Last leg from Wellington back to Auckland. Ride was dominated by high winds in the morning. and lots of rain and downpours in the afternoon. Still, loved every minute of it.
On the last short leg home, I was reflecting on the trip. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Looking back over all the little things that happened each day, it all adds up to quite a lot. I can’t explain why riding for hundreds of kilometers every day, day after day, is so enjoyable.
But it is. And so much more when sharing it with friends, so thanks to Darryl for coming down on Day 1, and Rush for accompanying me into the South. The last day alone was a bit weird after all that, but with all the weather felt quite intrepid too.
This is definitely one for the memory books, and I’m definitely going to do this again, and try do it every year! Until then, so long.
