Dr Tim, you are IMO the best educator an speaker in the field. I always enjoy so much your videos and the way you present the information. Thank you for the amazing work you upload 😊
You are incredible you teach us how to prevent then you teach us even more ways in different techniques to prevent even more and now you teach us when we do mess up exactly how to fix it you've got to be the most well-rounded and well-schooled doctor in this beautiful art thank you so much and may God bless you and your beautiful wife all of us really appreciate this so much you could have just spent all of your time indulging in your practice in making actual money instead of making these fantastic videos that's what I call a true humanitarian and a true professional in anesthetics
I had a client that got ptosis. She was in her late 60s with extremely hooded eyelids. the worst i’ve seen. I made a huge mistake by injecting the standard dose in the frontalis, which caused heaviness and dropping of the brow and also it migrated into her eyelid bc her anatomy wasn’t what I was used to. I made my first and last mistake. I didn’t understand what happens as we age. If u notice, ALL elderly woman who don’t get botox, have elevated brows at rest and hooded lids. The reason our brows raise as we get older is to compensate for the hooded lids blocking our vision. When botox is injected into the frontalis, it’s going to place those brows where they are anatomically supposed to be and make the hooded lids look even worse (bc they can’t raise the brows any longer), therefore causing heaviness and droopy brow. Therefore, as an injector we have to be mindful of this and discuss a proper treatment plan discussing adverse events that could happen. We can go about this a few diff ways. 1) micro dose the forehead so the brows don’t get heavy but they will still have movement and the botox won’t last as long, 2)avoid injecting the frontalis above the brows all together (dr spock) 3) get a blephroplasty 4) deal with the heaviness 5) filler in the wrinkles of the forehead . I personally think micro-dosing older clients and having movement is the best bet but this MUST be explained in detail to the client, even if they come back in two weeks and say they still have lines in their forehead and want to be frozen… DONT DO IT! . I learned my lesson the hard way…. 😢
This happened to me by the practitioner first dose was ok but after 2 weeks they asked me too come for a review at that point they injected the same amount of Botox again - I was shocked as I read up on this before going that ‘less is more’ I’m not left with headaches, brain fog and ptosis! I don’t have wrinkles I had it for sagging brow ie for a browlift. I don’t know if eye drops they offered will help to open eye and get rid of brain fog? I was trying to see if it goes by itself? Including the Damage ? Can anyone help? As there no accountability in U.K. as all these are private treatments.
Thanks Tim, another fab video! I have Graves' disease with eye involvement. It caused an eyelid ptosis, and as the eye disease has improved, so too has the ptosis!
My husband has a severe eye twitch & his first Botox injections (by an eye doctor) left him unable to blink, a new eye doctor (cause we moved) left him with a major droop (eyelid not brow area) so now he can’t see, after seeing this going to talk to him about going to someone else to fix this. Thanks for the info.
Thank you very much again for your valuable knowledge. I had a progressive palpebral pstosis after the injection of botulinum toxin associated with erythema of the upper eyelids with itching. I concluded that my patient had an allergic reaction to the medication, he performed management with oral and topical corticosteroids, antihistamine and radiofrequency, the improvement of ptosis occurred after 3 days.
I feel like those were my exact symptoms also! The itching was the worst part along with that one eye open syndrome! Does this mean that I am allergic to Botox?
Thank you for this valuable information dr Pearce! Much appreciated! I only wish you could add a picture with the injection point to correct the eyelid ptosis. Is it lateral under the eyebrow in the orbicularis oculi or more medial? Could you clarify this please, I’ve got a bit confused now… Thanks in advance!
Thank you for pointing out the difference between the eyelid droop and the eyebrow droop. It surely made me step back and get more information about this. I’m a young 71 years old, and I’m just afraid to go “under the knife”, especially around my eyes…”my window through life”👀
Thank you so much for your valuable and informative videos. I have learnt so much from your online courses and also the forums. It has been worth every penny and would thoroughly recommend to any HCP to improve their knowledge and practice.
I'm so glad I found your video, you are bang on when you say you only notice yourself more when you get a procedure done. I forgot that I do get a bit of drooping sometimes and I guess I'm just so much more focused on it. I was so concerned after getting dysport. Thank you.
I understand that you are an expert in the Anatomy field, so instead of medical terms , would U be able to draw a picture or use a model to show - where @ how to inject so Lay people could get the idea Across and understand it better???❤
I like This vidéo about Eyelid Ptosis. I learn again anatomy of the eye. I think that all injectors must see This vidéo . IT IS THE MOST. Thank you Dr Tim.
Hello Dr Tim A few months ago I started wearing hard contact lenses (RGP contacts) on my left eye, and recently I've noticed that my left eyelid has been drooping a bit. My contacts help me quite a lot, so I'd rather not stop wearing them. Is there anything I can do reverse this or maybe correct it? Thanks a lot in advance
He never goes into that most important practical type of information. He brushes over it as least consequential bit of info. I hate that about ALL of his videos.

@@alishaygan9844and the same goes for all other injectors. I paid thousands on classes, seminars, and videos. I just paid $1,200 for a 30 min video demonstrating russian lip technique. Why should I show any of injector the video that I paid for that sets me apart from other injectors. Knowledge, experience and skills is what sets me apart and I am always taking courses and buying videos to study.
