I would personally love a video that explains the rules for Irish plurals. I don’t understand the pattern.

Herb -the plant stuff-. Is borrowed from the French and was used in British English When colonists arrived they maintained the French pronunciation while the Brits started pronouncing the “H” later on. So at one time the Brits also pronounced it sans “H”

I am learning Irish for the first time. Family immigrated to the U.S.A shortly before the thirty years war, and my Grandparents were told not to speak it. So I enjoy being able to educate myself. Thank you for these awesome videos!

I just wanted to let you know that I named my "Blue Nosed" Pitt Bull "Gorm". Many people named their Blue Nosed Pitts "Blue'. I did not want my dog to be like every other, and since I am of Irish descent, I looked up on YT for the word for Blue in the Irish Celtic language. One of your videos came up. Using the information that you presented, I named my dog Gorm. Thank you for the knowledge and the name.

In B. C. Canada during the recent heat wave on 29-30 june the sea water was literally boiling and the shellfish got cooked, ready to serve but some 2 billion of those creatures just perished from the heat or boiling sea water. Russian arctic is also recording extreme heat. Ireland is bit protected by the North sea I guess.

You’ve mentioned that you have an Ulster accent. If you don’t mind me asking, would you consider yourself a loyalist? I just thought it was interesting to hear of someone in Ulster caring about the Irish language.

A person can be simultaneously loyal to any community politics that still has real humanity while being loyal to the principles of linguistic & cultural mutual respect and to joy in diversity. Perhaps investigate Turas of East Belfast.

Does the ingressive inhalation, a sharp intake of breath feature in Ulster Irish? I have heard it in the Munster area as an affirming adjunct. It also is a feature of speech in Sweden. PS. Very pleased to have found your videos.

Sun burn and sun tan are not really binary. You can get both at the same time but the fraction of each varies with the pigment behaviour which is obviously low among the Irish which is how I pick up people of Irish descent here in Canada. Blond hair, fair skin, generally slender, soft spoken give it away. I am not able to tell Irish from British accent though. Very similar at least to me. The fact of beauty of Irish girls being so attractive is among the 5 reasons to learn Irish.

Word HERB should be spoken like the French would because its origin is in Old French herb has always been spelled with an h, but the iniial letter is silent because the French simply cannot sound the that letter and is still standard in the US as "herbs" were brought to the US by the Cajun people who celebrate Mardi Gras in the coastal New England region.

Brilliant ,my Dear..so it's all about Proverbs?..and I agree, and there are Millions of them in Gaelige out there..but don't forget the Poetry.?..now at one time in Posterity,.There was a Lundub.?....nothing to do "Bitches Dubliners"..no insult intended..I mean "Lundub"at least I know one Bird, who sings like the Birdman of Alcatraz"..but what about the "Robin"?....I know the "Dreoilin"...Drooling Dreoilin Roi na N-aen La la Stiobhan Is Gabhaid ai a fein.. Is Mor is a Ceann Is Begodaid a Fein Nauisiant is Fiosioreach Is Beogach air Fein

Dear Molly would you please find time to make a list of loan words from English that are used as is or with slight adaptation in Irish. That is a very quick way to build Irish vocabulary. I think some 96% of people who learn Irish as a second language are anglophones. I have come across a few words from Irish that are adapted or adopted into English. That is also a handy and interesting to know list of words too. I hope when these links between English and Irish are presented to public they would be more inclined to learn Irish and hopefully save this language from going extinct. I speak the 20 most popular languages but I picked Irish for this extinction reason despite it being tricky to master fast. Kindly put this on your to do list for a future video Thanks in advance. I know you wont turn down this request. You are too sweet to do that. Here is a short list of English words of Irish origin en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Irish_origin few English loanwords in Irish are also listed on wiki but I am sure you can add a few dozen en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_loanwords_in_Irish

Answer: ever more, every day. I hope. Freagra: Tá níos mó agus níos mó daoine ag eirigh dátheangach, gach lá! Tá súil agam é. 🤞🏼 see Wiktionary/Wikipedia for the official stats for Gaeltacht areas, perhaps.
