I just went from a BMW 1 series to a 2020 Challenger and you're ABSOLUTELY right! Everyone gets out of my way. I never struggle to merge! I've had it for 3 months and you just showed me all kinds of things I didn't know! Great video :)
@@Nchuddle My Camaro tilts down, but just by using the normal mirror travel, within it's shell. The whole shell doesn't swivel like Challenger. I was hoping they folded inwards - I have a very narrow garage. I have 1-2 inches on either side between my mirrors and the door frame - I even had to remove the quarter molding to give myself that much room.
Dont forget the small window movement when you open and close the doors. Because you dont have a typical metal door frame around the top of your door windows like most cars, when you touch the door handle either from inside or out, the window will automatically roll down about 3/4" to allow for the air to escape when you close the door so that it wont blow out your window! Then once the door is closed, you'll see it roll back up.
That's also for the door seal itself. It is a special door / window seal that has an extra groove in it. The window slides up into the groove so the rubber seal is on both sides of the window glass edge.
interesting, my g37 convertible does this and I'd never seen it before... assumed it was just because of the hardtop convertible for better noise sealing. it is a bit of a pain when the battery is dead or removed though.
You will not be disappointed. I have had one for 3 yrs now. It is still perfect. I love it and will never own another car unless I get a Hellcat or SUPER BEE! so much fun to drive and rides like a luxury car. So comfortable.
Not an option for me: 1) I can barely get my Camaro into my garage - I've got about 2" on each side of the mirrors, then I have to pull to the right, so I can get out * 2) I have some twisty roads near me... ** * My house was built in 1954 (same year I was born) yet the garage is so narrow?!? Weren't cars of the late '40s and early '50s bulge-mobiles? ** I also have some problems with Challengers - I figured out the models, but all the stripes & black-outs, fake scoops, tacked-on fender flares, etc.
My son just bought me a challenger. He has a trackhawk modified to 950 hp. I didn’t realize how much I wanted something similar until I ran into my challenger. I’m so excited cause I’m the morning imma customize mine tomorrow! I appreciate this video bud! Awesome descriptions! Definitely likening , sharing and subscribing!
I have a SXT bought it two months ago I gotts say I love this car. Everywhere I go guarantee to turn heads every time. Dodge challeneger definitely a great reliable car.
I'm glad that they decided to start using the traditional cursive badging in the grill, and looks so much better than the block lettering that they had before. Thankfully they are ez to remove, and replaced the one on my challenger with an aftermarket one. The reason that the Shaker's don't shake like they did on the 70s hemi Cuda etc, is because they don't use aggressive cams like they did back in the day and are much smoother. Oh and BTW, the door rear panel pocket is an ideal place to stash a 45 pistol FYI👌🏼
Yeah I was at the beach and didn’t want to lose anything so I threw everything in my pocket in the truck and it kept opening I was like wtf is my trunk broken
Dude, thank you so much for this video. I’ve been wanting this car since I was 8 years old and I’m really close to being able to get one. Ive been watching videos of Challengers for about 7 hours now, and this is by far the best and most informative and funny one i’ve seen.
By the way folks, from a three time challenger owner, the rear storage pocket in the door panel is for your microfiber cloth for cleaning and detailing on the go.
The slider on your visor is to block the area behind your rear view mirror. I admit, I didn't go through the comments, so if someone already said it, my bad!
Ha! So that moving out the way thing is legit! I did an extended test drive of this car, the GT version in black, and noticed people kept moving out the way. Heck, people literally stopped at intersections to let me pass instead of making turns! Nobody cut me off! At first I thought it was me and I was driving weird or something. 😂
Haha 🤣 actually it's not the hood pins. I installed those and they require removal of the plastic and to drill through them. The holes for the hood pins are much smaller than the holes in the plastic 🤷♂️
Hey one weird quark about the challenger that you missed is when you hit the where am I button in navigation it will tell you what road in what town but it also tells you what elevation your at for example I live in Florida and my challenger has never been above 200 feet above sea level
The highest point inFlorida is about 350ft. It was on Jeopardy once as the southern state with the smallest difference between it lowest and highest elevation.
I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY COMES AND IM FINALLY A CHALLENGER OWNER THANKS FOR THOS VIDEO BRO I KNOW I’M LATE SEEING IT BUT NONETHELESS IM GETTING ME ONE!! #FavoriteCarEver
Good review! I upgraded from a 5.7 Shaker a few years ago to the Challenger Scat with the Hellcat Hood. That's the only feature I miss, thinking about installing a Shaker with a blacked out hood sometime. FYI, the compartment in the doors is for the souls you snatch at the Dragstrip, or doubles as Twinkie bins...lol
the shaker hood is also claimed to add 10-15 hp in cooler temps around 65 degrees at higher speeds, haven't noticed it in mine with this Texas heat lol.
Hey! I think I commented about a year ago talking about how I wanted a challenger when I turn 16 and as it turns out I actually just got a ‘15 chally and it’s coming in this weekend! I’m so excited and thanks for pushing my decision :)
What about when you go to university? Probably a dumb question but I want to go to university and also want a challenger but idk what to do with the car
My dream car right here after I get outta college the car is a beast. Also I must say you are a natural commentator I can listen to your reviews all day lol
Some of these unusual features are definitely because they use the same software on different vehicles. Jeeps have the trail tracking to help you find your way when offroading. Weigh stations can be used for checking your tow load which would be beneficial for a Dodge truck. Different vehicle image options so you can match up to whatever car is running the software (Viper, Chrysler, etc.).
Just picked up my 2018 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Shaker 6 Speed, omg! Love my new car. Great video, thanks for sharing, I've learned a lot of new things about the car from you! Totally appreciate the content your putting out there. Great job...
Thanks for all the new information and features for this great car. I am German and love the Dodge Challenger. You have shown me that this car is worth buying.
EEEK!!! Picking up mine in a couple hours!!! So excited!! And to answer one of your questions, weigh stations would be used by anyone hauling a horse trailer with any sized pick up if the weight is over a certain limit. At least they are here in Nova Scotia.
The door cup holders are a life saver with a manual. They always get in the way when I'm shifting, especially in 2nd 4th and 6th. I use the middle cup holders to hold my keys hahahaha
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought people move out of the way. I have had the car for a week and see people move and also let me merge much easier lol like a boss
I too have a 392 scat shaker.... interesting enough, the shaker shape not only matches the old shaker, but also is the same outline as the dodge ram shield front emblem.
The tab on the sun visor is for the gap between the rear view mirror and it. Also any truck with a gross combined vehicle weight in excess of 26,000 lbs is required to go across truck scales. The Ram 3500 has a GCWR of up to 39,000 lbs in 2018. That's why they have the scales tab.
8:30 It's a compartment for cards like a parking access card, driver license, registration card, etc. It's especially handy in Europe where people don't use their driver license's as ID's, and they keep their driver licenses in car almost all the time.
Mher Ghazaryan It’s not a compartment. It’s just a piece of plastic that slides out in case the sun is between the visor and the rear view mirror. I have a Challenger.
The purpose of the side view mirrors tilting down is to make parallel parking more easy so you don’t rub your tires or scratch your wheels on the curb. I’ve owned more expensive cars where the side view mirrors automatically tilt down when you put the car in reverse.
Just got one of these, bout to start adding less educational videos and all the fun shit you wanna see 😎 I laughed when he said people see the lights and get out of the way bc so far that is actually no bullshit. I love it.
Love mine I traded a 4 door 2018 jeep wrangler unlimited sport lifted and customized. I couldn't be happier as far as the radio function the car sounds so good with the muffler delete I've done . I don't even listen to the radio. lol
The cup holder thing, I got a manual scat and discovered that the center console cup holder is useless unless the cup is only 3” tall, ha ha. I only use the door cup holder.
Dude thanks a bunch, i didn't know few of these features & I have a '16 Scat Pack Shaker. I shall check out the visor pocket thing and purposely lock my keys in the trunk to see it unlock itself. Awesome vid
100% true most people just get out the way when driving one of these. Something about the look and the orange lights, people change lanes leaving you open to pass which is nice. It’s just the character of the car with a Hemi I guess 🤷♂️ some people just wanna see/hear them pass, others see that and just get out the way
Interestingly enough, while driving a black Charger that happened to me a lot as well. In that case it's probably because most people subconsciously associate the appearance of a dark Charger with a Dodge Charger Pursuit, which is used by police departments as their patrol car in many many states, and therefore get out of the way immediately from instinct. Nice feature of that model =)
My friend bought a new 2019 Challenger years ago and is still learning about it. There is a pocket on the passenger side of the console for paperwork like maps.
This video was awesome. I just brought my challenger two months ago. I didn’t know any of this stuff. It’s 12:3am. I actually when downstairs into my garage to see my car. I have all of that stuff. The windshield logo. The engine cup holder. The honeycomb design lights. The console display with all the screen me etc. etc. etc. thank you so much. Tomorrow which is thanksgiving I’m going to discover more stuff. The engine is beautiful. Wow. Thanks so much. Your video is great. Very informative. Thanks again. I have a 2018 corvette but my challenger is my everyday car. The color of it is hot yellow.
That's so awesome!🙏💪 I'm glad you found this video enjoyable and informative! That's my goal with all my videos. Enjoy the beautiful ride. That's one awesome color too. And Happy Thanksgiving!
usually don’t like/comment on videos, but you are super outgoing an funny with your video! it really does seem like you enjoy making videos! can’t wait to get a challenger soon!!
Much appreciated! 🙏🙏🙏 I really do enjoy making videos and providing information to my viewers. Enjoy your challenger once you get it! You're going to love it!
I know this video came out four years ago and options may have changed but at the 19:58 mark he’s states that you can’t look at the instrument panel to see what gear you’re in. There is a setting that will display what gear you’re in to the right of the M⬅️D, it is turned off by default.
I got a 2010 SRT8, it’s missing many of these cool features because it’s the model before the new interior and face lift, feature-wise it had a standard SiriusXM radio that only did AM/FM and AUX audio. Of adjustable handling settings, it has 1 feature, ESP OFF, that’s it. I’ve had the radio replaced with an Alpine iDx-702d and that allows me to use Apple CarPlay so I have access to music, phones and navigation.
@@SchwayZ it is, been driving it over 19,000KM since January, recently did the oil change myself. I’ve had no problems with it at all, surprisingly good in corners and tons of fun to drive! I also love seeing people’s reactions whenever they see my car, I get a load of thumbs up, smiles waves and people appreciating it :) Driving it has got to be the best experience of my life so far. It has the 6.1L hemi with 431hp, plenty of power and an actual great daily car.
Nice video, lots of things I didn’t notice about my scat pack. The car icon in the performance pages is always grey, my black challenger is grey as well.
