30 Things SECRETLY Removed In Fortnite! 

I honestly don’t know why they changed the locker when the last patch before chapter 5 was way better than current one. Now it was confusing and sometimes rage inducing when emotes are completely separated from the main outfit category. I really hope they somewhat revert this since it’s kinda a major inconvenience in terms of changing outfits between matches

The mud being removed kind of reminds me of the sand being removed. They could have added it anywhere but they chose to get rid of it and it was an amazing feature and I want it back

The changes to the locker are probably the most inexplicable. Like, they very objectively made it MORE complicated in what was very obviously an attempt to make it easier to navigate given the new items. But now you need to equip character, emote, wrap, and lobby customizations in separate groups and then trued to compensate by giving you all the customization presets, likely character-based, you had beforehand in every group and introduced even more visual clutter with no mass-delete feature.

The map is insane but most of the other features like locker or movement was completely butchered for no reason

Honestly out of all the seasons , even right now , I definitely prefer Chapter 2 over all other chapters. Including this new one m it just felt more….flexible and simple compared to all the ones that came after.

I love their attempt at making the gameplay more fast paced by increasing how fast the storm is. However, that change is practically useless if our characters can barely run or walk fast enough to not get destroyed by it in seconds. If they want faster storms, they have to either increase regular movement speed or increase the amount of time you can sprint. Otherwise, it’s not very fun. Having your biggest enemy be the storm is not the greatest thing when you’re supposed to be fighting other people. And the amount of bots need to be decreased more too. Still too many.

Honestly I like alot about this new season. The movement is kinda weird but that's just cause I'm not used to it and I'll get used to it eventually. The only thing I really don't like is the locker change, it's so weird having to go to all the different sections in the locker for EVERYTHING, plus I had all my presets organised in sections like my mains, randoms, icons ect. Now they're all bunched up and weird. Also has anyone else noticed that when you go into the styles of a skin it auto equips that skin? Like sometimes I just wanna look at the styles, doesn't mean I want the skin equiped. They also made it more difficult to favourite items, before I just had to press down on the right joystick of my controller and now I have to go down to options go down again past archive THEN favourite it. I understand making the different sections for the new gamemodes but the regular locker could have stayed as it was. Idk if I'm the only one feeling this way or not but yeah, everything else this season is pretty good though.

Companies love changing stuff for no good reason, but when the thing you’re changing is in one of the biggest games of all time, you can’t expect people to like it. Do we want FN to feel like a “new game?” If Fortnite og should’ve taught epic anything, more people want the old stuff back.

For the movement, the only two options that they can either go with is going back to how it was, or increase the speed.

The med spray would still be usefull and preferable since it allows you to keep what ever was left of healing plus having an aditional 50 points of healing even if it's less total healing than 2 medkits it would be more versatile at keeping you toped off from storm damage or geting poked during a fight trough medalions. My guess is they removed it because of medalions since it would allow you to be at full health all the time.

6:40 I feel like this a much easier solution than the quests. First off, you could only do 1 urgent quest a match, and sure *some* of them were easy, but not for the average Joe player just trying to get the rewards, whereas storm circle are much more universally easy, anybody could camp and get an easy 5-11 circles, plus you could even possibly get two rewards in a single match. Overall I feel like this is a definite positive for rank, it doesn't force you to do something and you can just play out the match the way you want.

If they increased the running speed, I would be ok with the change

Just when I thought Epic has changed Fortnite for the better, but then they just had to slap us in the face.

med mist was great to have health when you just needed a little, but didn't want to drop the whole item.

Is it just me or has been getting xp been really difficult

Out of all the changes they made with this season, for me the new locker U.I is definitely the most annoying. It made things way more complicated, especially because I had every thing organized to my liking and now if I want to play as a certain character I have to equip the skin, the emotes, and the music separately, which is really annoying.

If Fortnite doesn't bring jogging back, I may not play anymore. Movement sucks now, I can't travel anywhere! Especially since the new map is huge, it really sucks. It's so hard to fight, or run away from fights. Sprinting isn't constant so it doesn't really help me when I'm out of stamina. Really hope epic at least makes us move faster.

