthewtaylor386yea if only we happen to bump into each other accidentally. Otherwise mostly people without bad intentions will want to mind their business unless there's any cause of distress.
The amount of people who hike parts or even all of the PCT is insane I’ve heard some super sketchy stories. I’m from and live in California have mountains in every direction as we live in a valley. Beautiful, but I’d be prepared in every way.
In all these woods stories there's no animals in them and why is there's some many evil peoples out there's in the woods justs laying out there's and waiting.
Good stories - I hike in the middle of nowhere often alone since no one really wants to go and it doesn't stop me from going. I bring a .44 mag and bear spray (my more feared possible encounter being an aggressive black bear). Honestly, it hardly crosses my mind ever meeting up with someone who has bad intentions. Most of the hiking community is friendly, but if there were anyone with bad intentions, I would think seeing a large frame .44 mag Ruger Redhawk in a chest holster setup probably makes them keep on walking - or outright hide, LOL.
Right!? So many of these stories have ppl going around solo with no protection. I plan to get a larger firearm but for now my Ruger .380 with hollow points will have to do. 🤷🏾♀️
@@eyecomeinpeace2707 yeah because being able to defend yourself and your loved ones is creepy and you should just let the crazies do what they want to you. 🙄😑😒🤦🏾♀️
@@bradstyles4327 I understand what you're saying, because Mr. Nightmare is my favorite creepy pasta narrator as well, but Whispered Diaries and a few other narrators are doing a fantastic job.
@@pamm5287 yeah rit but you can compare him to swamp dweller, mortis media or maybe darkness prevails but not Mr Nightmare..that dude is like God father of all horror stories channels..I mean like 90% of those channels exist just because of him
These stories camping ones, yeah never go alone! There are far too many stories of actual people who were hunted, murdered just very scary now a days to be alone that far from help, including medical help. So please don’t be alone and if ever get freaked out by someone listen to your gut and remove yourself from the situation 🙏🏼 I don’t want to listen to these stories BUT I’m literally hooked and I don’t camp anymore haha. But seriously you can never know what horrors that have been proven to happen. Stay safe guys 🙏🏼💯
Amen. It's not safe to be alone in an isolated area. There's just way too many nuts & pervs who hang out in isolated areas just waiting for victims. When I was young, my dad had a campground with a huge area of woods surrounding it. I used to think nothing of going off by myself. Now, after a few bad experiences, I'd NEVER go out there alone, even fully armed.
I have mold poisoning and the only cure is to go out camping in desolate places. I’m dreading it frankly. Everyone says it’s fine but I know better. The world’s different now.
You have to be able to protect yourself no matter where you are. Rather than regretting being caught off guard, don't ever be an easy victim there's preditors everywhere!
Good tempo, tone, timbre and style bro. Don’t give up whatever you do. Stick at it and you’ll succeed, I’m sure. It’ll be a grind, because RU-vid, but you’re definitely good enough to do this as a well paid job. eg. Let’s Read ain’t way out ahead of you in ability!
I couldn’t get into let’s read myself, as his narration style is just not for me, so I’m super stoked to have just discovered whispered diaries. Wishing him much success in this crazy world called RU-vid
I’m super late to the party, as usual, and just discovered your channel. Can’t wait to binge, which will take me awhile, as I use these stories specifically as a sleeping pill of sorts. Camping horror stories are top tier, especially when well narrated. Great channel, WD!
The old man from story #2 probably would have robbed the guy on the trail, but he changed plans once he learned the hiker didn't have his wallet with him.
I was hoping someone had the answer to that question, and sure enough, the comments didn't disappoint. Makes perfect sense. He hands him a wallet and if he pulls out his own to prove it's not his, the guy robs him.
Such a scary encounter... sasquatch and ghost don't stalk and kill, unlike psycho killer...it is always the man who should be fear and not some imagination.