Thanks for the video Dr Tim. I have a question. I did a upper and lower blepharoplasty a month ago and my upper left lid is not opening all the way up like before and like the right eyelid. The results for eyelids surgery takes like 6 month and I'm still on the first month but I'm really anxious now that I will look like how I'm looking now. Is it common to have ptosis while recovering? Or do you think something went wrong on the surgery. The doctor says it's normal and that it would take 3 months to heal but I don't think ptosis has to do with it. I'm worried about the surgery having damaged my levator or some nerve that is responsible for the upper eyelids. Thank you!
I just had a Chalazion removed last week. Eyelid is still puffy and seems like it’s holding water. This was ongoing for 3 months prior to surgery from a blocked gland. I still feel it’s clogged somehow even after surgery. Not sure if it was from when I touched my eye with some bacteria on accident or possible face or eye creams with retinoids I heard. My eye blew up got very swollen. Used every home remedy such as tea tree, turmeric, tons of antivirals like oregano oil and garlic and was also prescribed steroid drops and antibiotic doxycycline. I’m wondering how to clean the lid if it’s still clogged if it’s a gland. I dunno but wish my eye would go back to normal. Might seek out a steroid drop for my eyelid. Will post video eventually on my experience with this. On further inspection it definitely looks like ptosis as it’s only my left upper eyelid. It’s so embarrassing and I’m getting so frustrated and close to the edge. Can’t take much more. I wonder if it was from the retinoid creams, because personally, I feel like it is droopy from still holding a Adema and swelling. Somehow it is holding more water and or not properly draining. I also wonder if it is allergic, maybe it is my memory foam mattress that I got recently.perhaps it was from an infection from touching my eye. My honest thought is maybe I got it by touching it after sexual intercourse with my gf as she found out she had a uti shortly after I got my blepharitis. Thanks for any input. I’m hoping to get a kenalog injection and wish I would’ve did it originally rather then cuttreage incision
What if I already have an asymmetry, one of my brow lower than the other & eye look more open than the other. It's not VERY noticeable, but I see it, because I know myself. What to do in this case? I'm afraid to get botox, I don't want this asymmetry be more noticeable!
I also have droopy eyelids after botox. It's been 3 weeks now. My eyes is better than at first, but I still have a strange feeling. how long does it take and is there a risk of being permanent? please reply. thanks in advance
This should settle over a period of weeks to months. For the majority of patients toxin results start to return to normal at around 6-8 weeks but can be as long as 6 months. The average is around 12 weeks. This will not be permanent if it was caused by toxin. Kindest regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim
Hi Tim I had forehead Botox for the first time I am male 51 and I have at the top left and right of my forehead like swirling bulls horns I never had these before and under my eyebrows looks like ptosis thanks mark
I go to a neurologist to get botox for hemifacial spasm, but this time he also injected my eyelid. Why i dont know but 5 days later I was left with one eye barely open. Really don't want to have this for months.
I had Botox by one of the many aesthetic practitioners in the U.K. for first time to lift a brow. At a review the same number of units were given again to my suprise I then developed eye ptosis, heavy head brain fog around day 9. It’s now day 16 after the 2nd t second top up what are my options will the eyedrops just lift the eyelid permanently or is it something that I’ll have to keep doing or am I stuck with the damage for life or do I wait 3 to 4 months because right now it’s giving me severe headaches and I can’t go anywhere I can’t drive. I’ve got a banging headache. Ps has anyone had a brain MRI following Botox ?
'Hi Dr. Tim. I had slight ptosis from a dysport injection and I went to the Dermatologist to see if he could help and he injected more to the upper side of the eye and a few days later it started dropping even worse. What is bothering me the most is it is making me a bit dizzy/nauseous like motion sickness. I don't know if I should wait for it to wear off or to seek the eye drops but I don't want this to be permanent.
I'm so sorry to hear this-It will absolutely get better. The other option to consider is apraclonidine drops or a product called upneek which uses another muscle to lift the eye temporarily. Did the adjustment happen a few days after the first injection or was it 2 weeks or more? This question would help you know if the ptosis got worse because of the secondary intervention or because of the primary treatment still kicking in. You will recover fully but it may be worth asking for more help from a clinician.
@@DrTimPearce Thank you for the quick response! I had the correction done one week after the initial treatment so you may be right about the initial still setting in. I hope it lessens in the next few weeks because the aesthetic bothers me less than the dizziness and eye strain.
I’m afraid Dr Tim isn’t currently seeing patient as he is focusing on training at the present time. But our team at SkinViva in Manchester UK would be happy to help. www.skinviva.com Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim
I am experiencing brow ptosis currently, for the first time. (It was my first time going to this particular injector, but I am not at all new to receiving injections) The product was Dysport and I started to feel the issue at just under two weeks.
well, the same thing happened to me, I have one eyebrow higher and one not and one eye smaller.. what can I do, stay like this or do I have to wait for the botox to come out please, thank you, an answer I beg you 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏😆😆 😍😍😍
I have right eye ptosis bad due to an accident years ago...eye hospital and private surgeons say no can do despite me throwing thousands of pounds at them to fix it...
please blame yourself!!!!!! when you really screw up and NEVER tell the over cautious patient this is possible. especially if there was NO reason to even touch that eye brow
If you haven’t had a treatment to cause this and it’s your eyes naturally it just means you have extra skin. If it bothers you then a upper blephroplasty will be what is required if the hooding is significantly enough to treat. This is a surgical procedure. Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim
