Tap. And tap often. I’m 6 months into my Jiu Jitsu journey and loved your sentiment about focusing majority of defense, since that’s mainly where you are the first 2-3 years. Really enjoying this so far.

I have that exact pinch in my left groin, from Jiujitsu I played half guard a lot and it would pinch so painful I’d have to tap. Ended up being a torn Labral in my left hip after 4.5 years of just dealing with it finally got an MRI to confirm. It helped that the pain management Doc I had is a brown belt in Jiujitsu and as soon as I told him the pain and issue he knew what it was.

Man, inspiring! I did mma for years and then transitioned to bjj. I took 5 years off and just started back up. I’m at a new gym, good atmosphere, good grapplers. Starting off 2x/ wk. and drilling it at home when not at the gym. Excited to see where this will take you.

Awesome job with staying in the pocket when you're getting tested on the mats! I found the best thing when in a hard camp or doing extended hard training is CBD and getting at least 8 hours of sleep Everyday. I could feel a huge mental and physical difference when I missed getting my 8 hours, even by 1-2 hours.

Im actually doing that exactly now thanks to covid. Since all I have to do is supervise projects I get emailed every hour, I have time to do BJJ in the morning, weight training and calisthenics in the afternoon, and sparring at the same mma gym at night. Plus I am putting in 4000 calories with hunted meat and home grown potatoes.

Hey brother, I know I said it before, but I’ll say it again, this is gonna hurt. But the prize at the end of the tunnel will be a massive jump in skill. Training two times a day 4-6 days a week will blow your mind when you start training with “new guys”. This is a marathon, not a sprint. If you make blue belt in a year, you’re on fire. If you make purple belt in 4 years, you’re a stud. If you make brown belt 2 years later, you’re on track. Black belt will take anywhere from a year to five years thereafter. You got this. Come train with us at Zangief Jiu-Jitsu in Vegas next time you’re in town. Hope to see you again at the next shot show industry day.