I can't believe I've nearly binged every single video you've done lol, keep up the great work. I reckon 2023 has got good things in store for you and your channel 😊😊
Scariest incident in my life occured in Berliner park in Columbus Ohio. What happened could only be described as fate. It was something out of a movie and makes me a believer in some higher power/sense. My eyes, due to how scary it was, get teary eyed thinking about it . Stay safe out there
I heard a story where a girl was about to get raped but because she called out to Mother Mary or had a rosary on or something (I forgot), the man was on her and then he looked behind her and freaked out and ran away. She turned around and nothing was there but she believes Mother Mary rescued her. Another story about a gir who prayed the Rosary and Ted bundy couldn't physically get through her door. Oh yeah... Jesus is real and so is his mother.
I live in 🏴. I've been camping once in a farmers field that had a shower room and toilets on site. Not exactly the Pine Barrens or the Appalachian Trail. The only thing that invaded my space was a wandering dairy cow. Camping is not for me ...BUT I LOVE CREEPY CAMPING STORIES. ❤️
It is better to have a pocket knife and a fighting chance, then *no* pocket knife and *no* chance at all. There was a hiker in Alaska who got attacked by a bear, and he managed to stab the bear with a 5 inch fixed blade in its throat several times, and the bear died, and he survived. The will to survive can go a long way.
@@TPS_Report Better than nothing, but in the US firearms are allowed, so I am surprised one would chose a pocket knife. I would not go camping alone, and if I absolutely had to I would have made sure i was armed to the teeth.
Oh yeah. A small pocket knife. That will do the trick. Carry a large camping knife like a Tops 107C Steel Eagle. Large enough to reach out, can slash, stab, block, or parry. I have that but prefer my Slysteel Spectre Combat Survival Knife. Good belly on it. Very sharp. Slashes very well, will be easily fatal if stabbed all the way through with a 9 inch blade. Can chop an arm or a head off. Or carry a tomahawk. Great camp chore tool for chopping branches, hammering tent pegs, chopping firewood. Is a ferocious close combat weapon. Can slash and chop, block, reverse swing with thr spike end to pierce. Can trap and hook. Just a wicked weapon. Lots of troops in Afghanistan carried a tomahawk and it instilled greater fear in the enemy than a rifle.
As always, you did a great job with this video. You can tell that you enjoy what your doing and you put your all into it. Keep up the great work. It’s always nice to see your uploads when I open up RU-vid 👍🏼👏🏼
Pretty sure the wallet trick is to insist it’s their wallet, then the person will pull out their wallet and be like “No, see, this is my wallet,” and then the guy would snatch it
That's a good way to think of it, I thought it would be an end goal type of thing so that if he failed in a later robbery with that guy then he could make a scene all like "HE STOLE MY WALLET!"
That makes sense. Honestly I just assumed the wallet was one he'd taken from a victim of whatever it is he does, and he'd taken all the cash and cards etc and wanted to get rid of the remaining evidence by forcing the random hiker to take it. But then when he demanded it back I was like hmm that doesn't make sense.
The couple in the first story is a good example of what can happen when you're not on point. The red flags were already there from the start. Stuff like that gives us CREEPS ample opportunity. Coming from CREEPY LARRY I encourage the rest of yall to not pay attention to your surroundings. Give me better opportunities to CREEP. CREEP CREEP CREEP
One morning I was coming to my car which was parked on the street in San Jose. As I came up the sidewalk, I saw a man crouched by the driver’s door of my car; he had a tool in his hand, trying to unlock the door. A woman stood by him and they had a large suitcase on the sidewalk. I got almost to my car and walked fast to the passenger side, unlocked the car with my key, and scooted into the driver’s seat. I turned the car on and drive off to work!
