@@kirkragland7563 It's a RAP4 stock for a paintball gun. I had to modify the mounting piece, since the tank set up is different from a paintball gun's tank.
Whoa 0.30 cal, fantastic! I remember as a kid in 69 picking up the Diabolo tin (they weren't thirty cal then) in my dad's office and then asking him for a shoot LOL. Great looking rifle!
Yep, there’s a certain sound and feel when an airgun sipping air just right to make good power but not wasting air. Seems like this gun makes that sound with the 2 oring buffers and set for a power level in the mid 70sFPE.
hehe as pressure drops, valve stays open longer, more power, more air pushed out and more noise...........anyhow i made my own .300 out of an SS it did the same..orings gets crushed over time and was inconsistent for me....especially from tuning in basement, and then out in the cold.....plastic worked better, but slowly got flattened as well.....i tried metal washers, but they didnt slide consistently either....i tried gluing the metal washer to the tank and that worked until glue gave up.....i made a new tophat that could limit valve travel and that was the ONLY thing that worked .......also a bigger delrin valve seal worked out pretty good too, but then i had to depressurize every time i wanted to make a change....mine was making about 230 fpe with 114gr slug and 21" barrel......i then was able to get a quackenbush blemished barrel in 32" .457....and with 500 grain that sucker was pushing 601fpe...this was 15 years ago...long before texans :-)
High powered airguns used to be one of my main hobbies. Many of them can be hot-rodded for firearm-like power. These days I just keep them as useful homestead tools.

What is that Talon tunes breech made from is it plastic too or milled Aluminium? Are you still loving this gun? I can't remember if u told me this or not?
Seems to be. I’ve only shot up close within 30 yards for the time being. I can do 1 hole groups at that range with the red dot at the lower power levels. I haven’t shot groups at 105fpe.
The stock can be found in paintball parts on eBay or online the used on m4 paint ball guns took me a while evnix is the first air gun that I seen them on stock. Hope that helps 👍👌✌️💯🥂🎯
I really like the Airforce brand and recommend anyone who wants a dedicated hunting airgun to go with them. Which model depends on where you want to balance power, shot count between air fills, weight, and length. All of the Condor/Talon/Escape models are generally the same gun in different configurations so you could pick one model up front then evolve it towards another model with interchangeable parts. Most people would probably find their needs met in a Condor SS in .25. It comes suppressed so its quiet and is a good balance between weight, length, and power. Are you still in Australia?
@@Florida_Bullfrog Ok u know what sucks being out of the USA, these Airforce PCP's are over 3000 Aussie dollars LOL. I know that 750 USD in any way shape or form does not equal 3000 bucks!! I really like ho the barrel looks protected and this si a good thing in case of a knock while hunting but 3000 Aussie dollars or over 1500 EUR is just way too much mark up. I can't believe this. The won't sell too many model out of the USA at that pricing I reckon.
@@islacouledouce In Australia they are some crazy price but I forgot we also get a tax break for goods up to 1000 Australian dollars. Thanks for that, anyway, I ended up getting a Reximex 0.22Cal and will just keep using my bow for medium to large game. Thanks for watching!
@@Florida_Bullfrog Right I just visited their sight and was hooked on those Holographic sights but they are beyond my budget. I wanted to get a 30cal similar to yours but in my neck of the woods, the price is too high because of import tax, although the guys at AF said they would send me one, I'm at the mercy of customs, not to worry i'm going to get something else but wanted your opinion on the sights.
I forgot to respond to your question about AF alternatives. Can you name some brands that your market does carry for more affordable prices? As for sights, I only use expensive sights on my high end guns. I have used a cheap $20 red dot off of Amazon on a .22LR and found it passible. The brand “Truglo” makes some decent quality red dots in the low $100s US price range.
If you tried to recreate the .30 Airforce in this video it would require an aftermarket barrel as Airforce doesn’t sell this model in .30. Airforce does make larger models in .30/.308 that have more power but are heavier. I think you’d enjoy the lightest carbine you can get that still has the power to get the job done.
@@Florida_Bullfrog Ok, so the PCP i have is a Reximex Throne .22Cal and I intend to hunt pheasants (not by flushing with dogs but awaiting them moving between trails-i have scoped out many great locations for this). The range would be max 30m based upon some experiments we did the other day, if not down to almost (LOL) sling shot distance!0 but seriously, I looked at this scope (BSA Essencial optics 3-9x40 IR) today but to be honest I've only ever used scopes during night time hunting and so have zero experience with daylight hunting with them and i do not plan to hunt during the evening again. So my question is up until say around dusk-but not full darkness how would i get on with a red dot? I know you are into the Turkeys. value your opinion here.
It might come close, because my barrel is very short on the TalonP. If you got a kit with a full length 20-22” barrel you are going to make a lot more power so long as your AF is using an up to date valve
