While it's empty, you ought to spray it all down with vinegar, citric acid, or something. That should dissolve that algae. You could even fill the tank with water, and get the ph low enough, where it'll dissolve.
I’ve had to reseal almost every tank in the fish room . I’m gonna take a chance on this one . I do know it was holding water before I got it . I went an looked at it an made sure it was what I wanted . Fingers crossed on this one .

i get it with the scraping , my uncle gave me his 55 gal that he spray painted the back and side glass for some reason. it took hours and tons of blades to get all that off
@@mrfeedthefish Not gonna lie, the seal on that tank already looks sketchy. I got a dozen used tanks, I plan on resealing all of them. Just to be safe.
