St. Valentine’s character here has to be one of my favorites from any civilization video. The unique stories to be told with the inclusion of an economy were really something special.
The fact he was listening at the end, and most likely no one knew (before this video) how much of a difference he made in the final fight, everyone that knew his identity died during the war im pretty sure
This man played with the world where every team was a chess piece. He moved and they clashed without knowing who is behind. Such a complexity like the real world.
It’s crazy how in the end, whoever had the money was the deciding factor of world. He took no part in any politics, held no social status, and lived as a hermit. Yet, because of his money and the greed of other players (drippy), Valentine was able to influence the outcome of the event however he saw fit.
St. Valentine was the best character out of this. Basically having a web of secrets and money without ever having to lift his own sword. Information is power
I will not be silenced. I will not be abandoned. The next time, you all will not be so lucky. Our great EmperorZarikar will be redeemed in blood and ash.
I can't believe nobody is talking about st valentin. He manipulated everyone and everything while keeping a hidden identity. He was the goat of this simulation in my opinion. Btw really cool video! You earned a subscriber.
Hear me out: Add a childbirth mechanic where two players can spawn in another player from a waiting list, but will need to meet certain requirements first.
Yes! But newly spawned 'babies' are utterly weak and completely dependent upon their parents and communities for the first 2 days. A good way to nerf them is to make them incapable of breaking blocks.
St Valentine proved how work smart and not hard means, and with all tht worth he continued to be humble and didnt take any credit for world peace... thts some under ground stuff right there "literally"
@@Einsteinium. but he was smart enough to stay in the north where he was the only one to figure out that the shop there was broken. which gave him advantage over southerners. he probably thought that the north was devoid of any resources but might have a hidden advantage which he discovered.
@@serva7977 community was harassing them and Targon was fed misinformation that led them to think community wanted to attack them. And that misinformation came from Crivvy’s co-conspirator
Also community was violating Targons sovereignty by striking their town and harassing them during a trial not to mention Jevil did rob and kill while the Tagonians only took hostages and held a trial
I don't know how i got here but I remember clicking on this video cause it looked intetesting thinking it was like a high million view video that got recommend from like a 300k sub channel or close and realizing after the whole video that it was such high quality made me be in awe still. You earned a fan.
St.Valentine's the Palpatine here. Just except he was a businessman and not a wannabe tyrant The guy turned innocent Targon members into savages through fake mails, and then turned traitors like Crivvy into rulers, then his puppet, and then overthrew the largest empire to secure a monopoly. Love how no one in this video was fully right or wrong, just like the real world. Two sides fighting over a false flag that a third guy engineered for money.
I appreciate it! this was really a passion project because I love these kinds of events and wanted to make one that was as organic and real as possible
Holy shit. I must agree with the comments. Upon seeing the thumbnail and title, I did not have many expectations and expected myself to click off after the 5 first minutes. BUT. This video is so well made that I stayed until the end, and the ending legitimately gave me goosebumps. You guys REALLY WROTE A SONG FOR THIS? Bravo. Hands down, one of the best civilization videos out there, This WILL blow up.
As others have already expressed, this one of the best civilization videos in this platform. Super high quality production, story and characters. My favorite is stvalentine, his character of being a mysterious but powerful mastermind hidden in the shadows whilst manipulating the world was surprising because we never see this trope in Minecraft civilization videos. Makes me think to make like a civilization simulation but a few selected players are given a god-like status where they can interact to others as if they were chess pieces giving power, influence, money and they gain strength when worshipped. Anyways this was an extremely well done video and I hope see more from this channel
being targeted for something 2 of my peoples (Jevilist, ChungusI and Avaryyyy) did, even though the others didn't do anything besides building, was a bit unfair in my opinion, but then again, peoples probably didn't know who it was that killed them, they probably just heard it was one of us. (I loved this Experiment tho, would try it again :) ) also for info for peoples, Jevil isn't the character from Deltarune or a made up deity, they are a Moderator in Skipolo's server, TheLovingJevil (yes, that is their name) is a pretty nice person, they even visited us when we were in prison :)
glad you liked it! I was trying to go for an high-paced, adrenaline type of feel rather than something slow and dramatic. Im glad its being received well that way
If you do another civilization, an idea you could do is allow people to select their stats, Fallout style. Players with high INT are the craftsmen of their teams and get access to advanced technology. High Strength can wear heavier armor, wield bigger weapons, and hit so much harder. Lucky People have a chance of succeeding at things they don’t have the ability to do normally, gain more from ores, always crit. It could be amazing.
