My favorite thing is that there's not a single elevator in the entire NMS universe, unless you count the space station landing pads that move slightly up. I like to think that the ATLAS never learned about elevators and never incorporated them into the simulation
Imagine sitting back with the boys, cracking a cold one and then hitting them with the "you guys wanna make a procedurally generated space game?". Well, that probably wasn't how it happened, but I sure am glad we got this game anyways.
I actually figured out the deciphering of written alien words when I once put all those large golden expedition decals up on my freighter's interior wall and noticed the writings on them saying which expedition they're from. It was pretty cool as I was always wondering if all those strange symbols on space stations and everything had any meaning.
I love, love that there is a chair on the top of the pirate hauler! I never knew it and I am surprised by how much happiness it provides sitting my traveller in it XD
Wow, did not know alot of that! Somewhere half way through this video, I got a real heart warming feeling. Just saying for me I always enjoyed No Man's Sky and I love this video. Seeing the game grow and having such a great game to get lost in when I'm not overwhelmed with 1st world problems. Man I love this game and the great community with it. 😁
Your creativity and work on the channel are unique, like this salad, I have 800 hours of playing No Man's Sky, and you didn't lie that I learned something new, thank you! About Easter eggs it would be great to watch a video about movies or books that were inspired by the developers for the game No Man's Sky.
Thanks! I'm on the fence about whether I want to include references/inspirations from other media in my Easter Eggs video or create another video entirely. I might end up having a mix and then doing a references video later. The game is so vast it takes a while to gather these things up. Haha Thanks for watching!
The only two things I knew before hand was the freighter crew being based on the system and the ladders in the hanger. It's kinda funny, the moment I noticed those cranes, I immediately attempted to climb the ladders and was super happy for such a small interaction! Also great video :D
You know, I actually try loggin in and out continuously just to see what opening track I'll get next time, curious to know which one is the most AMSR xD
Most of them are amazingly beautiful, but there's one in particular which consists on a single glitch sound that repeats every certain time, without evolving. It's kinda jarring. And I say that as someone who enjoys noise music.
The broken screen in the Nexus is there for a reason I think... the same symbols appear on derelict freighters and on the Exotic Biomes with the capped shrooms and one other... I think its a sign that the corruption has even reached the Nexus.
@@Kanaju Hahaha... Honestly think Hello Games drops in these things to get us guessing... like the language/font, that had been in the game for sometime we only spotted it on the companions update and the egg machine made it noticeable... The Golden Gek Battle Helmet reward has the font on, surprised that didn't make it into your 30... Making a video now on that Nexus Console will give this video a mention. I didn't know 29 with the old NPC models, and I didn't know about the chair on top of the hauler in the Pirate systems... So you got me on two of them for sure !!!
The 27th fact made me remember what I want on Base Building for years: An actuall Ladder that actually snaps on top of each other instead of me, trying to allign them for hours on a wooden wall because they are made to snap only outside cube structures. I mean, The ramps are nice, but actuall vertical ladders are useful in base building. I'm tired of trying to do a cool base having to exploit the game. Those things are hard. XD I wish HG just added a small team to enhance base building little by little, because every single major update adds stuff and removes more stuff too XD
i always think i’ve learned pretty much everything about nms, but kanaju somehow manages to actually bring to our attention something that really isn’t known
The fighter at 5:32 is totally possible to spawn procedurally in the game, although it would include decals that aren't present in the derelict version. Interestingly, that ship that's crashed through the ceiling at the entrance sometimes is also impossible due to the cockpit being the 'X-Wing' type, which is not at all compatible with the nose it has.
I especially miss the old Traveler outfits. They had cool armor and cloth details. I think we're due for more player customization anyway. Thanks for commenting!
I liked the wild size discrepancies. It makes sense that these intergalactic aliens would have genetic offshoots from settlers born on harsh planets and stuff. Like giant musclebound vykeen from high gravity worlds or a Korvax occupying the goliath armored shell of his slave gladiator ancestor. Multi-eyed spindly Gek who were born, live, and die as deep space traders. There's a whole world of possibility, because right now all of the NPC's fit almost the exact same mold.
Great video. No Man's Sky may well be (now) the greatest computer game ever made. No matter what "New" games come out, and get played for a month or two, NMS is always a game I find myself loading when I'm on autopilot. No other game has affected me as much, and has taken up more hours of my life.
Same here. The only game which has more hours of play is Fallout 4 - like 6464 hours to date! - but it came out ten months earlier. And my NMS playcount has glitched a big update ago. It lists at 2100+ hours, and a year ago it was at 3400, so it could easily be 4000+ hours by now.
See this is the type of content that you don’t get from many RU-vidrs! I enjoy both the big news and these very fun and interesting videos as well! Keep up the good work buddy, your content is fresh and loved by many!!!
