It appears that there are even more strange things I noticed during my time playing The Legend of Zelda breath of the wild. So strange in fact that I made yet ANOTHER video about it going over EVEN MORE things that don't make sense to me, 30 more things in fact. Yes I am going to be applying real world logic to The Legend of Zelda breath of the wild yet again.
In the video above, we cover 16 facts, tips and tricks that aren’t quite as well known, ranging from secrets to glitches, so me that are pretty simple and others that are fairly complex. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been out for four years at this point, and players have found some amazing things, intended or not, that keep the game and its sense of discovery feeling fresh.

1:15 If you upgrade the flame breaker armor enough you eventually get the set bonus fireproof which actually prevents all flames from hurting you.

@@Bonnielikescats Because the armour was literally made to prevent catching fire. The only other times you catch fire are with campfires and flame weapons, but even then, the upgraded armour doesn't stop you from taking the extra damage from a flaming weapon- So figuratively speaking, yes it is useless.

A theory for the water at Zora's domain. They use super-purified water, it's known that pure (distilled) water is not a good conductor of electricity, and also pure water can reach as far as -40 degrees Celcius before freezing depending on the conditions. That'd explain why it doesn't freeze with cryonis and why shock arrows don't do the trick.

Pure water freezes at 0 ºC. The dissolved salts are the ones that reduces the temperature of freezing. A few grams of salt per liter of water can reduce the freezing point to -1 ºC or below

It's the fact that luminous stone is not a conductor of electricity. The luminous stone is under that water so no electricity will happen.

Only...its in nature and flowing so it picks up debris. Even if it started distilled it wouldnt be once it flows on terrain.

For what it's worth, lightning isn't attracted to metal, it's attracted to tall thin objects, so a twink like Link would be very unlikely to be hit by lightning anywhere at ground level, even if he wore full plate armor, except possibly in an open field, and even then only of someone has mowed the grass recently.

Something I've come to realize about video games is that you're not supposed to take everything literally. If the events of the game were happening in real life, everything would be a bit different.

Yeah but they're not because video games are supposed to mimic real life (well at least some of them like botw) so if something did happen in real life, the video game would copy it.

The material used in Zora's domain prevents water from electric effects because they are EXTREMELY vulnerable to electric damage . They don't sell shock arrows because of this. Edit : Zora are also more scared of electric weapons than other npcs.

08:43 knights in medieval armor were fully capable of doing rolls, jumps and moving as if they didn’t had any armor on. So this doesn’t seem so illogical at all.

Both the inventory stuff and the shield swapping comes from the same place. Your Shikha slate turns them into digital information and stores them like data on a hard drive. It can then release/swap out items in the exact state they where when you put them in there (cooked/ alive/ frozen) as for the shield. It's just the Shikha slate instantly absorbing the old shield and replacing it with a new on.

The bomb launching works because in bullet time, objects can move at extreme speeds for some reason. So, the first bomb explodes rocketing the second bomb into links back, which gives him incredible speed. I guess the real question is how does he survive it?

I'd argue the point about mobility in armor. As far as I'm aware, armor being highly restrictive for movement is a misconception.

It's incredibly empty and repetitive,I can count all enemies(not including variations) with my fingers There is like 3 bosses And all this physics engine is only used in shrines

When Link wakes up from the Shrine of Resurrection, how does he know how (or have the strength) to walk, run, jump, climb, and swim as soon as he gets up? How _can_ he even get up? If someone wakes up from a coma in real life, they have to go through therapy because their nerves shut down and their muscles lose strength due to not being used for a long time. And, Link lost his memory. He wouldn't be able to remember how to use his limbs without someone re-teaching him. Yet, he's just like, "I've been asleep for 100 years and I can function like a perfectly normal not-100-year-old Hylian!" Like??

Since the shrine is designed to regenerate damage done to his body, I just assumed that it kept his muscles and nerves in a stable condition so that he would be able to move again without needing to relearn the process. Also, it's fairly clear that his memory loss wasn't complete. He's got amnesia, but he still remembers how to do subconsciously learned behaviors such as moving and speaking.

My personal headcanon regarding inventory is that items just transfer into the Sheikah Slate and can be quickly and convenient pulled out at any time

I noticed from video #2 that when you destroy a tree, not only is the wood magically cut into perfect planks, but it is tied up with a mysterious rope. Also, you can fly halfway across the map, from Death Mountain to Hyrule Castle, in one flight! Another related note, why is there a LITERAL VOLCANOE right next to not one, but TWO snowy areas. And why is it that you can kill a single Eldin ostrich, you can get a raw whole bird AND a bird thigh? Do these birds have three legs??? And how come a campfire only burns a small area of the wood? I mean, it NEVER spreads at all. AND (I'll try to stop soon), How come some NPCs NEVER SLEEP? I see no logic.

