My boyfriend and I are about to finish doing a level 3 no spend month! We went the entire month of April and I plan on keeping it up for another month or two on my own. It’s been aaaamazing!
Maybe an easy way to still get the book fix is libraries? If your issue is you prefer ebooks check and see if your library has rentable ebooks. Though you may develop a habit of taking out too many library books LOL!
This was so helpful! I just did one like this and am planning on doing it again to save for a trip to Europe - it's definitely worth it!! For all of y'all watching - go for it!
So spending is one of my past times- a whole month feels intimidating. I am starting with level 1 for one week- then go from there :) thank you for your advice!
I think I have a mix of all. My bad habit are discounts and stockpiling food when it's on discount (I live in one of the most expensive countries in Europe, so discounts are gold)
I unintentionally did a no spend level 1 in April it was a big accomplishment for me as I went to a mall in London and walked out empty handed. Yay me! Going to try to intentionally do a Level 3 for the month of May.
3 years late but I’m with you. Lol I want to do this because I find myself spending $300-$400 monthly on impulse purchases. So I want to get this under control.
I’ve been doing this since the beginning of the year, buying just what I really need and buying no clothes at all since I have so many! Let me tell you, it feels amazing!!
I live at level one 😆 I live in a rural area with no shops, have to drive 200 km round trip to find a clothing, tech or department store. I may have to try an upgrade to level 2....
ritalyn b yes! I grew up like that!! It’s a bit easier nowadays with the internet to shop BUT definitely less tempting! Love that you’re up for level 2 - That’s what I’ll be doing too.
Loved this video. It was super helpful. I think I overspend mostly on events with friends and in that regard mostly on drinks and stuff. I feel like that’s a big area I need to work on. Not that I’m an alcoholic or anything but me and my friends usually have beers/wine when we do stuff haha. It’s actually such a bad habit we’ve built (and I think many other people build).
I'm so in!! I'm going to do Level 3. I just cleaned out my bathroom so I have all those half used products like you were talking about! We are also moving in June so I'm going to try not to spend anything to save for all the renovations in the new house...ha
I live near Milano Italy, and I'm a huge fan of the no spent challenge, + I'm a minimalist, and love resuning items, like using jugs as cups. Go green go healthy and happy. Cool video, stay safe in coronavirus times .🐾
I mostly live at 1.5. I don’t buy things. I rarely eat at restaurants. Every couple months I buy a face mask or something random. Rarely spend more than $30 every couple months. I buy food and gas. I also spend money on activities, going to events, etc. I try to challenge myself to spend less every week.
i love this video thank you for helping me! shopping is my way to relieve stress, but in turn, it has made me pretty poor. I am 19 and I want to move into my own home soon. I am going to try to do level 3. This will hopefully help me chip away at my debt and super focus my budget on saving. I work as a groomer at Petco, so I am literally in a store all day every day. Wish me luck! Subbed :)))
You can do it! Consider getting on a budget and mapping out a strong debt-reduction plan for a more sustainable strategy. Head to my website to find some free trainings I offer on both budgeting and debt payoff www.wanderwealthy.com/freestuff
I already mostly live at level 2.5-3 but could definitely work on clearing out the back of my pantry before buying new groceries. Other than that, I am a medical student with no time or money, so it kind of has to be this way haha. :) However, my big no spend challenge for this year is to not buy ANY books that aren't for school. That has always been my biggest problem area in the past, and if I do have time to read, I already own some great books that I haven't gotten to yet or I can use the public library.
Great question! I either get creative (give things that don't cost money like time and something you can make from home/from the heart) OR... and this might take a little more preparation, but I have a money system where I pre-save throughout the year for birthday and holiday gifts. So it's not really something I necessarily think about when I budget form month-to-month because I've already saved for it. So if you're planning to no-spend next month, maybe see what you can set aside this month for those gifts/party favors.
Watching all these videos really makes me realize I don't have anywhere near as much excess as most people. I used to but I like my house too clean to keep clutter or things I don't love and improve my life
I need this challenge cause I'm trying not to spend as well so thanks for uploading this video and thanks for talking about the jumping to one two and three thing once again thanks😁
Hey friends! Thanks for watching - I'd love to know if you're joining me in this no-spend challenge. Whether you do or you don't... tell me: which level would you do?
Nope, these would be required fixed expenses (assuming you have to use your car to get to work and do other mandatory things for your life) Especially your insurance... you don't want to be driving around uninsured. But if you can scale back on gas because maybe you don't HAVE to drive during the month... then go for it!
There are lots of ways not to spend during the holidays. It just depends how bad you want to cut back and what you're willing to do. Actually a good time to do a small no spend challenge to save up for shopping for gifts!
Ok So I can't try it properly until July as I have travel plans. But in the spirit of May no spending, I am going to not spend on foods at work. It's become a bad habit.
I will join you on the no spending on food at work. I have been going out for lunch a lot which 1) I don't enjoy because I have to scarf down to get back on time 2) don't find value in 3) racks up $50 a month on food I didn't really enjoy
Amber Morrison 😂 Super simple! (If you have the right tools) It’s espresso made from a moka pot (Italian coffee machine) and steamed almond milk which I used a milk steamer, but you can also heat up milk in a jar in the microwave, close it with a lid and shake shake shake! Then combine :)
Wander Wealthy by Tess Wicks, thank you! I’m saving up for an expresso machine with a steam wand, any recommendations? I recently subscribed to your channel and I’m loving your videos. I’m not much of an investor but I’ve been using a lot of your tips to pay down debt.
Thanks for subscribing - I'm excited to have you around! Once you crush that debt maybe you can come back for the investing videos :) Honestly, the espresso machine we have here is one my boyfriend's dad gifted him years ago (and I FINALLY unboxed it last week lol) I'm not sure if you're in the states BUT I just saw this deal on a blogger's website for an espresso machine from walmart. danielle-moss.com/2018/04/04/be-productive-when-you-work-from-home/ Under "Establish a Morning Routine" there is a link. It says it expired April 23 but I clicked the link and it looks like it's still working. Anyway, thought it was a killer budget-friendly option!
Meet at a park and BYOcoffee,, wine/beer (if you can), or go for a walk, or meet at a mall and window shop, or go to a free event in your town/city or if you have a museum that offers free entrances for locals... tons of ideas! And communicate this to them! It will be a fund talking point and if they aren’t interested but it’s something you feel you really want to do, maybe they aren’t the one anyway OR it’s just not the right time to date that particular person.
