Need to quickly share files from a Linux computer to other computers in your home network including Windows machines? I'll show you how to set this up and share specific folders in less than a minute using SimpleHTTPServer. No additional software is needed and no configuration will be necessary on the client machines.
Hope this helps you out. Thank you for watching.

Thank you so much. I needed this. I can even access my Linux computer from the browser using my Android phone. So helpful when in my ME room. Now I need to check if it works from my Android tablet. At first it didn't work because only one device can access it at a time. Awesome. TY again.

Too cool! I just installed LM 19 on my brand new LT. This will make transferring what I need from my main LM DT computer way easier. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for this great tip. :) I was wondering if you would create a video that shows how to connect a backup unit (say a Seagate Backup Plus unit) to the usb port on a router (say a DLink DIR-850L) so that you can use the Seagate to backup both a LinuxMint 19.1 PC and a Windows 10 PC - automatically every morning at 3:00 am. I've looked at many tutorials but they are not as clear and concise as your videos, and are confusing. Thanks, Rob.

+budderscerna Thank you. I suggest A grades for all who watched it and an A+ for anyone who watched it with their eyes open the whole time.

Thanks for the info. I'll be trying this out the next time I need to transfer files from one computer to another. Much better than my sneakernet.

Hi Frank! Thanks for this great video! Love it!!! Maybe you could explain a way to make this constant, i mean, that it doesn't disappear after every restart. (at least for me it does :-() I'm a noob, I know ;-)

Nice setup, but how do you save a file " to " the server ?
@FranksHelpdesk
@FranksHelpdesk 8 лет назад
+J Crewp Sneakernet works, but the best solution is to setup a proper file server if you need 2-way sharing. This method is good for quickly sharing things like media files from your main computer to other ones in the house. I actually have a vid in the works now on setting up a regular file server for home use. Should be out in the next week or 2.