Epic games: slows the player movement and makes storm faster. Also epic games: "why is everyone hating this chapter? Is mean't to be better"

What I don’t get is people who slam Friday Colin’s for the changes to movement. He just created the new animations, not the statistical changes

This is a bit of a hot take, but here me out: I think Epic vaulted exotics from the game since this is technically a remixed version of Chapter 2, and in Chapter 2 season 1 there were no exotics. I feel like they also changed movements in the game to reflect the UI/graphics overall given at the launch of Chapter 2, again further cementing the idea that this is a remixed version of Chapter 2

I think the worst thing is that the locker sets are now seperated between skins, emotes, lobby stuff and the other new stuff. It annoys me because I had different emotes and loading screens and such for most of my sets and now I would have to switch them all seperately. And I don't understand why they changed it when it worked well enough already.

0:24 they are not removed, sorta, if you hire a npc(idk which one) the npc will give you the og bandage

i feel like they did to much, they change alot of things really quickly and made it like more realistic

i honestly wished that the new healing system was like med mist, use what you need, and save the rest for later. but they instead just waste the whole item

It feels like this is one of the largest battle passes we’ve had and they have got rid of the best ways to gain XP

They should do a season or at least an event where every single weapon ever (even event weapons) is unvaulted and it's just pure chaos

My favorite part of this season has been all the guns besides the shotties being projectile based, every shot from a rifle feels satisfyingly weighty.

2:20 there are story quests arriving in the next few days you can check this by going to the quest rewards notice you can't unlock them yet

I don’t know who at epic thought these would be good changes! The healing thing pisses me off as much as the movement. Everything else whatever but come on.

personally I liked moving llamas because they would drop heals and ammo while running away and if you couldn't get them it offered a rift to rotate

8:19 I think the Time Machine went with the rocket into the zero point, possible that was the reason why we were in different realities (advertisements) and jones probably got sucked in the black hole with us, so did the bridge aka the area where the imposters map used to take place

The change to the locker UI has also been deleting presets for people

I personally like the old movement better but others like the new movement. And everyone are kinda fighting over the old movement to come back and for the new movement to stay. So I think fortnite should add a new setting that says "Movement Type" this will allow you to choose the movement you want. If you want the old movement turn off "Movement Type" but if you want the new movement turn on "Movement Type". If this is possible then fortnite should definitely do this. This would make everyone happy and satisfied.

I think it’s a downgrade that you can’t pick up ammo while healing or you lose the item when you drop it. That’s unnecessary change if you ask me

I personally feel like Epic wants to move away from its story. The lack of live events at then ends of the various seasons of Chapter 4 was kinda evidence for that fact. Pretty much, everything story related has been attached to quests and crew pack skins. I've totally lost track of Fortnite's ongoing story and I'm quite sad to see it be mistreated this way. Hopefully something happens with it this season.

Well I didn't expect they'd immidiately have the flowers from the jungle in this season, it's something in the game if they make another foliage based biome in the future, but I didn't think it'd be constantly in the game. Unrelated to the new season I found it quite funny in Ch4S3 they added the jungle, and as a counter added thermal vission and with it came 2 augments, a fish and the thermal DMR, but next season they just removed all of those but the DMR (which now also had a non thermal rarity) even though the jungle was obviously still in the game.

Actually, there is still a point to medmist. You keeps the item when you stop using it.

They also removed a template in creative where you cannot get the Fortnite island anymore leading me to wonder why did they get rid of it I've tried everything to find out why they did this but with nothing I even tried to comment about it on Twitter and the still haven't responded to me If anyone has any answers please let me know

I feel we didnt get the og models last season becase last season was probably rushed that may be why we also didnt get the mini live events and other big poi. So i feel like the next time they bring the map back in 2024, theyll have more time to add everything

I absolutely love this season. Besides the movement. Moving feels like you're walking through mud

The craziest part is that I haven’t even played the new chapter and I already hate it. When I have time to play it, I’ll be spending a lot of my time in creative maps for XP. Fortnite has changed so much with great features but horrible movement.

1:30 Looks like the last update this morning added animated icon backgrounds for the Gaming Legends Series and Icon Series rarities. IDK if any other rarity has this yet though but I am sure the rest of these extra rarities do as well.

I think they made explosive very annoying so they had a good excuses to get rid of them

So far Chapter 5 is pretty great! I can’t wait for the Lego Collab! I will definitely build Lego in Creative myself! (If you see this, I hope you like the builds I make) :)

6:51 I got that one super easy because outlasting players is so much easier than shooting at them, after you clear them you get a repatable for XP. (I'm also on Uncommon 4 of the survivor medals right now because sometimes I do manage to get one or two (one time around five) eliminations in)

In zero build there is a bush grenade to give you some kind of cover.

Notes: 1. I'm pretty sure you can still get shield pots from ammo boxes. 2. Augments are coming back (look at the Milestones quest tab). 3. I'm also pretty sure that slipstreams / wind tunnels have been removed.

