Hoisting it off the car, weaving through the other cars in the lot when the park is busy, weaving through all the other park visitors without bonking anyone in the head, stopping to answer 15 questions from 10 different onlookers, getting it to the water before realizing you left the seat at home. But lifting? Got it.

Super helpful, thanks for taking the time to demonstrate what I imagine is a neglected but important topic

Best solution for carrying any rowing shell. BE SMART... its a ton of money to buy a shell, and worse when ya pops a hole in it being in a rush to get it on the water. Always, always error on the side of caution. GET SOME HELP.... Sure, you can do it alone, but why risk needless scratches and worse pop a hole in the hull. It doesn't cost ya a dime to ask for assistance, but it costs ya time and money to fix a hole or repair a huge needless scratch. I've seen a gust of wind topple over a person carrying a single and a double. Wet, slippery, and gone. Doink off the ground, pavement, stones. Bow kinked up, fin twisted off. Sure does look simple when everything works perfect. But boy oh boy those bad days can be costly.

Just learning to row a single and because I'm short, it's a struggle. My coach told me I should not carry it at my waist, even though that's by far the easiest and most stable way for me to do it. Any thoughts on that?
