No it wouldn't cats would scratch and ruin all the hard work. Try making one yourself and after putting in all the hours and work then tell us it would make a good cat tree. A cat on a hot tin roof would make a good movie😂
Wish you could provide or sell plans. Videos are misleading in that things dont look their real size i.e. it pieces look much bigger than they are I think.

What a great idea for a tree! Would be awesome if you could give your initial cut lengths but I understand that you might want to corner the market. One or two suggestions, stain the wood green or do a light Sho Shugi then stain it green. Just a thought. Again, great idea!

😮 extrem viele viele Arbeitsschritte und danach klappt man es wieder ein und gut zu lagern, respekt aber ich werde es nicht machen, zu viel Arbeit und wiegt am Ende zu viel um vom Keller nach oben für Weihnachten und wieder danach runtertragen 🤪 Aber super Idee 👍 Ich werde meine Palme als Weihnachtsbaum weiter nutzen 😂

If these are 1" thick boards then wouldn't 300 pieces make a 25' tall tree? Even if they are ½ in pieces that would make it a 12.5' tall tree. The tree is more like 150 pieces in my estimation.
If you look closely the boards layed out on the floor are around an inch but the ones on the drill press are less than or at most a half inch as are the ones he makes into the tree. So it's deceptive the way this is edited together. It's really two separate projects. If the slats are 3/8 of an inch then 300 would make a tree(w/o base or star) around 9.4 feet high. That's what the finished project looks like to me.
