Do you suffer from seasickness?

I have been on several boats of various sizes and I have been on trips of various lengths. I have done boat SCUBA dives as well. I never got sick. Then a couple of years ago I did a boat dive and got seasick for the first time. This past summer my son and I went on another boat dive and I got sic again. Kind of upset that something has but I am glad there are things out there to help.

I specifically get bad seasickness on those 60-70 foot charter fishing boats. Nothing else. Its like theyre the perfect size to make my equilibrium go 🌀😵‍💫

I've tried a ton of different sea sickness remedies and the Scop patch is by far the best. Also remember to STAY HYDRATED!

Scop patch definitely worked for me on a fishing trip. Thought you can't dive with it though

Thank god, no I don't. Wife and I did a live aboard in the Bahamas a couple years ago and on the crossing from Nassau to the Exumas it was a bit rough (3-6 ft seas) and there were several who were just miserable the entire day. With so many around you sick, you start to wonder if you are supposed to feel something.

great advice. i've been on 3 liveaboards and swear by the scop patch. i put a tough strips band aid over it so it doesn't fall off. i've never been seasick. (i wish i can find find a knock on wood emoji). however they do have side effects. a little loopy and jittery. when i'm not on the liveaboard i take a gravol an hour before getting on the boat to dive. in bali (i'm from canada) they made you take a gravol before diving. on an excursion before crossing on a boat to an island they had a big bowl of gravol in the lobby in the terminal. i used the bands at amusement parks you can tell they work because you arm goes stiff so there not just for diving. i seem to agree with your wife on the overkill. can you send the link for the best shore dives.

I have struggled with motion sickness my entire life. Even in the car. I love scuba diving though. On my most recent dive trip to Utila, I used a scopalamine patch, dramamine, and zofran and still puked off the side of the boat after my second dive on two out of 4 days. I have been drinking ginger ale and water nonstop. I have been snacking on the boat with mild symptom relief. This is ruining my trip. I feel nauseous just thinking about getting back on the boat.

Lucky me, I never had problems with seasickness. My advice for those who have, stay hydrated, before entering the boat and during your stay, also vitamin C simply eat an aple for breackfast or an orange, that will help a lot. And then (I am not a doctor so ask a doctor before taking medicin) use anty alergic medicin. For example hey fiver tablets or nose spray for hey fiver. These things ar anti histamines taking them up front, an hour or so, before the boat trip wil lkeep the seasickness away!
