30 Fun Things to do During Quarantine - Renee Romeo
www.reneeromeo.com
Here are my 30 fun things to do during quarantine for the Coronavirus pandemic. The current global situation calls for ideas to pass the time with activities that you can do at home this weekend. Activities for daily living (or adl) can help! Fight depression and anxiety with self care. Anxiety disorder, depression, and isolation are on the rise. Due to quarantine and isolation, self care ideas are necessary. You can use this advice if you are use a walking boot, hobbling around on crutches, are confined to bed or in a cast. My foot is broken so I have a head start on Coronavirus: Fun things to do while social distancing.
My tips for social distancing. quarantine and isolation are easy and free (or, at least inexpensive). While we're waiting for a Coronavirus vaccine, keep busy! I may not have 100 ideas for activities you can do at home this weekend, but I'll give you a good head start. My self care ideas (adls) include many of the projects that you find on my web site. Don't feel like there aren't 100 things you can do while trapped inside. If you look around the site, you'll find over 166 at home activities for Coronavirus (COVID-19) that will occupy you for days. So, about quarantine and isolation, I can offer myself as an example of how not to be bored. I am living proof that there are fun things to do when you're on crutches, in quarantine or both.
Coronavirus Social Distancing, Quarantine and Isolation
Much COVID-19 information & resources are available from the World Health Organization but there isn't much information on how to deal with isolation in a healthy way. Activities for kids in Coronavirus quarantine are at the top of the list because isolation can lead to anxiety and life-long anxiety disorders. It's imperative that we spend time with children and reassure them by spending quality time with them. Learning new skills, socializing or spending time together can greatly impact a person's mood in a positive way. Anxiety and depression can't be Coronavirus symptoms if self care and care for others is easy and accessible. ...And it is!
What to Watch and do in Quarantine at Home:
My RU-vid channel (Renee Romeo) and web site (www.reneeromeo.com) both contain several hundred hours of viewing pleasure. In this video, I have 30 fun things to do during quarantine and all 30 can have you and yours engaged for hours, as well. You will learn new ways to navigate the internet and find activities that you didn't previously know about. I show you how to use your smart phone as a device that can improve your health too. While COVID-19 cases in the U.S. continue to rise, you can learn new things in the safety of your home or bedroom that will improve your life and well being.
Now is the time to learn a new skill or craft. I share many helpful ideas that educate and inspire. Please don't turn your brain to mush by binge-watching Netflix or Amazon programming. There's a time and place for show and movie watching but tuning in all day, every day isn't the best idea. As a matter of fact, during the previous seven weeks of my broken foot isolation, I rarely viewed my TV. What I'm trying to do is zero in on learning important life basics while having fun at the same time. There's a wealth of information available for free on the internet, if we just know where to look.
Things to do with Kids During Coronavirus Pandemic
Your kids are probably more proficient navigating the internet than you are. But, you certainly have more life skills than they do. Why don'y you marry both skills and create some fun activities? A fun environment focused around learning is a healthier way to spend time together. Engage one another with a step-by-step video. You can learn a new recipe ( Sea Salt Spray for Your Hair), learn how to tie shoelaces like a designer, or learn new ways to relax with guided meditation. My meditation Guru's site is here: Sara Raymond This is a great way to connect with kids and comfort them if they're anxious or depressed about their own life's disruption.
Are you infirmed? Have a broken leg?
The activities I suggest are for adults, children, and seniors too! All of my recommendations to occupy your time are able to be done by everyone. Even if you don't have a paycheck coming in, it's still fun to plan projects for the future - whether they're pure fantasy, or not. I show you how to redecorate a room, make fun bathroom accessories and collect ideas for later. Do you know what Pinterest is? I'll help you start accumulating and curating a visual feed of images that you can save and reference for a later project or simply for fun. There really are so many things to do from the comfort of your bed!

All great advice, I’ve learned to love naps! I empathize with you on your foot. I fell thru the attic in October and broke the metatarsal bone in my foot, 4 months in a boot. The knee scooter was a life saver. Then I also had spinal surgery in December, so I’ve been self isolated for months now!

Ghez G, I'm so sorry to hear what you've been going through! Thank goodness for all these wonderful people on RU-vid that post things to educate us and keep our minds busy! I'm actually having a lot of fun with the scooter - I agree that it's a life saver! Keep up the positive thoughts and I'll also be sending positive vibes your way. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Renee TY

Hey, sweet lady found that site about the lamps we were talking about. It is Lamps beautiful Meyda 21193 fringe table lamp. 8 inches high $86.40 . The flowers are different than the ones I bought, mine have a burgundy and taupe roses. That boot just freaks me out how big it is. I cannot imagine trying to sleep in that thing. I am so proud of you taking this in stride, just cannot keep a good girl down. Cannot wait to see your next video, you and family stay safe and God bless.

Hi Nancy, I saw the lamp and it's really pretty. I have something similar in my dining room. I'll try to get a photo and send it to you. I checked out the wreath too - very clever! If you use plate racks, you could change out the colors easily. So nice talking to you yesterday. Yes, the boot is HEAVY! I'm taking it easy and went for a slow walk yesterday. It was nice to get fresh air again. Thanks for everything. Stay safe with your pets and husband! Renee

@@ReneeRomeo, I am so glad that you received it I truly hope it came all in one piece and not pieces. I love getting gifts from my friends that they make, and not store-bought. The pincushion is from Etsy yes but it is handmade. If you are interested in the lady's shop, I can give that to you when you call. I am right now making a bedspread for my bed. Tough though the hands just do not work like they used to I have to keep quitting for a while to rest my hands or they cramp real bad. I hate this!!!! What I used to enjoy I just cannot do like when I was younger. But cannot cry too loud my mom can hardly write her name. Have a great New Year and I will enjoy talking to you soon. God bless. Nancy

mostjoyfulone, I'm laughing at your post! That's something that would happen to me - haha! Thanks for the laugh. You're very welcome for the video. I really wanted to share my thoughts because I've managed to not be bored hanging out in my bedroom for the past two months. I, too have issues pronouncing some Italian words but at least I'll be able to understand what's being said to me (maybe), if I ever travel there again! It's going to take a long time to disinfect that country. The sea salt spray recipe was given to me by a friend a few months age and I'm happy to finally have made it. It's nourishing and smells like coconuts too! Wishing for summer... Stay safe and thanks for the well wishes, Renee

Lorraine, I'm so sorry that I missed this note!! I'm actually doing really well with my foot and I'm back making videos again - yay! It was so difficult for me to keep filming because it involves a lot of walking back and forth, etc. so I felt it was just better to do what I could and forgo the filming. I did manage to remodel and refresh a couple of bathrooms but not the one that requires a new shower curtain - that's still on my list of things to do. I won't be 100% healed until the end of January and I'm being careful not to re-injure it in the meantime. Thank you for reaching out! It's so nice to hear from you. I'll see you on a more regular basis now. XOXO Renee