2:59 the flame creates a downforce of course! 3:51 the tree was attached to the log which attached to the roots which attached to ground and you can't stasis the ground! 4:33 he isn't a normal human!he's a hylian Grandpa,the strongest of them all! 😢

Fun fact: if you kill a single ostrich, it will sometimes drop *two raw whole birds.* this happened to me once. BOTW logic really is confusing.

If link takes stamina to run then why doesn’t he need stamina to run and whistle at the same time? Wouldn’t that take more effort?

Lemme explain why windbombs make sense: Bullet time is NOT a game side effect link has really the ability to slow down time so now if we try to understand how windbombing works: 1: Link places a round bomb 2: Link enters bullet time 3: Link places a square bomb 4: Link detonates the round bomb 5: For some reason the round bomb detonation creates the same ammount of momentum as if link wasnt in bullet time 6: As the round bomb created an enormous amount of momentum the square bomb is ejected super fast as fast as if there was no bullet time and so because theres bullet time it means that the square bomb is going absurdly fast 7: The square bomb colides into link at a ridiculous speed sending him in the direction of the square bomb

Iron oxide has a higher molar mass than pure iron, so the weight actually increases. But when burning wood, most of the reaction''s products are gases like carbon dioxide and therefore escaping, decreasing the mass of the wood.

Wind-bombing or ‘bomb jumping’ is easy to explain, there is two collision boxes (spherical) when either bomb explodes. There is a ‘wind’ collision (WC) and a ‘damage’ collision (DC) box, the WC starts before the DC and so when the Sphere bomb explodes the Square bomb gets pushed then explodes, then the square bomb launches into link with such speed that link won’t get damaged, and link goes flying.

The Zoras built their domain in such a way that it nullifies electric currents, mainly because, you know, THEY ARE FISH! They state at several points that any amount of electricity is lethal to them (except Seggin, who's slightly more resistant), so they built their home to completely disperse their biggest threat. Also ignore the fact that we can shoot thunder arrows through them, that's a Gameplay thing, also Link's the Hero and wouldn't actively hurt innocent civilians so the game doesn't let you.

2:34 ok so this one is actually a lore thing. Obviously if that water conducted electricity the whole town would be a hazard, especially when everyone is just sleeping in that pond together. So they use special water (no idea what they do to it) so that people don’t go around getting electrocuted from on stay lightning bolt.

the thing about not having updrafts in death mountain could make sense. Key word: could. since updrafts only occur when the air at one spot is warmer than the air around it, it would make sense that the lava does not cause an updraft because the air is already hot, and therefore the air above the lava is not heated up any more than the air around it. there is no difference in pressure, there is no updraft. however that would imply that the air is as hot or close to as hot as the lava...

Another things: When you have stonesalt, it is very big and intensiv so when Link cooks with it, it has to be too much Salt in it . Or Link can survive without drinking water! And He doesn't even eat every day

Plate Armor isn't as bulky and heavy as people think. It's comparable to modern riot gear. Also, distributing the weight across the body reduces the impact of its weight, as you're spreading the weight across multiple muscle groups.

The falling thing is terminal velocity. Which is air resistance vs gravity. More mass means more gravity affects you. Which means you accelerate until gravity can no longer overcome air resistance. Objects with higher mass have a higher top speed.

I don't get how that Gerudo eating the Hydromelons in the "Mystery Polluter" side quest takes AGES to eat the one Hydromelon, but Link can eat one in a matter of seconds!

26 achaly makes sense in a way, with all those items your holding on you, link will most defiantly be more heavy then what's around you in the air.

Burnable obiects have a separate "Health Meter" of sorts separate from it's Durability. Once it runs out, poof! Item gone! I believe it even resets each time you put out the fire, thus the Burn damage isn't cumulative.

Link falls faster because his massive inventory adds to his weight and mass, thereby increasing his velocity. Which BTW is slower than terminal velocity on Earth. Jump off Shatterback Point and count how long the fall takes into the reservoir. Then put that into the calculations for fall distance and you will see it should be MUCH higher than it is.

That with the Blessing Shrine was exactly what i thought i yes it makes sense in Game because you have to do a Quest to even reach it but The Rito Quest with Kass kids even has a Puzzle but still isn't a blessing WTF?

