I’m at 150 on mine. Just went for 12 miles in the rain on rolling hills and the shoe didn’t miss a beat. Grip was phenomenal and the shoe can hit any pace I ask of it. Long live the King!
18:36 lol BITR these days *does a 6 mile easy run and drops a review saying the shoes are trash* Still love those guys. But they just have way too many shoes to review now.
Tons of Boston 12s at my Adidas outlet for 75 bucks! I already have a pair but picked another one up to keep on deck. It does take a few runs to break in but once you get the fit right, they feel great. Love your vids, man!
I just wanted to test it first and make sure I liked it since some people complained about the upper. But they feel soooo good! (6'2" 190lb for reference)
@@sambarker5294 Oddly enough I had a bit of rubbing on the tongue with my first pair in the first 50KM, but my second pair I had no issues with the tongue. The lacing with this shoe makes a big difference.
Went to 1000km in my first pair of Boston 12's, nearing 200km in my second pair and so tempted to buy another pair right now, currently switching between the Boston 12s and my second pair of Adizero SLs, but a concurrent second pair of Boston 12s would be nice especially as it's raining frequently where I live and the 12s are great for wet weather, but the SL's would soak up far too much water.
I didn’t agree with your saucony speed 3 vs Boston 12 video before, as I was on the speed 3 camp. But recently got a Boston 12, and I can’t stop running in the Boston 12s - now I get it, have only done around 35 kms - but love it
The biggest upgrade I did with my Boston 12s was to swap out the horrible laces with a pair from my Asics gel Nimbus 25. Much better upper comfort and no more issues with lockdown. Once fully broken in around 50 Miles for me as I am a light runner they mold to my feet. I run some steep hills and no other shoes gives me the control and speed when going down hills. Just ordered the Takumi Sen 10 finally available in the USA!
Me too! And I see other runners with different laces as well. The original laces keep getting untied AND they are not stretchy at all. A bit of stretch is the best. I used my old nike infinity run laces.
I’m an experienced runner and 3 runs and 15km into my Boston 12s. They really start to hurt the side of my right foot after about 3km - I think it’s pressure from the upper. I’ve heard people say they require breaking in but never had pain from a shoe like this before!
Betcha those fumes coming of the Ons are fairly harmful. Is that what we should expect from $220 shoes? Did they come with a warning? Maybe another lawsuit to add to your list.
Also, if you ban me from using the word "embargo" in your comments section because you want treat them as if they are absolutely non-existent, I will comply.
I have both. B12 feels a bit faster but DN2 is much more comfortable and better for slower paces wich feel awkward in B12. Prefer DN2 for long runs as well. That B12 upper is just too stiff.
I would recommend going to an adidas outlet store if you want to get this shoe and you live close to an outlet store as I picked one up for half off so 80 dollars plus tax. Have not put many miles on this one though as my goat is the vomero 17.
Same here. Found a pair of Boston 11s at Ross or TJ Max for like 45USD! Never on my radar, so I didn’t know anything about them. Found out about to 12s and checked the Adidas outlet here. Got the last pair of 12s in my size for 50% pff! BTW - only shoes i have had to use the runner’s knot to fix the heel slippage.
Yes, you should believe everything, after a few years of running on rods your legs will be so weak, you'll be Stephen Hawkings. Better not buy this Boston 12, leg weakeners
Love the vid, Yowana! Just snagged a pair of B12’s for $86 after tax in Sep 2024 on the adidas app (late to the party). Worth test running in for that price
I loved the Boston 12 up until 250 miles when they lost their responsiveness. The shoes look good and rubber looks untouched but I don’t enjoy running in them anymore and they don’t seem to work as a daily trainer. They feel like bricks. Maybe I’m too fussy but I felt a bit disappointed and sort of expect shoes to last longer.
Hey I’m looking to replace my Boston 12s with a similar shoe I was thinking about getting another pair of them but I think I’d like to try another shoe, I’m new to running and the bostons were my second running shoe ever so I haven’t tried anything else really, what would you recommend?
Fix the heel lockdown on the Boston 12 (and the upper in general), and the shoe becomes amazing. I've tried KT tape, Compressport trail socks, even tried gel bandaids, lace lockdowns to the point I have nasty lace bite on the top of the foot. Interestingly, the Takumi Sen8 I don't find that bad, and I think it's due to the lack of the excessively hard inner heel cup. I have 1065km (660miles) in my first pair of Tempo Next%, which I had previously retired. But found I could still trust them on treadmill so I'm cautiously still using them on treadmill only to see how far I can take them before I feel it's no longer worth the risk. I have 500km in my 2nd pair and they feel exactly the same as the 3rd pair I have with only 32.5km long run in them so far. If I don't hear anything soon about the Tempo Next% replacement from Nike, I might try and find a 4th pair...they work that well for me and I find they really pair well with the AF V3, where they did not on the V2 and especially the V1.