The clear floor is still available in flatscreen mode. Just turn your graphics setting down a bit. Even though my pc can handle the high end graphics I still use the low setting just because I like the clear floors more. I got a really high framerate too.
Number 10. The amount of times those NPCs have given me a heartache in VR because they get stuck on that door is embarrassing. Get a surprise face full of Vykeen out of nowhere just for going to check the market terminal.
I knew maybe 1/2 Of this. The max 4+Billion unit max always bugged me cuz they really don't give enough big -ticket items to spend it on. But now I see they can't increase it easily. But they could give us more big-ticket items
Now I really really really want those sentinel multitools, like right now!!! I don't care about the alien or experimental or royal ones, this is the coolest one I've ever seen.
Funny thing, first day on the outlaws update, i found the chair on the hauler, sat on it, and immediately fell through the station, every time xD At least It got fixed pretty quickly
Worth the watch, thanks fellow traveler & your one of my top NMS RU-vidR. ENJOY ALL OF YOUR VIDS or most I've watched so far that's actually pretty unique and cool. 🎉
My geknip farm consists of 216 plants in my freighter it was built before the update. I knew something was different when I got back on, it’s neat to see it become a piece of game history and I’m glad they didn’t get rid of that. I farm it all up and go give it to people in the Anomaly🙂
@@_the_Nochad same thing and just don’t carry it on your persons and they won’t detect it. I keep whatever I farm stored in the freighter until ready to sell
13:01 I discovered this one by accident. I hadn't even noticed there were ladders there. I just walked by and the character started the climbing animation. I had to climb it to the top. But it's actually useful if you want to see if there are new ships entering the cargo ship from a high position, although you can do that by using the main stairs that bring you access to the command bridge.
I also wish we could drive that crane. And I don't know why the Nomad is so unpopular, the Minotaur is the best, but for zooming around the Nomad is perfect, the only 2 exocraft I use. For all my love of the nomad I'd never noticed that badge.
reg 26 I don't think they change based on system, but the frigates you have. Inside the building area there are wondering NPCs and if you talk to them they are sometimes introduced as the captains of your frigates, but they change also. I think they are just various captains randomly selected from your frigate list. Since most people pickup frigates of all types, you see your crew changes races too.
Love listening to you. You are a great dialogue creator. Wish you had a beginners guide and game play for 2024 newbies. Been playing almost a week. It’s been so fun yet frustrating at times. I’ve reached the anomaly and 3 space stations. Understanding the dynamics and gleaning alien language with galactic movement…well it’s very puzzling. Thank you for all the amazing content creation.
Once found a planet with "extreme weather conditions". It was always raining and the "extreme conditions" came from superheated rainstorms so naturally i named it "RainWorld"
I don't know if this is a useless fact or just common knowledge, but I played for several hundred hours before I noticed the Vy'keen actually do say "grah" sometimes at the beginning of the voice acting. Usually it just sounded like a bunch of lion or bear grunts to me.
It is possible to find a fighter that is *almost* identical to the ones parked on derelict, nose and all, but this type of side thrusters *always* comes with random additional wing parts.
Most if not all explorers hunt for rare ships You sir are the king of unique finds. I mean who wouldn't want to eat the one and only salad in the game! 😁
I find the lack of popularity towards the Nomad to be pretty crazy since it's the only one that can go over water. Also, I don't know if you covered it, but the save beacons use a small render of Earth
I know this video is a few months old, but for #7 there's now 2 unique ships, that being the Utopia Speeder and Golden Vector (both are now unobtainable by normal gameplay means, but can still be modded in with save editing tools)
I don't know, if this is common knowledge or not, since I picked up the game again after 3 months of not playing. Addition to fact #28; You used to be able to place a "previous base item cache" or a "base salvage capsule" in your freighter, though it would never work and would always return an error saying "Can't open, Inventory Full". But now that the freighters have gotten a major overhaul (at some point during my hiatus) to their interior design and functions, these previous base caches now work! However, if you didn't have this item already placed before the update, you can't construct it anymore. So they fixed it's functionality on the freighter, but you can't construct it anymore. Even if you have it constructed, you cannot move it. When you try to move it and place it somewhere, it says that there isn't a base nearby. If you move it and try to cancel the moving, the construction just disappears. I had mine more for decorative purposes, but it's nice to know that it now functions like normal.
Actually, they did work.... the part that didn't work was the audio. What it was actually saying was that there was nothing inside of it. There is a video about this, I can't remember who did it but yeah, I caught that part too and then watched the video. Thats the only reason I know what I'm saying right now. I always thought they were broken before that too
@@psychwardgaming7701 There goes my memory again. I trust what you're saying here, but I still have my materials from my first base from about a year ago in there. I never removed them and yet the cache still didn't work. I distictly remember the "inventory full" error message popping up every time, even if I had an empty inventory. Odd, but I think there's a solid explanation to it and/or something I'm still missing in this.
