Bro, why bother making videos? Stay with Nicole, post a couple of update vids here and there so we know you're not vanishing, and we'll be fine. Wife comes before us.
This is lovely! I would buy something like this, and if you made a few at a time they could probably end up taking even less time. If you wanted to make more, that is.
All this did was give me a profound appreciation for how much time you put into each project. Look after Nicole and yourself, Ben. I know the algorithm is picky but even if you kept posting in the community page, I'll always give it a thumbs up and comment. 👍
You got it into the pot within 30. I'd say that qualifies. After all, knowing how long resin can take... certainly have to plan over a couple days at least. Maybe if it was like... 30 minutes, pot time, then 30 minutes. And LOVE the finished piece. Almost ethereal.
Just don’t do what I do and forget it’s high speed… then EVERYTIME I do my own resin mix, I forget and mix it way too fast (also not properly trying to rush thinking it’s how ya do it) and end up with endless bubbles!!
I am just watching this video now but have to agree this is one of the parts that always makes my smile and the tap tap tap on the cup at the end of the mix!
That keychain looks awesome! When you said 30 minute challenge, I thought you meant like every day was only 30 minutes, not the whole thing! You are quite ambitious!
The amount of work that goes into even a small project like this is quite evident by how much you had to move around just to get the shots, not even counting the actual project. Just goes to show you can't rush perfection! I think it turned out great and you are definitely to be commended for thinking of us while helping your wife recover.
So many things I loved about this project. First, you are so sweet to your wife. I love that you shared that with us. Take good care of you both! Next, I loved the overall color and design choices. Finally, the "nebula" effect was well done. Keep up the good work, Ben. I hope Nicole is doing well!!
Looks great. Knew the 30 minutes would be tough but props for trying! But, even more props and total respect for putting your wife's needs above your wants/hobbies. That's the right way to be a husband and the correct example to set for your son. 👍🏻
oh wow. it's funny how many times I watch your videos and those words come out of my mouth. I never tire if watching you build and this is no exception. very cool build. here's hoping you're wife has a swift recovery and I hope you're taking care of yourself as well. Can't wait to see what you do next. Cheers
Thank U for looking after Ur lady, (such a good bloke!) and putting Ur loved ones first!! Sending love for a speedy recovery. I don't mind the raw video, puts a different spin on things. 🥰
Thanks, even at 52:52 it was a meaningful video to all to realize the time, effort and tools required for even a “small/simple” project. Hope Nicole’s recovery is swift, glad you are an example of being her assistant.
It doesn't matter that you went over the 30 min mark; it still turned out awesome! I especially like the nebula effect you did. It looks like a vortex or something all swirling into the center. Great job, Ben! And best wishes to Nicole 👍
I was really inspired with this work, legit a solid build, I actually would like to suggest casting the name of what the is key for like "car keys" or "backdoor keys" in glow in the dark resin, and then putting it smack in the middle to mimic a "floating" effect, that way you would know what the key is for even in the dark... though it doesn't have to be what the key is for, you could put someone's name on there as a gift... or a symbol like a peace sign or a heart... =) Hope Nicole gets well soon!
Great job, as usual! I liked the little tips you passed out as you were working, and I also enjoyed seeing the camera move and focus - I don't know why, but it made it feel more like I was hanging out with you in the workshop. All the best to Nicole, as well Edit: forgot to mention that my guess was 45 minutes for the project, so you weren't too far off that!
That video was great! The finished piece was beautiful and creative. I even liked the quick camera moves around the workshop to the different pieces of equipment. If it’s not too stressful, I would suggest doing it again in the future. A simple project, an hour to get the project to the pressure pot, come back the next day and another hour to complete. Wishing your wife a speedy recovery.
Hey, I'm scheduled for a lumpectomy on the 29th. You take care of both your wife and yourself. This rough cut video was way more than nail-biting than we deserved.
