Whining about how Vince handled Mexican wrestlers in 97 but not knowing psicosis, one of the most recognisable wcw luchas, seriously... do you even know wrestling?
And he claimed that the Sandman was lucky to last over a week. Just because YOU don't know somebody Adam, doesn't make them automatically unknown to everyone.
britishhedgehog Other than Simon everyone who knows wrestling left Whatcultue a while ago. All that's left are guys who wouldn't know Vader if he walked up and slapped them.
Psicosis is one of my favourites of all time. His work with Rey, Eddie and Malenko to mention a few was incredible. WCW had some real players on their hands
"I remember absolutely nothing about Psicosis except that he was in the Mexicools" *turns off video* I thought this was a professional wrestling channel...
This Adam is a casual. He's not a dirty sweaty mark like Simon or Jules, and for that I am not keen on him. Plus he hella dissed Psicosis. He is a bad Adam.
How do so many of you not remember these? I remember 25 of 30. And seriously, dude in the video remembers nothing about Psicosis?! The guy who came to the states and put on SEVERAL 5 star matches with Rey Mysterio over a number of years in ECW and WCW, and someone from WhatCulture doesn't remember anything about him other than he existed?! C'mon man!!
I hear ya, I was expecting the same thing but not surprised that he's not on the list honestly because he's a huge name south of the border so I guess it makes sense. Funny thing is that Mil Mascaras eliminated himself in that rumble because he didn't want to "do the job" aka get eliminated by someone. I heard not all that long ago that he is still wrestling, now well into his 70's, and still refuses to do the job for up and coming talent. That's both sad and hilarious to me at the same lol.
Subliminal187Tv i said the same thing... This channel is trash. Has been for months, since the old members mostly left. To be honest, im not much of a fan of simon either. Once a week was okay. But shit this dude is on nearly every vid now.
Yep. A lot of fans have mentioned this here. When this guy is your wrestling "expert" in the office and the only alternative is Jules .......this channel is dead! Not just this though but gaming and film too. Ben and Peter are the only personalities left and they appear less regularly. Probably trying desperately to leave.
Chris Kessaris pretty sure he and rey mysterio made their ecw debuts in a match against each other. he always stood out in wcw for me because he seemed so freaking tall compared to the other cruiserweights
I remember Psichosis! Mostly from WCW. But how can you forget a man with a mask with huge horns on it yet still had some of the best high-flying, acrobatic lucha libre moves around?
Unmmm what the bloddy hell is wrong with you, phycosis is a legend in wrestling and was anpioneer in the cruiserweight division in wcw and had some legendary mexican death matches with rey mysterio and juvi guerrera... disrespectful
TheAg2661 TBF in WWE ONLY Psosisis did nothing in WWE just another wrestler IN WWE it’s a shame but that’s fact. You just imply he doesn’t know anything about him they don’t give this job to anybody. He probably is talking about WWE in general it’s the Royal Rumble. I’ll stop commenting when everyone stops complaining about a 5 second mistake in a 13 min video...which is never.
I know I am going to sound like a nerd and have no life but: 1. Gillberg is spelled with 2 Ls 2. While Terry Taylor only appeared in the 1993 Rumble, his other gimmick, The Red Rooster appeared in the 1989 and 1990 Rumbles
Wrestling Gamer The folks creating the content should know better than you but they don't so I don't consider you pointing this stuff out as "nerdy." You're beating them at their own game.
Psicosis is a lucha legend! Wrestled in WWE, WCW, ECW, and all over Japan and Mexico! Him and Rey Mysterio pioneered the surge of the lucha style in the US in ECW! No respect!
The only two who I didn't know were in the rumble were Carlos Colon and the Latin Lover. And how can you go on about Cibernetico's career and then say you don't know anything about Psychosis except the Mexicools? Seriously? AAA, ECW, WCW, Rey Mysterio's greatest pre WWE rival? Ring a bell?
@Mr. Puroresu yes, in Japan, but what Gentle here is referring to and I agree, is that Hakushi had enough talent to have received a push and be more than a midcarder in WWE.
I remember Evan Borne and Beth Phoenix. I don't think Beth's was forgettable really, she was only the second woman to ever enter the rumble, did it when the ring wasn't crowded, and eliminated the great Khali.
GoldNinja Vlogspot lol what? Too correct you mean? Everyone remembers Kharma coming back only on this list because it was 1 of 30 shortest appearances.
Then we're missing Warlord (who,, who is that, exactly? all I know is he had the shortest rumble record at 2 seconds. Santino beat him with 1 second MANY MANY years later)
Psicosis was a great luchador. Just because only YOU remember him from the mexicools which is probably when you started watching doesn’t mean many others don’t remember him from ECW and more so WCW.
I have ZERO hype for this Rumble. Absolutely ZERO expectations. And I'm happy about it, I won't be too disappointed when WWE fucks up Royal Rumble number 5 in a row.