On my old original save before my ps4 had an issue and the save got deleted, I actually had some classic korvax models on my old freighter, I honestly miss some of the old outfits especially the old traveller models
There is hope. They re-ran the first 4 expeditions in early winter last year. They most likely will do the same again. We can't know if it'll be just this year's or all, however... Considering NMS is about to launch on Nintendo Switch, I'd bet all 8 will make brief returns. Well, I hope they do. There is one other way you could get one tomorrow, but it won't be available through QS store. It'll be a regular ship, with the GV skin. Join Friday Community Night with the following Tubers Flourysquirrel Xxoiu CatrienW They also have other items to give out, like impossible pets. It's fun and it's livestreamed. You'll find info on their channels. See you there!
The game can still render the old ship models too. Sometimes when I enter a new system the ships will be the old tiny versions from the launch version. I think the textures are still updated though.
I think that's a bug introduced in Endurance, since living ships will also appear smaller despite never being present prior to BEYOND when starship models were replaced.
@@Kanaju I thought they did discontinue some ship parts around the time of NEXT though. I don’t remember for sure. I guess that would make the fighter I have on my day 1 save super valuable. It’s a nice sleek design that I thought looked cool at the time. Ship class didn’t matter a whole lot back then and so the stats are kind of shitty even to this day.
@@LeTtRrZ Some people claim there are certain shuttle parts that aren't used any more, but I haven't been able to verify this myself. Regardless, even ships with discontinued parts use updated models and textures. Whereas discontinued NPCs have different models, older textures, and unique animations. At least that's how I distinguish them.
@@Kanaju Weren’t there also some ships that came with the photonix core preinstalled even after the photonix core blueprint was discontinued? Those ships might be quite valuable to those who have them, but I doubt they are transferable with the photonix core intact.
Excellent video! However... a Ladder??? What is this 2016??!! A few days ago while cleaning out my freighter inventory, I realized I still have a number of removed items such as TetraCobalt. They waste slots, but I'm keeping them anyway.
Here's a fact that's useless because why would you experience it! While playing my challenge run - getting off-planet without ever lifting off in a ship - I discovered a few strange things. For example, interacting with any of the floating ball trade terminal POIs on the planet would just play the "registering iteration" text from the start. Also, since I had to rely on the friendliness of the local Vy'keen, I learned that they can teach you recipes! Incredibly useful without access to the anomaly, especially since I couldn't install the terrain manipulator. If you're curious, it took about fifteen hours, give or take an hour or so.
how did you managed to get those old freighter npc models on their stations? i had a vague memory of seeing them on my freighter once but, i feel like my brain is lying to me... also, amazing useless facts, I really enjoy these kinds of lists and compilations, loved the video!
Same. Although, tbh, since they've been with me for all these years, I didn't realize until recently that they weren't in the game any longer. I do miss them though!
I haven't seen a vy'keen like that since i had put the game down years ago due to having a kid and no time as a single dad. Now he's older and we both play..... so yay for that
I really wish expeditions were continuously accessible. It would promote more multiplayer and hello games wouldn’t be following toxic gaming elements like “expiring one time only things” or at least put the rewards in the quicksilver vendor..
I find it interesting that hello games used a non-findable ship model for the derelict freighters. I wonder if the four-box ship wings were cut content for ship generation.
Hey, about the old freighter parts u had mentioned... I kept mine as well, however, I can still build the old freighter hallways and such, even the A,B and C rooms. Not sure how or why hut they are still in my build options and still a viable choice, I just checked to make sure this was still true today, at 12:42 am on Saturday September 10th.... and it is.
#25 doesn’t have different planets, it just gets progressively more detailed versions of the same planet (compare the land masses at the bottom of the planet they’re 1-1)
I'd be interested to see a comparison of launch vs current state, I only started in 2019 so I missed the early days and have no memory of how things were, I am one of the people who joined after news did the rounds of how much the game improved, and also ps4 got a free no man's sky for ps+ one month... The longer the game goes on it seems like looking back is going to be like archeology, trying to figure out a lost civilization
Back when I changed computers, the Steam cloud messed up and I lost several months of progress including all of the Expeditions I did. All of the rewards vanished too, including my Golden Vector. I had deleted most of my bases and moved to the Center. Now it's all back and the Center is far far away again. My settlement dropped from am S to a B. I just got it back to A . Mot too long ago HG redid all of the expeditions. I hope they do it again.
@@fallout_hun My old computer got hit by lightning so I got a new one. I've had no problem reinstalling the game in the past so I was pretty disappointed when this happened. Love my new 'outer tho'
Late to this video. But a useless lore fact I discovered recently, while going through some of terminals you can only access after the story and with a v3 atlas pass. Is that our character the traveler is the creator of the Atlas. The Atlas created a version of the creator in the simulation, because the real one had to leave for some reason.
