We are ideally placed high on Moorea and we watch the whales every year from home; the whale season often starts at the end of June/beginning of July but we often have to wait until August to really see them daily and September + October are the two months when we observe the most whales (groups of whales with their "babies"). The latest we saw a whale was November 17th...

French Polynesia is an amazing place! You will have an amazing time no matter which island you visit.

Thanks so much! We were in French Polynesia from August-October. We would definitely recommend this time for the weather and chance to swim with humpbacks!

We are so glad you enjoyed the video! The pier is at Sunset Beach and can be accessed through Hotel Les Tipaniers. (Even for non-guests) We saw several types of rays (including an Eagle Ray!) and a few Black tip sharks from the pier as well!

Hi Samuele! We went with several companies. Here are our top three: 1) Moorea Moana Tours (Best Chances) 2) Blue Invitation (Private) 3) Moorea Dolphin Excursions (Lowest Cost) Both Moana Tours (our favorite) and Dolphin Excursions use larger boats. Blue Invitation uses a smaller Zodiac. Which means it is private, but bumpy depending on the weather. Blue Invitation is also the only tour to include wetsuits.

We stayed at Air Bnb's across all of French Polynesia excluding Fakarava. If you are looking for other (non-resort) accomodations I would recommend searching for "Fares" and "Pensions."

We used the Magic Air, but have switched to the Magic mini 2 since then and would totally recommend it! Glad you liked the video 🙏

Did you sue the GoPro for the underwater footage? And can you recommend a whale watching tour? Your boat looked awesome and like a small group

@@tinamaciej2096The whale tours were the highlight of our trip. The small tour was with a company called Blue Invitation, but we would also recommend Morea Moana tours. And yes all underwater shots were on a GoPro. We hope you have a great time and see whales!

Moorea is part of French Polynesia in the south Pacific. It is very close to the Tahiti which you may have heard of!

Hi Miyoko, will you stay in Moorea for the entire 3 months? We stayed at an Air Bnb for 30 days on Moorea then spent another month bouncing between four other islands. Air Bnb is your best bet for longer stays! (There are affordable Airbnb's if you're willing to rough it)

@@PaigeandChristian Thank you for responding 🤙🏽 Yes, majority of the 3 months will be on Mo'orea (I'm there to photograph whale 🐋 season). However, if/when my family comes to visit, I'll/we'll bounce around inter-isle (bora bora, huahine, tikehau, tahiti etc). AirBnB is the main source I'm looking at/using 👍🏽// Was there a particular part of Mo'orea you liked staying at best? Or if you re-did your trip, you'd stay closer to? I love the Tiahura/Papetoai "sunset beach" side, but I'm finding it's very expensive for a solo traveler. // There's some great options in Haapiti, but it's so far removed from my main points of interest...but I guess beggars can't be choosers 😅

The best thing you can do is message whichever AirBnbs you are interested in and ask for a discounted rate for the long stay!

On Moorea, you will find accommodation for all tastes and all prices. Luxury accommodation is rare. Also, in a tropical climate isolated from the world, hygiene and comfort are not always guaranteed and can leave unpleasant surprises, which is why you should not be too stingy when choosing 😉 Finally, in low season (November-April), there are no whales but you can negotiate a really lower price! Do not hesitate to negotiate strongly!