Absolutely... her eliminating Khali is probably on one of their Most Memorable 20 Royal Rumble moments videos. So she's both highly memorable and yet somehow completely forgettable at the same time?
No, no, no. I remember watching one where one of the Bushwhackers literally came in one side of the ring and was thrown out the other immediately. Couldn't have been in the ring for more than 5 seconds total. Edit: Ok, 1991 Royal Rumble.. he was in the ring for 4 seconds.
8:24 this in incorrect, The Red Rooster was in the royal rumble match in 1989. He came in at 25 and lasted 11 minutes before getting thrown out by Ted Dibiase.
Actually The Red Rooster participated in TWO Rumble Matches: 1989 he was Entrant #25 and got eliminated by Ted DiBiase after 11 minutes, in 1990 he was Entrant #12 and was eliminated by Andre the Giant after not even 2 minutes in the match.
There are a lot of adams at wc, plus Vince doesn’t ruin everything, I watched raw 25, Vince created wrestling and we all awarded him with a cheaply made plaque.
Well now that I’ve seen your disrespect to Psicosis, I can tell you are not a professional wrestling fan, but a WWE fan. Why and how did you get the job to do this video?
mainly because taz was on borrowed time due to injuries. when he arrived in the wwf in 2000 he was actually getting a bit of pushes for the ic and european titles almost winning them but someone always came in causing the dq.
I liked Tazz, but he was never on Austin's level. He never went anywhere in WWE because they wanted to book him as the scrappy underdog and he wanted to be booked as the monstrous destroyer. He simply told Vince that he wasn't a good seller and needed to be on offense most of the time. Unfortunately he was 5'7" and his suplexes were too dangerous for the WWE.
Michael Cole made perfect fucking sense. He was essentially a part time wrestler at the time, and when both Booker and King were allowed to enter, it made perfect fucking sense to include Cole as well. It was a good heel move, and when combined with the Kharma return, Cole shitting his pants, and Booker and King eliminating him to get revenge, it all added up perfectly.
Two points of interest! 1) Terry Taylor WAS in a second Rumble. In 1989 he entered under the guise of The Red Rooster and was tossed by The Million Dollar Man. 2) Epico, from the 2012 Rumble, lasted 11 seconds. This was his only ever appearance in the match and would make the top three of your list. Love the content, love the channel.
"The Rooster's last pay-per-view appearance was as a participant in the 1990 Royal Rumble match (replacing The Widow Maker), where he lasted only two minutes before being eliminated by André the Giant." HA, 30 one-time entrants huh? Taylor appeared more than once
I remember a lot of these entries, you actually missed A LOT of throw away entries and put in people who were actually at least relevant mid-carders at one point in WWE...
I seem to recall one of the Bushwhackers walking to the ring for a rumble. Doing the signature up and down with the arms the whole way to the ring. They got in the ring and was immediately pushed out and eliminated and then continued doing the arms thing all the way to the back.
Actually, Terry Taylor participated in 2 Royal Rumbles as the Red Rooster in 1989 and 1990. In 1989, he lasted 11:17 and was eventually eliminated by Ted DiBiase. In 1990, he lasted 1:58 and was eliminated by Andre the Giant.
Which means that if you go to the hall of fame in the future, Kurt Angle WILL be there. That's how time works. Well, unless he does a sex tape and uses the "N" word. Then, not so much.
What burns me up is that they set Gilberg on a quest to have the longest streak of absolutely no wins to contrast Goldberg's undefeated streak,... and before they could even get to double digits (I think only three matches even) they threw it all away when they gave him the Light Heavyweight Championship.... Dammit Vince, you ruin EVERYTHING
You know, if you guys (WC) ever actually watched WCW before 2000, and didn’t watch it just to trash it, you’d actually know a lot more about how badass dudes like Psychosis really were
Psicosis was a legend. Go back and watch his matches vs Rey Mysterio in ECW and realise that he helped define the extreme luchalibre style which is basically what most modern indy wrestling is based on.
It's hard to believe that Duane "Gillberg" Gill lasted longer in a Royal Rumble match than both The Warlord and Santino Marella combined (1 second each)
Bushwhacker Luke anyone? I remember one Rumble- I think it was either in '94 or 95- in which he walked down to the ring and was eliminated almost as soon as he stepped through the ropes. Probably took all of ten seconds.
Some of them are actually the best and most memorable Royal Rumble entrants in history like Hassan, Sylvan Grenier and Jamie Noble. You can't go wrong with mid-carders, they're actually "real" wrestlers.
There is one wrestler in this list especially that I can't believe you don't remember. How can you call yourself a wrestling journalist without remembering this man's great achievements in the 90s??? I am of coarse talking about Salvador Sincere. THE MAN HAD AN UNBEATEN STREAK BEFORE GOLDBERG EXISTED!!! THIS WAS 1996!!!! Pity it only lasted about 12 weeks.....
