My first tag was basically my legit name lmao. Since then tho gone through a few names but picked mine after a video game character named Vile. At that point tho I stopped caring about graff and was inactive for years until winter 2020 when I met with my sensei who taught me hand styles and gave me the blessing to push the big boi crew now that I'm grown up, told me its a tough name cause it also sounds like "vial" aka a crack pipe lol now I went from tags to bombing to making characters to just appreciating the art form in general and having fun instead of obsessing over my ups or who's up just do your thing homies! Stay up!

Vial isn’t a name used for crack pipes like stems (love roses.) Vials are little tubes with a cap that crack is commonly sold in.

my first tag, was my nickname "clair" and since i am a beginner and still learning the "R" looked like a "B" so everyone continued saying "but, you wrote claib" and i used to get jokingly angry about it, but one day i playfully started tagging "clab" and my tag has now became that lmao

My first tag was "TRXSTER" But it was too long imo, but after 3 months of Skateboarding I start to realize that I always lose in every Game of Skate, so that's why I got a name called "SKAT" or "SKATONE", basically it's a word after the last trick attempt on a Game of Skate!

My tag is "HAÎKU" which is a kind of japanese short poem with specific metrical rules. before getting into graffiti I used to write those really short phrases or poems (my aim was to make people reflect or just tell jokes) on all sort of things. When I got into tagging, i just thought it was a cool name that nobody had (at least in my city). I also liked the oriental sound it has and the letter H I guess my way was the bonus one

My tag is humba cause when i was four my parents got me a pet rabbit that i had been wanting forever. My four year old mind immediately came up with the name humbarimbo for this rabbit who has previously been caller bob. I loved him a lot and ig its my way of honoring him.

My tag goes along with a character and I first saw it in a solo bathroom at my community college. Over the course of like 2 years I would think back to this simple ghost character and one day I just drew it from a pic I took. I like four letter words more than five so that's how I came up with Gost

Ive been thru alot of names because i like to switch em up cuz the same one gets boring After more than a decade i recently started using my actual nickname and i shortened it to three letters for little throw ups or for when i use a mop Also i try to keep a secondary thats outlandish like its my supervillain persona (my secondary right now is CUMB LORD)

I got other tag names before snotee it was ill nuff then snuff then snop then snot idk why i chose snot tho just felt like it and i just realized after a year that someone in nyc writes snot too earsnot irak crew that's why i made it to snotee! someday when i will go to new york i will totally write a style different from him and also my favorite question to ask to a fellow writer is "have u ever been caught?" i combined the year i started writing with two syllables of a name of a Japanese artist who was infamous for constantly changing his name for my current one mostly cause i liked the letters and then i got one I'm gonna go commercial with after I'm done vandalizing stuff which might be a while cause i really like doing things that hard way

I was given my name, 35 years ago, and still write it. I was given it because of the way I was, that was long ago , and sense then , calm down immensely lol, I was a little bit of a short fuse sorta speak. But still running it today. 👍

I always feel like keeping the same name is the very best thing you can do for yourself! And its interesting you mention that cause I always had wondered for the longest time how my father manages to be so calm about everything, and how I was always so wound up. haha. And the older I've gotten, the closer I get to that as well and I feel like with age, a certain calm tends to come down on you...or maybe that's just people like us, idk lol. Either way, that's an awesome name!

I think either I'm more tolerant, or understanding possibly 🤔 but I have been running the same name, but I do have others I've used and still do, and those names only hold one purpose, there purpose was to allow me to keep hitting the street, worry free, with different style and when I felt that name was getting hot, I would cycle through 2 other names, for a bit, and then return to the original. And that cycle continues as the years go on.

I got my name by making a list of names that I liked and then choosing from there. One of them was "Sula", I thought it was cool so wrote that for awhile but then I realized that it didn't flow well in a throw up so I chose a different one.

my current is RYM, i got it by messing with letters and i started out thinking LIGHT would be cool, but realized its probably common, then was laying in bed one night and just thought of RIM being a good one because I like cars and its short.. and i saw some other people using Y's to replace I's and liked that a lot more. its pronounced RIM but ppl do get it confused with RHYME, either is cool

i got 2 backstories to my tag, 'LASHES594'- 1 is that i have insanely long eyelashes lmao 2 is that my favourite song for about 4 years was called 39 lashes. 594 is the police code for stuff such as graffiti and vandalism

i got my first tag because it is a colour i like (purple) plus something natural i like (rain), put them together and i got purplerain, but that was too long so i decided to change my name to sticks spelled STKS, the other reason for this change is because i used to love playing with sticks as a kid (still do lol) and I thought this would be an interesting name for wildstyle.

