I made the mistake of focusing on pay-to-play sites when I first started out. Auditioning for jobs on these sites was a great way to practice my craft but the competition is fierce. Then I started email marketing and I just booked my first directed session. There are a ton of videos here on RU-vid that can help you write an effective, professional cold email, find leads on LinkedIn etc.
I've been relaying on my agent for VO work, and it's been VERY fruitful, however, I heard that you can have MORE than 1 agent in different markets, is that TRUE?
Wish I've known about these things. Sadly, after years of training I've come to the sand conclusion that my voice is not marketable and I'm not what people are looking for (ironically I got compliments from peers on my acting skills).