St. Valentine was arguably on a different level than all other players. It requires observation skills to spot different details like items to sell, players to manipulate (Crivvy for ex due to greed). Also the amount of patience required to scale his "business" and wait for world events must've been insane. Cherry on top: He didn't even take an ounce of credit, even his closest "partners" didn't know his username. *Now he'll live richest anywhere on the server.*
Feels like most civilization videos all miss the "simulating" part now a days. Most of the time it just feels like a giant team deathmatch, even though this video had a cliche final battle it was more enjoyable to watch (custom music was sick). See all types of variables on how a economy would work seeing the bone block meta, strategic trading locations, st valentins funding was cool. A really change of most "simulating" civilization videos. it would be cool if people were rewarded for exploring like perhaps an island with lots of resources that is not seen across the map to really simulate more things.
im glad you liked it! just to reiterate, everything - including the final battle, occurred naturally from the players. I had no influence on how the event panned out and actually did not encourage either of the wars, so I think people just genuinely got fed up with Targon after they killed a ton of community players. Glad you liked the economy, my interest in that idea was honestly the reason I did this experiment at all and the video was supposed to just be an afterthought.
I like how there's no good or evil between Targon and Retribution, its just two sides fighting for their beliefs. Targon for Order and Retribution for Freedom. Just two sides of the same coin of peace.
Kinda disappointed that targon loses but this is one of the best Minecraft civilization since ish13c. there's so much more to improve, can't wait for the next one!!! You earned another subscriber 👍
@@Skipolo yours and ish's videos only worked because they kept the base minecraft game relatively intact. i read a comment about stat buffs and the problem with that is it defects too far from the original minecraft formula. KEEP IT SIMPLE. great video
That was insane, 10/10 video. The backstabbing, the politics, the bribery, it all came together so well. I even got goosebumps during the final battle. That was so cool!
Very cool video. The economy aspect was definitely an interesting twist, and seeing how it got exploited was interesting. Too bad for Crivyy, his treachery and betrayal was met with its own treachery and betrayal. This is why you don't just betray your team members and lie about it. Too bad the UJO had to turn evil, though the Community should've known better than to harass their neighbors while not having a major fighting force.
We Yondered East! I'm so glad my playermodel even made it into the video. I came up with a lot of minor ideas (naming yeast/giving the western theme), but I'm so glad that you showed off the more important players in our humble society. Thanks for the video!
yeah, it definitely wasn't black and white imo. Targon was about law & order, but they turned most of the players in the experiment against them when they killed all of the community players
I disagree honestly due to the fact targon was too willing to slaughter indiscriminately when they were dealing with the community nation for the only crime known explicitly by them were being kinda annoying and disagreeing on certain actions they killed them without mercy and hunted them down and because of that my heart goes to the retribution army
@@demonicdimentio2533 Not sure I agree. From Targon's position, it could be any one of the Community members, a group, or all of them. The best course of action would be to strike without warning to not allow them to prepare.