still going through some names and everything but right now my tag is Boja, I have a skin condition called vitiligo which made some of my skin turn completely white. the word "Boja" is a croatian word for "colour". thought it was sentimental and cool so started throwing that up but im stuck on how to style it anymore. ive been using a simple style for a very long time now but just cant wrap my head around how to progress into something more skilled:/

I’ve just started graffiti but an inside kinda joke with me and my mates is that I’m “high on life” and I’m Turkish and This in Turkish is “ hayatta yüksek” and I quite like the word yüksek which means high and I got confused and actually thought it meant life so I put 1 in front as in “1 life” which is a name I like but I also like 1 yüksek which means 1 high and idk I’m only just getting started but I quite like the name and I like the way it looks when I draw it

Pink is a great high value colour :) I always try to work some pink into my pieces that have blue fill-ins. It's great for contrasting with blues I find

my tag is Kikiriki / Pituka. If there are any Hispanics here, you'll know "Kikiriki" is the "cock-a-doodle-do" we have. I used to like roosters as a kid so I got nicknamed Kikiriki and I forget how my family pulled up Pituka (i think its from an old TV show/cartoon) but Kikiriki and Pituka were my two nicknames growing up, so I used them to tag. It just felt right. I actually kind of have different roles for my two tags. I like writing one-sentence poems, whether it be quotes I see on the internet or quotes from my own stories (I'm a writer). For the more poetic stuff, I'll tag with Kikiriki. Just for fun and to play around with styles, colours, etc. I'll use Pituka. :)

I use many different tags well rn I’m sticking to the books drawing little characters and filling up the pages with skizo, testacy, misery, arise, sheitan, feind, and then using croe as a throw up and rope as a piece…there all in order in how much I actually practice them since I’m newish I’m just trying to find the perfect name that suits me obviously all of them suit me but rn testacy is my main but I’ve only really done it on school bathrooms and random stuff but mostly the books…I chose that name because well I was a little high and I started thinking about how when ppl die they leave a will yk like property and the term testacy is leaving a will so I thought the definition sounded cool yk like if I were to die hopefully not sometime soon I’d leave a will which was all the shi Ima tag yk “my property”

I think ima stick with testacy but that’s gonna end up being my secondary I’d rather have something that describes me like skizo (got it from schizophrenia) or misery as my main

That's cool man. Working with lots of names is great for training your brain to be able to work with any letter which can be really handy! Especially if you do any pieces for other people who want them done and are gonna pay for em haha

My current tag is "KRISP". My first tag that i have wrote anywhere was "EINZ", which was my legit name (Einartas), just shortened. Some time after i created that, i just thought that it was kind of 'cringe' and that it was easily recognisable. So then i think i made "DIGG" and two others, which included "CRISP" and "BEIGE" (yes, for some time i'd had three tags at once, but afterwards i've only sticked with "CRISP"). So yeah, i had used that for a rather long time, until it popped up in my head that i could just change the C to K. Aaand that's how i got my graffiti name :D

I was eleven and was at the state fair and I was taging everything and we were going by the lama’s and decided to write my tag on the inside of the cage and one started chewing on my shirt so I changed my name to lama 21 with a little lama under it lmao as I remember this story

Nah, don't make your decision based on what other people think, only what you think. But Saint does have a lot of people who write it. It'll just be harder to stand out is all

so when i had homeschool i always ate thai boxes all the time, and my friends called me "thai theo" so "thai" became my first tag, tho changed it after a few weeks because i thought it was a boring tag, then it was "arsk" just because all the letters where easy to draw. Now i've changed it to "saker" because one day i where looking for a new tag, and i saw a alcohol drink called "shaker" and i thought it actually was a good tag, but i didnt want to fully copy and paste so i took out the "h" and i turned out to saker (sorry for bad english, its not my first language)

I've been writing letter graffiti and I still don't have a tag name. I'm self-taught and I practise every day. I was thinking of Skull or with a M. Whenever I used to draw I would sign it by putting MK short for Mek11z. It's a lame username, but yet it's close to me. I'm still looking for a tag. I felt like MK was too short? I'm still very new to this.

Take your time man! Find what you like cause that's what really matters I think. Practicing is the best thing you csn do for yourself to find what you like I think, but that's just me

@@ScizGraffiti I'm still going to practise everyday and going to improve my writing. I went to a building with graffiti today and I took pictures to use as reference to how the letters make space for others. It's really cool. If I do come up with a tag name, I'll make sure to come back

I’m really new to tagging so my tag still isn’t too set in stone??? At first I was like, “oh I’ll just take the vowels out of my name” which becomes SLS, which is a decent enough tag I guess. But then I was doodling some skater rats and I wrote RATS in a tagger hand style and it looked really cool. So now I write RATS and SLS in places? I guess I have two tags???

the TH is a harder letter combo I find but that's just me. Starting and ending with a sort of stick letter on each end (Y and H) could help make things symmetrical a bit easier
