Wish my coach was teaching me this intense. Since every time I practice with him, he always tell me to go slow, but never let me try these moves at proper fencing speed. There - on the tournament strip, my opponents won't be going slow with that speed he's making me get used to.
It's a fine line between going slow and too fast. A lot depends on the amount of time and the level that the fencer is at. In this video I am pretty confident of the point control of the student. But rest assured sometimes with other students I do go slower. But yes I am a big believer of making my students feel the real speed at least once in a lesson so that there won't be any surprises in competition
