Why are so many people down on this guy. I agree that it dosen't sound that great but he's having fun and enjoying playing the guitar and he had the guts to post this. Music is a positive thing for all. It's not about being good or bad.

awesome idea for this vid, now to do the rest of the effects/distortions and stuff, i'm still not entirely sold on it considering the tight metal pro looks like it's everything i would need

The Line 6 own amp models aren't half bad. I like them better than the other hi-gain models, which except for Bomber Uber sound "congested" to me.

Sounds fine to me. I am borrowing this product and it has tons of great tones in it. You just gotta sculpt them by taming them and it really takes very little time. Plus you can add your own pedals to it to fill in any missing gaps. Some of the effects and amp models are not so great for my ears but it has more than enough good sounds in it to make it worth the money especially if you are not a professional musician doing it for a living. There are tons of non-professional musicians who buy the most expensive gear and put out copycat music while they brag about their expensive gear because they have zero originality. They may be good players but they are still missing that key ingredient of originality. I just get tired of seeing so many guitarists saying somebody sucks or some gear sucks without being constructive to help the person get better or to explain exactly what it is about the gear that they feel sucks. Also instead of telling someone they suck, you can just simply say "well I'm not really feeling that style of playing but...." Being told that you suck is a terrible thing because in reality you most likely don't suck. You just can't please everybody with your approach that might actually sound like gold to someone else even if only a small handful of people really like it. We all have different tastes. If you don't like somebody's music, you can just move on to some other music that you like instead. I like how most guitarists play but I am very picky about what songs or albums I actually like as a whole. Makes no sense for me to run around the internet telling all these bands that I am not feeling that they "suck". They are talented players, just not my style. See, it's that simple. There’s also no such thing as “bad” tone--Only tone that doesn’t exactly match what your guitar hero plays. To me the only “bad” players are players who make a ton of finger slip mistakes on the strings which I hardly hear from any RU-vid demo guys. Also, youtubers shouldn’t need EVH skill level to promote a product because I’m sorry but most guys including myself buying these products are not even close to having EVH level skill. I’ve heard some really great guitarists demo mediocre gear and some mediocre guitarists demo great gear and that’s fine with me because I can still basically tell what I’m getting into if I buy it. It makes no sense to beat up the guy demo’ing the product without at least giving really specific constructive criticisms that might help that person improve the demonstration and then to thank the guy for his efforts. It’s basic courtesy manners that is really lacking in today’s world. They are taking their own personal time to put on a “free” demo for the people and people can’t even show appreciation for the hard work of putting a demo together. This product is really great for the price and if you don’t like it just skip to something in a higher price range till you find what you want. To my ears most guitar products from free up to like $2,000 or so give or take a few hundred tend to match up to their price points then after that you are pretty much paying more for the name than for the product. But for real there’s a ton of good music that has been made on really inexpensive stuff so we need to calm down with all the cork sniffing and to be honest everyone has a style of music they prefer and are biased towards and their guitar heroes are usually the guys that are popular within that particular style. When guitarists run into someone who doesn’t exactly match that favorite style but might be somewhere in that ballpark way out in left field, guitarists are often quick to say "oh he sucks". Music is supposed to be about expressing whatever is in your soul no matter what gear is in front of you and no matter how good you are. Alright I’m done. Have a great day everyone. Peace, love and respect to all.

First, please don't read this the wrong way for my curiosity is genuine. I see behind you all sorts of awesome amplifiers like Randalla, Oranges etc and you must have other great ones as well with great cabs to go with them. Thus, my question is, why would you still need an extra digital multi effect guitar processor? I have a couple of amps myself and had been quite happy with the tones I could get out of them. However, when I need to take something with me to lead the singing in our local church I find the Zoom g3n very handy though I'm looking at the Nux mg400 really hard. Is it like that with you, you need to carry something light but with enough features to help keep your tonal needs met?

Well no matter what everyone else thinks this video helped me out tremendously. I've had problems with my HD500 for about 6 months now. Finally got it working right again last night then downloaded the Uber Wet patch and then played. I'd like to know where you have the master knobs for drive, bass, treble, and volume and master set at please. As for the haters don't let them get to you and keep on doing what you are doing. I'd rather watch you then some lame ass that is endorsed by the product video. Just my opinion

sounds good, how was the drums and stuff done a loop track or a part of the software? is this all in built into the pedal or PC and the pedal just controls the software? I would like the hear the vypyr I'm thinking of buying one but I haven't seen anything much on them.
@Somehorsepower
@Somehorsepower 10 лет назад
Drums are outside of the Line6 somewhere. The PC has software to easily edit parameters on the HD500, but everything can be done on the unit with the control panel (without a PC) if you want to. Additionally you can record straight from the unit over USB as the unit is an audio interface. They're kind of hard work... if you imagine how much tweaking you'd need to if you had all those amps in the room (levels/eq)... thankfully once you've got it all set up in patches you can just switch between them. Also SG into Fender twin sounds a bit odd to my ears - makes far more sense with a strat\tele but good demo all the same. I ended up getting a DT50 to go with it - I've yet to find a sound I can't find if I spend the time on it. I don't much like the Variax guitars though...

Everyone you have to take a Line6 amp and set it up for sound instead of just paging through each amp this way. Every amp is set at low drive everything is low on purpose when you go through them like this. Nothing against TK he was just showing how many amps you can go through quickly. Remember set up is key I just made an awesome patch for Killer of Giants By Jake E Lee the beginning that sounds incredible.

If you want great crunch tone, the Mustangs are the way to go. The older Line 6 sounds horrible by itself because it is made to be very midrange which can be advantageous with loud drummers. Its a bit more difficult to get a flat clean tone with the Mustang, but I think it can be done. The metal super distortion is as bad as any good non-tube amp.

Thanks for the up/playthru TTK. While I still believe the line6 amps are digitalized garbage .... I can see why the pod's/pedalboard ones are actualy 1/2 decent!! T JCM-800 amp model emulation sounded pretty dead on thought not perfect.
@nichreynolds7712
@nichreynolds7712 Год назад
Actually the jcm 800 that was modeled for the pod hd500 was in disrepair. Thus was not noticed until later. The Amp that was modeled was serviced and repofiled. This is why the firmware update has a new jcm800 model called jcm800 remastered. Line 6 modeled actual amps and gave them to us warts and all. Other modelers give you an idealized version of amp models. Basically you get a classic tone you recognize with most units. With line 6 you get a very detailed profile of a real vintage amp. Not just an approximation of the schematics and signal chain.
@Sneaky-Snek
@Sneaky-Snek 10 лет назад
i had a pod hd500, was using it with my 6505+ 1x12 combo there is not a single tone in that giant pedal that i cannot get with my amp.. add a 10 band eq, some OD,Reverb, w/e effects you like, and you've got it, the pod hd500 requires a shitload of eq tweaking and refining for decent at best tones, constantly going back and forth from playing to the mouse to edit the settings over and over was too much BS for me, i go some great tones out of it, but not anywhere close to what a good tube amp sounds like

This man makes a great video how good those presets are to begin with. Tweaking those tones and melting with another, makes this unit as good as axe fx II or eleven rack. Some emulated stuff aren't as good as in FX 2 or R11, but some are better. I just have to say: you're tone sucker, not king. That playing is just awful.
@Natesmitguitar
@Natesmitguitar 10 лет назад
The tones aren't the greatest. Having said that, they're baselines for tweaking. These units really CAN sound great if the patches are dialled in well.