These are great. Your narration is comparable to Mr. Nightmare. It is difficult to find someone who has a good narrating style. Keep these up, please. Love the channel!
love this stories, never heard them before, also like your voice. About the background music and effects,it was all good n.n keep up the good work, new sub! hope u get some halloween stories too! 🤩
"You dropped your wallet." Do not let him come close. Back up a few steps. Do not let him be close enough to bum rush and bear hug you and knock you onto the ground. Now, if you are armed, it's time to reach and put your hand on it, ready to unholster and turn to a bladed stance to fight or flight. If he insists on giving it to you, DO NOT LET HIM GET CLOSE--- BACK UP A FEW STEPS, "Thank you. Put it on the ground and back up, turn around, and I'll pick it up." Many times, being paranoid and affecting a much more tactically aggressive response may cause the predator to think......"hhhmmmm, he is pretty paranoid. Maybe he isn't the soft target i had thought." The purpose of the wallet is to make you think he is harmless as he acted "honest" enough to return a wallet. And you've dealt with him before, so your guard is lowered.

This channel is now one of my favs! I have watched about 7 of your vids so far and every story you have read is new to me. Love it! Keep up the good work!
We went to adventure land once and the people in the van was so excited about being there they completely forgot to close their sliding door on their van so we closed it for them before we went into the amusement park.
I say it all the time , preparation is golden. When hiking , 2 fast dogs are needed for distraction purposes. A small concealed 9mm , bear spray, a folding knife and full tang knife. And plenty bright but small lights... both headlamps and hand held . Distraction using the dogs and very bright lights can help you get away without hurting anyone. But just in case, the bear spray and 9mm is insurance. Be prepared family. Doesn't hurt to be a little overprepared ...
I live in Arizona and RV full time, i always conceal carry and carry pepper spray as a non lethal option, also a powerful small headlamp with an extra battery and a Victorinox knife. You don't know how much these tools have saved me from troubles.
I think if you ever go camping, bring a couple of extra tents to set up. They don't have to be big ones. I used to go camping with friends in my younger days, and this was my plan if I ever planned to go alone. Also, motion detecting lights facing outwards from the camping site. If a criminal saw a single small tent, then it's probably safe to assume one or two ppl. But if they saw two or three tents, then it would seem like a minimum of two or three ppl, up to 9.
I’ve been hiking and camping a lot and I know a few places were your not allowed to carry a gun for legal reasons but come on man!!! At least bring a big knife or hunting knife. Most of the people here don’t have nothing to protect themselves. Plus if your going camping shouldn’t these people expect to also bring protection in case you know an animal attacks you like a bear or wolf. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I keep a machete in my trunk, and a camel backpack with a flint and steel in a pocket, it’s my “hiking equipment”. I don’t hike, I keep a machete in my trunk.
A pocket knife a good flashlight bootlaces handkerchiefs and a good solid walking stick around 5 foot long and I always have a small pocket size firestarter and a belt these few small things can help you survive and the walking stick is a valuable weapon if needed
Story 1. What was the purpose of the car door? I can't think of anything besides airing out the car if the old man died in there but if that is the case why not use the windows? The windows would be a better option because it wouldn't have drawn attention
Excellent tales, thank you. I wonder if in the first one, his subconscious mind woke him to use the bathroom and the two of them being awake and ready to go disturbed their plans? The old man was alone and since he was not heard of again, it could be robbery was not their main objective.
That’s why I always carrying 2 tactical pocket knives,1 in my pocket and one in my water backpack. And guaranteed safety with 6th sense,I present you my intimidating black fur best friend,SLASH!! He’ll to chew your ass off if bad guy with bad vibes come at me. Cautious people and stay safe.
OMG i think America is not really a safe country.. So many unspeakable things always happen in the US..Don't go hiking or camping alone in the forest or just the 2 of you. You don't know which phsyco killer is lurking waiting to assault you or worse still murder you.. Better safe than sorry..
Always carry a Personal Locator Beacon and a weapon, preferably a pistol. A pistol on your belt for all to see and a concealed pistol. If someone gets the drop on you and takes your visible weapon, they won't think you'll have another. It may just save your life. A pocketknife is pretty much useless. Or just don't go. Common sense.
I'm not into camping, but if I were to venture into some remote region and spend the night with only a thin layer of tent fabric between myself and whatever wild creatures may be roaming the area, some of them being the two legged type, no way in hell I would be unarmed.
