This video shows how to replace the spark plugs on a non turbo GTO. The job is being done for Lee in Cheshire who won the competition to have the job done for free. Another video will show the job being done on a turbo 3000gt.
Great video! These cars are a true classic-car in my opinion. They are also getting in a short supply. It's worth the effort of going in and keeping them well maintained just like you would any other classic vehicle.
another top video nice one joe, as a helpfull hint i have always used a length of rubber tube to get the spark plugs in & out ,just loosen them ,pop the tube over & pull them out ,reverse for putting in ,hope this may be of use to you,all the best , .
Slick this is a very good tip. Especially with plugs being installed deep into the cylinder head or hard starting. Using this technique you have a much better feel when the plug is being threaded properly. After the plug is screwed down as far has the hose allows, just finish with your ratchet and socket. An old school mechanic taught me this years ago. Good Luck Everyone. Chicago USA
Hello! Thank you for your brilliant work and videos on these cars. its helped me a lot. I wanted to ask if you still sell snake eyes for 1Gs? I messaged you about it on ebay when you had them up.
Performance wise yeah they still go fairly quick but dont have as much top end power and as strong launch , but from experience I would say there easier to work on as theres a bit more room in the engine bay .

Sir Pigeon The 3rd Of Dunecaster I was thinking of if there was much difference in changing the plugs 😁.. I have a VR4 myself that need changing of plugs and etc.
@ oh no pretty much the same thing shouldn't be any difference in the process you will probably have to move your y pipe upwards I'm guessing to get to the air filter not 100% sure though jim will now .
Great video!!! This is a job I’d be horrified to attempt. As with other of your videos I’ve finished several jobs. Thanks Joe for sharing your time and skills.
You can also use masking tape inside the sockets to hold nuts and bolts. Just peel off some tape and push it into the socket and shove the bolt or nut on it and it will stay with the socket same for when removing them too.
Do you have a video on the turboed version of the car?? Gonna be doing this job plus coil packs and wires this weekend anything would help and save me 1300 dollars
@@3000GTGTORestoration because I'm not sure which one is faulty so I ordered all 3, I'm not concerned with a few extra bucks this thing has been sitting for like 7 years so i figured screw it getting all of them
@@3000GTGTORestoration I know, but its 30 years old so I'm replacing everything wouldn't be the first time doing everything like this first time on a stealth/gt, just preventive maintenance at this point
Great video I just bought a 1993 Mitsubishi GT 3000 SL yesterday and , I want to make it great again 😂 you're you're lessons are spot on I see you have many videos I'll be busy watching them over the next couple weeks you offer hands down the most knowledge on these cars so we can keep them going and not be totally broke lol I still have tens of dollars in my savings account 😂 thank you I will be giving you a thumbs up as I'm watching them I'm sure more comments.
I bought a 1995 3000GT for my wife because it was the car she had before me meet and she longed for another one. I’m a Nissan guy and this is my first Mitsubishi. Every video has been the most helpful to expand my knowledge. Keep it up!! -Elijah in Las Vegas
