If you're a 12, are you resenting the decision to pass instead of hand off to Marshawn? Marshawn made me a Seahawks fan. And in the biggest moment ever, he saw Russ throw a pick. They were SO close to two championships! And they never got close again. Russ just wasn't who made them champs one year. He's shown it every year since.

I find that fans are actually a lot more tolerable in person than they are online. While there may be some initial animosity towards each other, at the end of the day we're all just people and people can find common grounds and have a good time together.

@@JimMork wanna start by saying I completely understand why people feel the way they do about that play call. It sucks that the play ended in a pick, but from a clock management standpoint it makes sense. You have only 1 timeout left with ~30 seconds on the clock. 106 passes were attempted from the 1-yard line in the regular season that year and 0 attempts were intercepted. If you run the ball and Skittles doesn’t make it in you have to burn your timeout and essentially third down becomes a down where you HAVE to pass. It was about preserving the timeout and ensuring four quality shots at the end zone. My big critique is that they should’ve called a boot right instead of a quick timing dart. I’ve seen with my own two eyes Russ make magic between the lines and to not use his legs on a rollout still is head scratching. Apologies if it’s TL;DR. I just always feel like with how reactionary sports media and enjoyment is, it’s fun to try and breakdown the analytics and game management of sports. Much love from the 12’s. 💙💚

I appreciate the sentiment here but it's really not true that the Mariners draw incredible attendance figures when the team is bad. They haven't been top 10 in MLB attendance since 2004 and most of that time they've been in the bottom half. But can you blame them? A 21-year playoff drought will have that effect pretty much anywhere. The Mariners certainly draw a lot of fans when they are good (see 2001, when they led the league in wins and attendance). This is not a knock on the Seattle sports community at all. It's great. P.S. I wish the Sounders had their own stadium and played on real grass.

Thank you for adding that Sonics bit at the end. The city has always been ultra passionate about the Sonics (arguably even moreso than the Seahawks and Mariners before they left) and it completely felt like it ripped the heart out of our city. Related/unrelated: animosity for OKC is real. Our team was stolen.

I have been a fan of the Hawks since the Dave Craig days, and a Mariners fan since the Alvin Davis days. I was a Sonics fan until they day they left. That day, basketball was dead to me. I have yet to watch a single game since. I would love to watch a Sonics game again.

@@JimMork If you have trouble with the Space Needle, you should just see my hometown of Chicago. The Sky Deck at Willis Tower (floor 103) has glass boxes that hang from the side of the building that people stand in. Crazy stuff.

Hey as a Seahawks fan, I do commend the Falcons for completely overshadowing our 1 yard line blunder in Super Bowl 49 with the far worse, far more embarrassing 28-3 debacle in Super Bowl 51! No one even talked about or remembered the embarrassment of SB 49 for a long ass time after SB 51 completely blew it away in terms of embarrassment against the Patriots! It made just about every Hawks fan feel a lot better about SB49 LOL!

You know I’m completely against trans people but that’s what sports are all about, bringing people together no matter what the differences are. I’m glad Tom got to visit such an amazing city

Yeah, it sucks that so many areas have been pushing back so hard. I know people want change to be quick, but some things are deeply embedded & take time to erase. We will persevere!

Something that gives me hope is that Gen Z, Gen Alpha, and even Millenials are much more skewed towards supporting LGBTQ+ than other generations (statistically by as much as 5x). Knowing my generation will eventually replace those who can't seem to embrace a differing lifestyle choice (bigots as some call them) brings me comfort.
