I have tears in my eyes watching this, I honestly don't know WHO can dislike this video and give the thumbs down. The pain, the sorrow, the heartbreak so clear in this film everyone can relate. It's very touching piece of melody that communicates the grief that is so universal.......
You realise that the Greco-Persian wars continued for a few years after that? Towns were sacked, 1000s of people were killed and it eventually caused tension between Sparta and Athens which ultimately lead to the Peloponnesian Wars in which even more people were killed and the totalitarian rain of Sparta controlling the majority of Greece ended up leading to Sparta's downfall. The story behind it in which one could say is "beautiful" is that the Spartan's actions, along with the 1000s of Greeks who fought beside them, lead to our western world today. That battle didn't win the war, Thermopylae inspired every Greek city-state to fight back. The Persian Empire remained standing for nearly 500 years long after the Spartan society died out... It's tragic, but I can understand why you'd call it beautiful too.
The Persian empire at that time was more civilized than Greece. It was closer to our way of life than the barbaric Sparta. Leonidas actually pulled Europe in its development. Sparta - killing babies who don't match certain criteria avidly resembles of the Nazi ways.
This is the popular Bulgarian song called "Zaidi, Zaidi Iasno Slantze" insolently stolen by Tyler Bates the composer behind the "300" soundtrack Това е популярната българска песен, наречена "Зайди, Зайди Ясно Слънце", нагло открадната от Тайлър Бейтс, композитора зад саундтрака на "300"
And no one can ever change how society works. Men and women both play their parts. It is an honor to have women in this world alongside men. Don't ever let anyone else tell you different. Btw it’s Queen Gorga not Gorgo.
Men were created first then women, women were put on this earth to company men women play an important role in life we need them as much as they need men
But above all this is truly a beautiful song. I think we can all agree that it bears the very core of the complex and unique Balkan soul. We, Balkan nations, like to state how different we are from one another, but in the essential part, we all share the same thing - SOUL/DUŠA/ДУША. And this song depicts it perfectly and simply. That's why it's loved by so many. Greetings from Serbia.
Spartan Yes my lady Come back with your shield or on it Yes my lady Goodbye my love He doesn't say it Only the strong can call themselves spartans Only the strong
The saddest song ever sang. It's not about love, it's not about loosing someone or something. It's about loosing your youth, getting old, inevitably moving towards the end...
i love how this song captured the pain and hurt she felt to know that he wasn't coming back its one of those things were u can feel the emotion of the scene just by the music that plays in it.
The melody of the song originated probably in the 16th and 17th centuries. Before the Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule, on the basis of this melody are singing several town and pub songs with different texts, as well as the folk song "Bride goes, a bride walks through a green forest. As he walks, he walks screaming. " The text of the contemporary version of the song is found in the collection of folk (or authorship) songs and poems "New song", compiled by Lyuben Karavelov and published by the editorial office of Znanie in 1878 in Veliko Tarnovo. The first verse is taken from the poem "Collect, Girls, Bride (Vassil Levski)" and the second and third from the folk song "Bride Goes Through a Green Forest". In the Republic of Macedonia the modern version of the song is arranged by the composer and performer of folk songs Alexander Sarievsky, which often leads to controversy over the origin of the song. He says the following: "The song" Go, Go, Clear Sonnet "was created following the folk" Chernei Goro, Chernai Sister ". Listening to and singing this song sometimes, I have come up with the idea of doing something similar in content, but with a very different melody. So, I sang the song, which was very popular everywhere I sang it. This song means a lot to me, because many people who have been involved with folk music, but most of all with the greatest importance, have accepted it. Whenever I performed it somewhere, I think everyone present was expecting me to sing this song. Quote by Wikipedia. Stop saying that song Zajdi, zajdi, jasno sonce is Macedonian. This song is BULGARIAN
"Remember us, simple and order as a king can give, remember why we died, he did not wish tribute or song nor monuments no poems of war and valor, he's wish was simple, Remember us he said to me, that what he's hope that any free soul come across their place and all the countless centuries yet to be may all our voices whisper to you through the Ageless stones, go tell the spartans passer by, that hear by spartan law we lie"-Dilios/David Wenham
Mr Bates was fair by mentioning his source of inspiration. He shared: "As the composer of the music titled 'Message For The Queen', I would like to make it clear that while the introduction expresses the woodwind melody present in many recorded versions of the song "Zajdi, Zajdi Jasno Slance", this music is equally based on Bulgarian traditional folk music." I am proud that he used our Bulgarian song as an inspiration. Thank you, Mr. Bates! Great work, Sir! Kind regards, Ana

You are very funny, Bulgarians are slavic structured Turkish people, I want you to learn and speak history, but Macedonians were always Slavs, don't be nationalist here, learn your history first. I am both Macedonian and Turkish, I know both history, I recommend it to you 🇲🇰🇲🇰🇲🇰🇲🇰🇲🇰
@@eslemche4915You absolutely know nothing, there is no such thing as “Slavic”. Slavic was created in the 12th century to group all those who adapted to Old Bulgarian dialects. Bulgarians never had anything to do with Turkish people, archeological, scientifical, linguistical, and historical evidence shows Proto-Bulgarians were never Turkic.

when someone wants to have a deep impact on a viewer with a song that sounds ancient and can make your arm hair go up ... traditional Bulgarian music is one of the top choices
Just stop with the arguing fhs. Its like arguing that Macedonia is not actually Part and if not Bulgaria itself. Soo maybe for once try to be for real!
I cry every time I hear this. I’m 36 and have been through many wars. War is the saddest, ugliest, most evil thing we’ve created. But it is a necessary evil. Sometimes humans have to be EVil to LiVE

Original music by Tyler Bates? How shameless...How does it feel to make money out of someone else's creativity by calling it your own? Sweet, I would presume is the best answer. When this song existed, Tyler Bates wasn't even planned for yet. That is what the truth is! Plagiarism is the correct word. He would have never been able to graduate from college with that...

Whenever, I hear this piece it reminds me of my dearest dead friend, Ed and my recently dead brother, PJ. I will never see them again, smell their smell, hear their voices, laugh at their jokes. They died in the flowers of their youth, for reasons not their own.
"Original music by Tyler Bates" is a really interesting little caption there, considering this song has been part of Bulgarian folklore for several hundred years. I hope you paid royalties where royalties are due, Mr. Tyler Bates.
U guys are idiots the director changed the song this song just sounds the same but if u compare the songs are completely different listen to both of them the one in the movie and the original he changed the lyrics and and added in stuff
Trey Simpson THANK YOU! Jesus these people are ridiculous. And regardless of who or what song, just enjoy it. If its used and accredited wrong, let the artists deal with it themselves. The movie to me is second only to Gladiator. You folks have a right to disagree. ENJOY SHIT AND QUIT BITCHING!!!

Other lines are also comparable to those from Lyuben Karavelov's collection of folk songs and poems published in 1878.[9]
This Music is Ethno Macedonian Music and Author is Aleksandar Sarievski , the name of it is "Zajdi Zajdi" . This Author has stolen the Macedonian Song and should be filed as Criminal.
Legally It does not apply as plagiarism, there are similar bits but not the exact same composition not for note. So its not the same song, but it applies as direct inspiration, which I'm pretty sure it is given the matter.