It's always good to feel like I'm not the only one going through this. . . stress. And I will NOT feel guilty about making y'all take time to respond to me and instead bask in the warm glow of-- Hey! The responded to me!
I missed that Nicole had to have surgery, but I'm glad hear that she's doing well. I'm also sending good wishes for the rest of her recovery. I'm also impressed that you were able to do a project, from start to finish in less that an hour, plus it looks great!
I really like the way that came out, regardless of how much time it took, but it's especially cool considering it was done in less than an hour, minus time in the pot. I definitely think the little swirls in the center was a great idea. It looks really cool.
Under 1 hr is a big effort Ben. I spend more than 30 min thinking about the project before I start. I know you had a good reason, but shed time should never be rushed 😁👍
That's pretty darn good for under an hours work. Really like the nebula effect you added to it. Great job 👍! Hope the misses is doing well and has a speedy recovery.
That turned out awesome man! Nice way to balance the work/family balance. Also, that looks like a piece of the inside of a magical Thunderegg. Just stunning mate!
I like that a lot, especially the glow-in-the-dark. I always have rather large keychains made out of paracord, so that's actually kinda small in comparison. I hope Nicole is well and I wish her a speedy recovery.
I cannot love this project enough 🤩. For us poor dogs (burl poor lol) this makes it possible to create a lot of smaller pieces that are still amazingly beautiful!!! Heck I can break a piece of wood and do something similar 👏👏👏 And the size may be large for a pocket but we have purses.. carpet bag size purses 👛 😂 Loved that you sanded & polished by hand.. probably most of us do 👌. Warmest regards to Nicole 🌹
That is gorgeous! Although you didn't make the 30 minute goal you set for yourself, it was still done quite quickly and you still maintained quality. If you make more in the future, that piece you had would have made 2 or 3 thin key-rings....I'd buy one in a heartbeat! Great job!!
That looks nice, Ben. You actually didn't take that much time since you did spend time changing the camera. I also noticed that you changed the keychain part for the final pictures. Glad Nicole is doing better, too. Take care and give her our best. Bill
Ben, the key chain looks great and amazing you were able to complete the project in the time it took. I'm not sure it would look any better if you weren't on the clock. Good job and hope your wife is recovering nicely.
Greetings from Southport on the Gold Coast. You should absolutely make more of these, they would sell and I would certainly buy one. I like a large keychain as well. Glad Nicole is on the mend.
I gave you the benefit and said 10mins over But it’s shown me how much time and effort goes into your projects also it was great to see your work shop from a different perspective. Great work looked awesome keep it up and all the best to Nicole
Nicely done, you might not have got a lot of pigment in the clear resin. But I like that subtle color. Just adding a nice hint to it. Great work as always. And sending a big glad your doing well to your wife.
You're amazing man. You did great. It was a simple project, but you have to be realistic with your challenges, there's some things that simply cannot be sped up.
This video's kinda old by this point, but I've been binging a few of your videos today and gotta say, I love your voice man. Something about it strikes me as very wholesome and caring and it makes for a very soothing watching experience.
Awesome job as always! I hope your wife is doing well and gets back on her feet soon. Keep up the awesome videos, we live for the upload message that we get every week.
The Keychain came out really nice, love the colors and the swirling. I was guessing 46 minutes. Crazy how time flies by so much faster than we think. Very glad that Nicole is getting better. 👍
This was really cool. Loved the rawness of this video and the anticipation of weather you would make it or not. The finished result was just as Impressive
This was so cool! Would love to see more challenge episodes, maybe one where you compete against someone and have a set time to make something and you have to stop when the timer goes off then let the commenters decide the winner
Oh Ben. You made me laugh and laugh! I loved the video style. Don't worry about the time. It would've taken me 2.5 hrs. You did a beautiful job. Give Nicole a 🫂 and a ❤️ along with a get well soon from me! After all she's family too!
Ben the finished key chain is cool. It almost looks like it has a break in the center from when you removed the toothpick. The mild colors do look awesome. The fast pace of this video was intense.
