True story. I had seen trailers for the Gilmore Girls on the WB and I thought to myself that there was no way I was going to bother watching that show. Then one evening I was getting dressed to go over to my grandparents' house for dinner and I had the tv on in the background and it was one of the many Friday night dinner scenes. It was like my family. I about fell over and ever since then I watched it religiously until the final episode. It became my favorite show and I cried a little when the series finale finished airing.

Another fun fact... Here in The Netherlands, where Gilmore Girls has been on TV daily, it's broadcast in English with Dutch subtitles, as is the case with English language media here. The interesting thing about it is that the dialog between, say, Rory and her mom, which has fast-paced-patter and American pop-culture references, is almost impossible to subtitle at the appropriate pace and to provide 1:1 context (which would be lost on the local Dutch viewer, mostly). So the subtitles are sort of a summary of the scene's dialog, completely missing the charm and wit exposed in the rat-a-tat English audio. (Some might say this is a good thing)

I know them by their character names, so she used so many different personal names that I couldn’t follow some of it and as soon as I would remember their real life first name, she called them by their last name and I was lost again. 😂 I could assume quite a bit, but I prefer to call them by their character names when watching a video about the show. Sometimes actors don't eat the food in a scene because it's been sitting out for hours, and/or has been sprayed with elements to keep it looking fresh under the lights, and said elements aren't edible. Also, there are multiple takes for each scene and the action has to be repeated exactly in each take. So if you eat a lot in the first take, you have to eat the same thing in the same amount each time.