Top 5 gaming... Maybe the reason why reality augments and rift encounters aren't a thing any more because that was introduced in chapters 3 and 4. We went back in time to og Fortnite and experienced a different event than the previous end event. Chapter 5 is just a newer version of chapter 2 right? Maybe that's why😊. Love your content! I love the animations of movement but hate the speed if they increased it Everyone will be happy

I personally like the new changes (except the storm circle cahnge, but they made it slower again)

I also thing epic decreased the amound of weapons spawning. Sometimes I am going threw the entire floor just to find one item that is not even a weapon.

I’d argue med mist is still very useful being able to move while u heal and it heals decently quick and being able to stop healing and start healing again at any time without losing the item is pretty useful especially since it healed 150 and there was also the ability to heal ur tm8s with it so it definitely is not useless

Between the movement and storm changes and lack of mobility items I've noticed more players actually play for engagements rather than just hyper mobility and consumeables.

I get a lot why they removed some of this stuff but the movement is HORRIBLE! It’s a free headshot and back to the lobby for the players. Especially with the weapon mods and snipers. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD MOVEMENT EPIC!!! 😢

0:56 that’s precisely the problem. We don’t want it to feel like a new game, we want to play FORTNITE. Not a call of duty clone. They had perfected the game literally last week, only to throw that out the window for whatever the bell chapter 5 is supposed to be.

Everything feels better in terms of moving around and being agile. Tbh I don’t mind the speed that much but it does cause a bit of a issue sense the storm is faster

Chapter 5 really is looking like the worst. So many good items and features have been removed I’m honestly convinced season 2 NEEDS to be good and bring back old features just for chapter 5 to survive

ok im ngl i love the new movement system as it feels more balanced. also removing daily quests and replacing them with match quests was an amazing decision as now you get a new quest every round meaning theres no stop to the grind 🔥

A combo between the 2 would be cool. If you sneak up on it you can pet "search" it. If you shoot or hurt it it runs away.

One change you didn't mention is the one I loathe the most, the locker change where I have to upload each section of my saved characters instead of loading all at once. Definitely doesn't encourage me to want to buy new skins just to take 5 minutes just to load my characters full set up 🙄 oh and some of my saved characters, gone from the save characters list... bad very bad change epic!

I feel like they made a step backwards from chapter 4 and 2 steps to the side from fortnite og, when they could've just stuck to the simplicity of OG and paired it with some additions from chapter 4

Basically removed everything and added a couple new bells and whistles, This season ain’t off to a great start

And another thing that sucks is they removed crystal color for spectra knight

2:49 | Btw if anyone was wondering, which no one probably was, just wanted to point out that here when he shows the storm speeding through the map on his mini-map you can see the storm timer being sped up.

I think they removed the exp from the audio logs and stuff because of the new modes. I think you get exp from the new modes so the audio logs exp and others dont really matter

Although some of the changes that were made are pointless the season did just start, it will take time for stuff to be changed back and added. Just give it time yall they will fix things within time.

This season has been the one where they fixed a bunch of stuff that wasn't broken.. and they broke it.

trust me i definitely realized that we couldn’t hide in dumpsters when i was running from a player and then got my back blown out by a shotgun

honestly the only thing i am mad about is the abundance of shot guns and snipers as well as having to survive storm circles in comp which the abundance of shotgun spam kinda makes very hard.

Fun Fact: Med kits, small pots, big shields and bandages are all new healing items. Yes, if u dive into ur creative island u will find two equal healing items, only that the old ones have "og" (idk how this appears in english I'm Spaniard) and imply that u can't move.

(Small theory) i think they got rid of the heals from big ammo boxes because they couldn't fix it possibly glitching in battle royale and giving old heals where you had to hide when healing(small theory)

Change the UI back. This is possibly the worst change they’ve ever done.

They also removed the back to top button in the locker. Now I have to sift through dozens of things just to get to the top.

I love how in the solid snake update they bought a lot of these back, or at least revealed they will be bought back in the future. I believe the next update will bring Augments and A story quest

The one thing this season that has kept me from playing is the stupid Family guy collab. I promised myself that if Fortnite and Family guy ever got a collab I wouldn’t play until they do another spy season or a new Skye variant.

I think the reason they got no storyline is because after the Big Bang it rebirthed the zero point so there probably thinking of a new remixed storyline from chapter 2 - 4 since this chapter kinda looks like chapter 2
