What a shame non of the rest of the flight crew would go to the Opera House but don't feel uncomfortable about saying you feel apprehensive. You have to stay safe and that's what's important. I hope that on your next stay in Sydney another crew member will go with you, as it would be nice to share the experience. Hey soph, so glad you got to be in Australia after a long time. I'm glad you decided against going to the Opera house alone, please always remember safety first. I don't know how it's done for border security(my 2nd favourite program) but they blur the faces of some people who don't want their identity revealed so I guess that's how it works so even if they film you, your identity is still not known. I love watching your videos and please tell Clara that I love her glass work and I wish I could do same. I always enjoy it whenever you facetime with her and she says hi. Thank you for showing us your life and that of your amazing family🥰❤

I'm glad you had a wonderful trip to Sydney. Shame you couldn't get to the places you wanted to see. You don't need to worry about being scared, it is understandable as you are on your own in a different country. You looked like you had a blast in Woolworths (shame it's not like how UK Woolworths used to be). I had a little smile about the cutlery mention. Hopefully the suncream dies work better for you on future trips. Stay strong and remember to not be upset if you don't get out if you are scared about going out alone.

Hey Sophie, I stumbled on your video. I'm from Sydney, it's ok to walk around the Opera House on your own. I did it with my young kids a few weeks ago. It's safe, I used to work in the city and I'd have lunch around there on my own. Take care.

Welcome to Sydney 🥰 1. I know where you staying from one street shot because I went to a job interview across the street 😆 2. Hamilton sunscreen for face is the best!! It comes in a white and beige bottle or a squeeze tube. Does not make you shiny and it does not interfere with your make up. Also, it doesn’t feel like sunscreen which is what I love the most.

I don’t think that feeling is stupid at all, Sophie. When traveling, especially as a woman on her own, you should always listen to your gut instinct. If you’re not feeling comfortable, you were right in not going! I’ve backpacked on my own for a year, and listening to my gut instinct has helped keep me safe.

Hi Sophie … I hope you enjoyed your stay. I’m sorry you didn’t get to the Opera House. It’s always safe around Circular Quay where the Opera House is. I work at Sydney Airport and could see where you stay. I would be careful though walking from the train station back to your hotel at night though unless you’re with someone. The Border Force program has been running for years. They always get people to sign a release if they agree to be filmed so generally they must be happy to be filmed. Opera House next time please when you’re in Sydney … the Opera Bar is wonderful, especially in summer ❤❤

Welcome to our country, hope you enjoyed Sydney. Yes you must keep safe, especially don't go walking out at night by yourself. Once again go with your gut feeling, most of the time it will always be right in any situation. The TV show you were talking about is called Border Security, its quite a big show here in Australia, features most of the capital cities and their international airports. Most of the time its a year or so after the filming before we see it on TV, especially with people that are caught with illegal stuff, needs time to go through courts etc before being aired on TV. Hope you had safe travels back home, and hopefully its before a another 3 years have pasted before we see you back again.

Totally understandable that you didn't want to go out alone. Traveling/touring alone as a woman is tough and you have to be smart! I'm so amazed that you can get avocado in a tube. Very handy when you don't have the resources to make it fresh.

Can never go wrong with fish and chips anywhere you go am guessing it’s not as good as homes also you look fantastic natural Sophie but Woolworth’s that’s a blast from the past!, the heat in Australia sounds very like Singapore when i was there in October it instantly hits you soon as you get outside but weirdly never needed sun cream I couldn’t ever get used to the change in time I honestly don’t know how you cope with the many time differences you go through real trooper Soph but I loved watching and seeing your Sydney trip ☺️

Hi Sophie, it’s so strange to see you’re in my country. I’ve stayed at that hotel when I’ve been in Sydney on business. I suggest that the next time you’re in Sydney and want to go to the city it’s really easy to get there from the airport by train. The domestic terminal at Mascot is with easy walking distance of the hotel, and has a train station that connects to the city and Circular Quay. That’s where you’ll find the Opera House.

Hi Sophie, hope you had a good Australia Day (Jan 26) in Sydney. I see you made it to Woolworths Mascot. The train station is across the road from there where you can go directly to Circular Quay to see the Opera House. I would consider the Airport / East Hills train line as quite safe up to about 8pm. After that you can travel in the guards carriage (which is marked by the blue light, it’s normally the last carriage in the eight car set). Back in the old days we grew up with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) 30 sunscreen. Nowadays you can get SPF50 and SPF100 so you get more protection. The Aussie sun is brutal. In regards to Borderforce they ask for permission when they film someone who is innocent. For people who are guilty of something then they are covered by Freedom of Press legal provisions - and quite often the guilty party are either in prison or have been deported so their chances of suing the TV channel are low.

I am SO SORRY you had to come here in the middle of a heatwave 😭 it's horrifically hot. I'm in Queensland (north of sydney), and it's scheduled to be 35°C tomorrow. The sunscreen thing is an actual fact. There is a "rip" in the ozone layer due to the amount of like air contamination and things like that. It covers New Zealand as well. We have the highest rate of melanoma in the world because of it, followed closely by New Zealand. So yes, our sunscreen is the bomb in comparison to other countries. Not that a lot of people use it. Also, for next time, try the pharmacy for the big tubs of paw paw. Chemist warehouse to be specific. I'm not sure if they still sell it, but woolies "woolworths" has been recently out of everything constantly.
