I have a breakdown of how to teach it to your athletes and apply it on my online course www.shopjump101.com. There is a set progression I use from 10 to 14 to allow the athletes to comfortably adjust to the speeds.
Thank you. At this part of the season you could focus on your base training, speed, and overall strength. That will give you a solid base to build from when event specific training starts
Does collegiate long jumping have to be 16 step for girls? My daughter did 14 step in high school and now 16 step in college but she is constantly fouling. I will have her try this approach in video. If so, will a 16 step start from 150 or 144? Thank you.
16 steps is a coach preference. I am not a fan of 16 steps. I can’t give you an answer for 150/144 question because every athlete’s stride is different. You can purchase a DVA and I would be able to review her approach.
in long jump when i jump off my right foot i get more height and when i jump off my left foot i get more power but i jump the same distance, so which one should i jump off
