In my teens back in the 70's, road trips were planned around whose vehicle was most likely to complete the trip. Was it my '68 Jeepster with the bus heater in the back? We lost the whole ski rack over a snowbank once, skis and all. Was it Ed's '65 Valiant with the missing fender? We threw the back seat out on the way to Jones Beach. Went back and got it. On the way to Lime Rock with four guys in Ed's VW Bug, Ed Pulls over using the hand brake, opens the front hood, and refills the master cylinder from a gallon jug. He never mentioned the leak before the trip. Mike and I took his '70 VW camper van skiing, and hung a carpet behind the front seats to keep whatever heat we had up front. We kept an ice scraper handy for the inside of the windshield. Lotsa good memories. Bob

I love that none of it is DOT rated or inspected, and that wrongful death lawsuit will break them for life. My friend is a personal injury lawyer, he would have a field day with these morons. One of his biggest settlements to date was a loose trailer decapitating a woman. Hell this would probably be a manslaughter charge. This whole thing is a who's stupider contest.

Dude I bet! That's a awesome whip you got and it was perfect for that kinda trip. Well so far haven't seen part 2 yet. But so far it looks like a great time reminds me of buying my $300 truck then having to daily it. My 302 had all the same issues I drove it home with one bolt holding the trans to the motor only 12 miles. But definitely the journey is what matters. Im glad ya had an awesome time dude!

I did one a few years ago on 31.5 stock fram and body. body life and motor lift the 99 ford had bumper cover so that help stock 16 in rims hard to trun but it look good .

I've got a 1962 Ford Fairlane that I've put on a 95 f-superduty frame that I shortened, powered by a 7.3 psd. Also have a 1996 f350 quad cab that I added to to make a 6 door, it sits on a shortened international 3800 schoolbus frame ,also powered by a 7.3, with eten 5 speed.Shes a real big girl since it's on the full schoolbus frame/driveline with 11r22.5s.

Me and my buddy took it 1870 Skylark GS big block on its grand maiden voyage for a 200 mile trip. We had very similar issues; however, instead of quietly sitting down every time he quit he would match the gas pedal several times thinking it could be a fuel issue. Then once the exhaust system was full of unpaired fuel and air mix it would finally ignite it caused a massive explosion big enough to scare me into flinch mode as well as a rolling the seams of two large mufflers… It turned out that it was a wire coming from the alternator touching a distributor wire and it would get hot and burned together even closer then after stopping eventually the insulation would melt into separate them again therefore allowing us to drive a little bit further. Thinking this could be the problem with y’all, melted wires bad connection ET see? Thanks for the videos, cheers!

12:50 I've actually had my alternator bolts vibrate out like this on several different occasions mainly on my accord but also once on my Montero ... If you think your shocked from seeing it once wait til it happens a couple times within a few months haha and it was not from a lack of tightening .... Still have no idea why it happens unless its from vibrations from the road ...

Wouldn’t the different size tires break the transfer case? That’s what causes problems with a lot of four wheel drives unless it’s geared to run the different size tires
