Right. Just put this into context in my brain. Once you doped the distance and was just missing the target, you effectively shot a 3 moa group at 1160 yards with a 3030, with open sights, offhand. That's bloody amazing. Mind Blown!

The only real issue is you aren't going to get that kind of performance out of actual rounds you can load in it, and the energy falls off after about 300 yards for a proper kill on most deer too.

I must say Mark and Sam you two extract out of these golden oldies a degree of range and accuracy never before believed could be done. Great performance fellas very enjoyable viewing. Have you ever tried an around 1890 single shot lever action Martini Henry 310 with cast lead "Super", made in SA projectiles. Whilst they might be an old slow poke they still packed a solid punch at 400 yards, enough to drop head hit feral pigs using the flip up ladder sights. A lot of near misses and guess work of course, but when hit they went down.

What a great shooting with a 30-30 and a very beatiful lever action. Think you made great ammo. 30-30 hits so far away, 👍👏

Even with all the variables, like shooting off hand, distance, and wind, your shooting was amazing. I realized just how accurate a lever action.30/30 can be with hard cast lead bullets, proper hand loading and an aperture sight. Great shooting Mate! Gil from the US

I read a lot of compliments from viewers and a little jealousy hiding underneath from some of your fellow LR shooters. I am a very average bloke with a few rifles who shoots for fun and watches a few video's. What Ican say for myself is that you are hands down the best shot I have ever seen. You have a very particular set of skills mate and Sam is cracking shot herself.

I grew up being told a 30-30 was a brush gun that was good for about 150 yards... LOL It's kind of comical when you think about it but that was probably true at one point. I love the old lever guns they're like revolvers just classic pieces of history and are a ton of fun to shoot. Good shooting and great video as always keepem coming guys!!!

I hunted a great deal in northern California with a 30-30 but the rifle was Marlin 336C/ 170 gr. Flat nose. I never had a shot over 200 yards. I was never disappointed.

😮I thought when I dropped a deer @ 250 yards, it was a feat never before accomplished 😅. That was with a 30-30 Marlin and 3x9 power scope. Damn! You are good.

Superb shooting Mark, and it's good to see these experiments testing the limits of the cartridge. Speaking of limits, I was intrigued to read in a Jack Reacher book of some 30-30 handloads with an extra (!) 47 grains of powder in them. I'm all for a bit of fun but I'm glad I wasn't the one to test them - pointy bullets or not, I reckon one of those would stand a fair chance of setting the rest of the magazine off. Nice rifle, I like lever actions, although I'm not overly keen on tubular mags either from limiting the bullet choice or occasional unloading problems with rounds sticking temporarily then feeding when the action is closed on the 'empty' weapon. Another good video, always worth watching!

Quality lever actions have no issues like that, and as for fiction writing, just like the movies....its not real, it didn't happen, lol, Cheers