@@randomizedperson1414 if your talking about the message sent by Mister_F I personally think it wasn't sent by community due to several factors First: community has spent the entire game to that point being friendly trying to avoid a huge conflict from starting and trying to defend perceived innocent players from targon so from all political angles it makes no sense to start a huge war between all major nations from their POV Second: community was a nation of about 30 ish people versus the nearly 60 total targon alliance and even if L.S.D did join them they would have to deal with an alliance between targon and her allies and the squid people numbering nearly 100 total people if not more against their 45 ish people not to mention that the majority of communities members were not confident in their pvp skill so from a military prospective it would be nearly impossible to win Third: they would gain nothing from this whole war even if they did have the deal go through So to put it simply community would have been a fool to even consider this option and I don't see them as the people who sent this message i personally have my suspicion of it being a false flag operation by the Targon alliance though
Targon, Yeast, and LSD deserved to win!!!! They were the true protectors of peace and if it wasn’t for st valentine and his meddling they would’ve been victorious 🙏
Ngl between the editing, the storytelling, the connections to all of the characters, this may be the best Minecraft video I’ve ever seen in the decade or so of watching craft videos
I gotta say, i absolutely LOVE the format you used, constantly showing players and settlements on the map, down to the most minuscule of groups, also the golden age break where you described every major community in text with their leaders was incredible, really helps keep up with all the info My only "complain" is that in the map when colouring the map for the territorry of each community, the borders and colors could be more vibrant to distinguish them better Either way this was awesome and i love how you made sure to present every last bit of info in the event, u earned yourself a subscriber man
This is easily the best civilization event I have ever watched! I would love to see more videos like this! The economy was a great idea, I also liked how you didn't force the end to be violent and force the players to be part of four groups based in four islands. This video was unique and amazing!!
First off, who ever cooked that song up is the goat. Second, Its crazy how St Valentine created peace by framing German Words Nation and making Targon seem rvil, and he was right, but for the wrong reasons. Amazing story. And German word will never know
That final battle song was straight fire. Its like Sabaton wrote lyrics for the battle. I rewatched the entire video just to build up to that song lol So this was one of the best experment videos for a viewer in my perspective. The hard work and dedication to it is appriciated. Subscribed and looking forward to the next!
St. Valentine was basically the Sauron, the Palpatine, the David Xanatos, playing everyone with vast resources and secrecy and benefitting from any response that came.
Neat video, but this was not an economy. It was just w minecraft world with tradeables goods. An economy is based in more than the simple existance of tradesble goods. It is based in those goods, the manufacturers of those goods, the people willing to buy them, and the networking and infrastructure that facilitates the trades. This was an entertaining society simulator, but not at all a real economy-sim in anything but name. I wouldn't harp on this so much if both the title and thumbnail weren't such clear lies. There was no difference between rich and poor here or even a rudimentary trading scheme. Again, good content, but make sure next time to have your title/thumbnail reflect the content of the video
That was so good the song during the final battle went crazy and when the evil Jevilist came back as soon as they heard about money made me laugh. You definitely just got a new fan
This video proved how a king can act like a pawn in the hands of a player. St Valentine controlling everything without swinging his sword a single time. What a beautiful show.
Idk man I was actually on Targon's side Crivy was a villain The Jevilists (although not all guilty) WERE robbing and killing merchants.. Cant let that stand.. And seeing as how they were sentenced to imprisonment instead of death, it's possible they may have gotten a softer punishment had community not interfered Community had no right to interfere, and crossing a closed border IS a decent enough reason for war And in case I didnt mention it... *Crivy was a power-hungry villain*.. The PR rebrand to have him lead a group claiming to fight for freedom is INSANE. Targon did nothing wrong!
WE'RE RICH 🗣🔥💰🌟 Edit: This video was unbelievably cool, I'm really surprised at how well you managed to string such a compelling story together. Props to you man! Well done! The song at the end during the war was such a dope addition, this video has GOT to blow up now.
St Valentin is so underrated in this event manipulating everything In the shadows as well as he was the one to fing the glitch in the matrix😅. I loved him
What a video, really brings me back to the og experimental civ videos and i love this style! U Gotta keep it up ill defo be signing up for the next one!
For real, ig the victors write the history books. The winners were the dictator Crivvy, the terrorists in community and Jevil, and the evil billionaire st. Valentine.
Childhood is knowing Crizzy was a dictator Adulthood is realizing that despite that Targon deserved to be destroyed the moment they separated towns with walls and held mock trials.
I remember learning about you back when we were gonna be in the same ish event, and wow, you've replicated the same charm of those events, seemingly without the corruption of the ish application process. Congrats on the success!