I had Boston 11 sitting in the box after 30 trial miles. I was going to purchase the 12 but decided to revisit the 11s giving another chance. Literally took 80 plus miles to break in 😅😅😅 I now have 170miles and I love the 11’s. “Harder” midsole actually helps me building calve muscles. Durability is insane. Thank you for the review as always!! I’d definitely get my hands on Boston 12!!!
I went with the Superblast because I wanted something really protective but not sluggish as I tried to increase my mileage. It's been great for that purpose and I don't really do speed work. I tried the B12 at the store and I was a little concerned about the heel slip.
Open question - many miles did it take to soften them? Because mine have almost 200k (120/130 miles) and I still find them really hard on the forefoot..
If Adidas Boston 13 can fix the lacing system, make the heel lockdown slightly better ( I don't really have an issue with it) and put a LSpro insole in or just something slightly thicker. The shoe would be PERFECT.
I have both the B12 and Superblast and I've been running mainly with these 2 for the past few months and I agree with your comments .. I like the superblast as well but not that impressed either. I liked your "boat analogy" .. i like max cushion shoes but I don't need extra wide, the foam is protective but not that bouncy .. also I'm not a huge fan of the upper, fits a bit too sloppy. I would say, it's main pro is also its main con : I easily forget that I'm wearing it.
The novablast 4 so much better than superblast,nova4 and B12 my shoes to grind miles. I done 350 miles in superblast and the shoe is my least favorite out of the three.
My problem is with the heal counter. I do have some achilles sensitivity and it begin to hurt as I was testing them in the store. Any solutions for that? Thanks
Hey just wondering, how do you size your shoes? Do you do a thumb's width in front, or do you have a snug fit? My brother lost his toenail after running a half-marathon and I've been thinking, considering going up a half-size for my next shoe purchase.
I usually go 10.5 US and rock with it unless something is horribly wrong 😂 but I like to have a little room up front - so that's when I'll bump to an 11
I used a chest strap a while back - its a good option if you want to train by heart rate. I go by feel now instead of heart rate so I don't mind the watch inaccuracies too much - it's just a little annoying lol
hi Yowana, great content as always, what do you think about this shoes for tempo and speed workout? i already had boston 12 that reach 500Miles (almost used for everything befor). Right now had triumph 21 for easy-recovery runs, superblast for long run & race day, and want to pick another boston 12 for tempo and speed workout.
Off subject, but would be nice to see you try out the Invincible 3 which has been on sale for a while now. I waited for a sale because people gave it a bad rap, but I actually enjoy it (runners knot is mandatory) and it’s super grippy. I also can agree with your love for the Boston 12, was my first plated/rodded shoe and it was amazing to feel how much more snappy it is compared to my other daily trainers.
@@supwell Cool, looking forward to it. Like the Vomero 17 as well, it's one of those shoes that does a good job using the two foam setup and just gets the job done.
i have the boston 12 and it has been great, looking for a race shoe to complement it. What do you recommend? at least it should has the same forefoot width
Would the Boston 12 be a good shoe to run your first Half Marathon in? Currently using the Axon 3’s for most of my training plan but the long run miles are getting longer and not sure how they will hold up for the longer runs
Yes definitely - great choice if you want something to both train and race in. I've done some hard half marathons during training and this felt awesome for it
Love that blue on the 12s,great vid again boss. Quick question here,i had to downsize a half with the Superblast, thinking hows the fit on the Sky Paris please? Stick with my Superblast size down a half or just go with my normal size. My Superblast size is 11 My Pro 3s are 11.5 My Speed 3s are also 11.5 🤷 Keep these coming, thx for the input in advance
I didn’t size up, works fine for me. For reference, I’m one those who size up for Kinvaras and EP3. I tried size up in Boston 11, the heal slipping is insane, lmao
Personally I retire every shoe at 350 miles max. This is following tibialis issues taking shoes to 400 miles before. I no longer risk it, 350 and out 🤟
@@youthought1343 They have gotten a bit softer, I've also been walking in the which I normally don't do with running shoes. They are still firm to me. Lol. I'm gonna keep at it though. On my runs about 3 miles or so in they do feel softer. It's a very finicky shoe.
Had a Boston 11. Didnt like it much. After Yowana's rave review, I picked up Boston 12 for a steal price. Looking forward to putting tonnes of mileage in it!
There's much better shoes out there for my mechanics..pretty given up on Adidas, Brooks, Acics, Nike,Saucony..either the shoes don't work for me or their marketing scams are atrocious..fortunately there are other companies that make great shoes without gimmicky trash in/on them..a thing I discovered for running in the rain is compression shirts and shorts instead of any kind of rain gear..the compression stuff sheds water..I'm gonna get wet from rain or from sweat either way but at least the compression stuff is cooler and not heavy..😊