If you shoot a crab, it will die, if you place it down, it is still dead, BUT if you pick up another crab without killing it and drop it along with the crab that is supposed to be dead, the dead crab magically gets revived

This is a bit of head canon, but my theory on why Link is able to hold so many items is that the sheikah have learned how to make physical matter digital and vice versa. When you teleport, Link's body is being made digital and then reforming again. Or when you shoot something with an ancient arrow. Their body is made digital, but it's not allowed to turn physical again. Basically Link has all of those things stored digitally and he can materialize them at a moments notice. That's just my personal head canon theory though.

Actually bomb jumping kind of makes sense in real life, A rocket basically works by having an continous explosion in the back, doing an lesser number of smaller explosion would also work for acceleration. How he survives it still is an mistery though, thats the reason we don't just nuke things into orbit.

I think it is normal for 6 and 7 Link needs to Telecharge the object or the living animals on the Shika slate and then he can take it or remove it from his inventory. (the object or the animals)

6:59 yes it dont make sense because it's a glitch (obvusly) and for why the game freeze is because the game dont understand how is possible to go that fast and for and now for how it work the first bomb is a launcher second one is a pusher so the luncher lunch the pusher into link at mach 10 so he can fly across the map ! (i dont know if you will understand what i mean and sorry for the my bad spelling 😅)but anyway a great video of useless zelda fact that was a cool video !🙂

I can actually answer number 25! The heat from the lava dispels as it goes through the air, and since the heat alone isn’t enough to create the updraft, it doesn’t. But the air forcing its way up from underground vents erupts from the cracks, causing an updraft!

You still catch fire from fire sources because the protection is from the heat itself, not the actual fire. You'll still catch fire from any flame source, not just Campfires. 🔥🔥 You have to upgrade the Flamebreaker set to Level 2 to get the actual Fireproof effect. 🔥🔥

Here's a pretty big one: the korok in the Shrine of Resurrection. When you first start the game, the korok isn't there (Imagine waking up after 100 years to see a korok floating above your face). But, weren't all the other koroks already in their places the whole time? Does that mean that when Link leaves the Shrine of Resurrection, and is having a nice chat with the old man, the korok sneaks into the Shrine of Resurrection and takes his place in the weird sleep pod thing, to be discovered later? It has always made no sense to me.

Unless all the Koroks have been waiting in place for literally a hundred years, than absolutely a Korok saw the shrine of resurrection open up it decided it was a great new hiding spot.

anyone ever noticed that if you kill any lizalfos (excluding the elemental variants) the tail it drops is always green? even if you killed a silver lizal, its tail drop is still green...

Why is it that when you sit by a fire by pressing A and going through the animation, the fire burns out, but if you wait it out without "sitting by the fire" then it stays lit forever?

I've got one. Why is it if you save your game in the exact spot a Stone Talus is lying on the ground & then load that save, you get SKYROCKETED into the air when the game loads?? Seriously, this launches Link into the air with the force that a Tower does in Tears. It's a really wild effect! I did it on pure accident when trying to fight the Stone Talus on the Great Plateau shortly after the game's launch, so there's a chance this has been patched out of the game. I was even able to repeat the effect multiple times after discovering it. Would love to know if this is still possible in the current version of the game. I haven't tested it to find out.

HOLD UP, inside each divine beasts there are just pedestals that can only be accessible by using the Sheika slate, but firstly, how are you supposed to control it when there is only one Sheika slate which Zelda previously owned? Second, HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT THE CONTROLS FOR THE DIVINE BEAST ARE WHEN ITS JUST PEDESTALS WITHOUT BUTTONS?! Third, how do the champions control everything but link can only control certain parts of it? I would love to see these in the next things that don’t make sense video :D

The water from the zora does not conduct electricity because of the rock they used, and you can’t use cryo on it because it is shallow

How come you need to use a fire arrow to melt a large block of ice such as the one concealing a shrine. Fire weapons won't do it. Neither will lighting a fire immediately beside it so the flame is licking up the ice. But shoot it with a fire arrow and the flame of the arrow will just hover there and melt the ice at a uniform rate.

Okay so here’s another thing that doesn’t make sense, so if you go to Gordon city the wooden weapons will start burning, but the wood you get from trees doesn’t start burning

Some thing that don't make sence to me is that you can use the snow boots or sand boots with the gerudo outfit you can get inside of gerudo town but if you use any other boots or pants and they will detect you as a voe

Link's bag contains a dimensional rift to a giant warehouse, complete with staff who will literally hand him the item he desires through the void. 😁 If you look closely, you can almost see the gnarled fingers of child slaves poking out of the dimensional rift in his bag.

Well the flame gauard is protecting from heat and not from open fire.... There lava on death mounqtain does not cause updraft, because updraft would need relatively warmer air and all the air is warm already. Also 8:22 air resistance? If you open the paraglider then you fall slower, isn't it interesting that gravity pulls you slower when you hold a paraglider? 🤪
