After thinking about it, Spongebob’s kind of similar to Sans. - Both are popular in their respective communities. - Both tell jokes/try to get others to laugh. - Both have a more serious interior that they hide behind a cheery disposition. The best example of this is when Spongebob snaps and yells at Squidward for being a deadbeat roommate. - Both are weak, yet incredibly hard to actually hurt. Ex. All the instances of slapstick humor where Spongebob loses limbs, is sliced into cubes, or even chunks torn off; however, these things don’t phase him in the slightest.
Another similarity is that they both live in environments where they can't get out off unless something happens. Like how Sans and the underground get out from the barrior breaking, and how Spongebob and his world get out of the ocean from the smell of a Krabby Patty.

After watching spongebob as sans undertale I was honestly shocked and blown away. Okay so let me begin by saying the creator of this deserves all the recoginition and credit they get. The pure power of epicness is shown in this masterpiece, I want everyone to take a moment to recognise the intellectual greatness. I mean it, from the bottom of my heart. I also want to take a moment to give the creator my deepest gratitude. This video honestly made my day. When I woke up I never thought I would witness something so immensely powerful and heartwarming. I will spend my life for the near future enlightening people on this masterpiece, and I hope you do to. The creator deserves a chance to rise up and and show the world their talents, I’m certain they will go a lot further with their career. I think it honestly all fits together. Spongebob being sans. Patrick being papyrus. Squidward being undyne. Sandy being alphys. Mr krabs being asgore. Flowey being plankton.
That guitar solo at the end inspires more feelings of hope and absolute glory that I can't even imagine who wouldn't get hyped up when it starts playing
Imagine if this came out before the actual show came out, and they did the Jellyfish Jam episode... The lore would be epic. I also find it hilariously fitting how he uses jellyfish as gaster blasters xDxD
