3 Ways to Cheat: Hand Quilting Tutorial

Omg. I found you!!! I first started quilting in Guam 17 years ago . I found your show on the local military access channel. I literally taught myself from simply quilts. I still have vhs tapes of some of my favorite episodes. No vcr ! Lol my whole pregnancy I just watched and sewed. Thank you so much

Thanks. Like your ideas. Can you hand quilt a quilt sandwich that was spray basted together , using a hoop?

I have a question, I also hand quilt but want to scallop my border. Do I stitch the whole quilt first and then scallop the edge? Will the stitching come out or will the binding stop that.

Is it possible or recommended to hand quilt a king size with the hoop method? Or should that be done on a frame? I’m a new quilter and just about ready to start the actual quilting phase. Thank you for the ‘cheat’ tips.

i dont think im a beginner anymore after watching this i cant believe a their are ex little girls who never got taught how to sew (or anything) ladies dont let companies be the only people who can produce beautiful work.

Hi Alex, I have a question on something of the past. Many years ago in your show Simply Quilts you had a guess who made Bargello quilts without measuring. She was an elderly funny lady, I can't remember her name. All I remember is she was very funny, cutted the fabric and some pieces of fabrics she dropped in the floor with a funny expression. I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH HACKING MY FINGERS TO PIECES OOOO MMMMMM GOODNESS WHERE DID YOU EVER GET THAT WONDERFUL LOOKING THIMBLE??? I JUST CAN NOT FIND ONE THAT WILL EITHER STAY ON MY FINGER OR IS TO TIGHT AND WILL MAKE MY FINGER THROB FOR HOURS AFTER THE USE... BLESSINGS & BE HOPE FILLED FRANKI

Is each piece also hand stitched or my machine? I just purchased quilting frame "not set up yet", I am having trouble finding someone in our area that quilts. I don't know exactly how to get it ready to quilt other than what goes where as far as backing, batting and top. Can you start in anywhere when putting it on the frame?

I try 2 sew all 3 pieces 2gether by hand but the back stitches never come out straight as the top. How can I sew the stitches 2 make the top & bottom stiches look the same?
