Really wish they would buff the shotgun slugs. Slugs are pretty devastating and often used for Grizzly/Kodiak defense due to their penetration. It would be way more compelling to me to use shotguns if they penetrated well in game. Even 2 3/4 inch Brenneke style slugs punch big deep holes.
The 10 gauge auto looks like it shoots 3 1/2 inch magnum shells my mag-10 10 gauge mag in real life is only chamber for magnums I've hunted every with it and hopefully one day they can add chokes to make the auto 10 gauge pattern to be nice and tight like a classic goose and turkey gun should be

In my opinion, even though the 470 lacks the effective range of the other heavy rifles, making it relatively less practical, it's fun to get super close to such large and dangerous game, only to drop them like flies. Getting a 100% quick kill bonus on a diamond cape buffalo can easily be accomplished with the 470 (if you want that sweet 1000 score record kill), and it's a good self-defense weapon against buffalos. I also enjoy inviting my beginner friends to my sessions and flexing its power on them LOL Nonetheless, I understand what you mean, both in your original message and view of the 470.
I have always loved the caliber (300M). And now we have a weapon with 5 rounds and much less recoil - very good. But that we seem to have a significant better penetration from a semi auto is - to me - somewhat urealistic. As much more that the new gun seems to have a shorter barrel? But OK - I will go for the new one.
As an actual hunter IRL, they should have done the AR .300 Blackout instead of the .300 Win Mag /.300 WSM). .300 Blackout is used far more in an AR platform than .300 Win Mag or WSM. It's like a 99:1 ratio. .300 Blackout coupled with a suppressor and a night-vision/thermal optic is one of the most common platforms in America for hunting hogs (among other things). That's what they should have went with. Geez.
The Carbon Metal looks like the blue "paint" finish coming on a lot of competition focused shotguns. The Easter pack has 3 real life metal finishes that looks great with the Carbon. The speedloaders are called Moon clips. As a "gun nut" I love the attention to detail the devs put into the game. Now if they would make floaters float back to where they entered the water and create some recolors of the Remi William's snow camo outfit (like some form of Realtree/Mossy Oak/Woodland/Multicam) I'd be a happy camper lol
That bolt action .300 Win Mag Weatherby imitation in the game is pretty awesome! I've used the .300 AR and it is a great add. I look forward to more comparisons. So far, so good.

I never thought anything would knock the 300 off its pedestal as my favourite big gun but the new 300 with its faster firing and low recoil has just obliterated it
I finally spawned my great one white tail on Layton Lakes. Two weeks of 8+ hours a day. Seem a bit easier than I remember. He's still on my map, I'm going to try and spawn another one. After I get that 300AR I'm headed to Te Awaroa to grind for my red deer great one.
Armalite Rifles are not chambered in .300 Win Mag. The cartridge is too long for the much shorter action. This rifle should have been released in .300 WSM or another similar caliber that actually exists in the shorter standard length actions. This is unicorn. It does not exist. I hope EW fixes this obvious realism issue.
Lady, I need some help really bad, I’ve been trying to do a grind recently to get a whitetail great one and there are no males spawning anymore, I have all the drinking zones and stuff and only females are spawning in the herd, could you help me?
I totally love it when they release extremly op guns in the game. I'm not ruining my experience and sticking with the 300 magmum. better penetration and much less recoil? GREAT JOB DEVS!!!!
I’m gonna hate retiring the ole 300 but it’s way to easy to get this great gun just from a few bucks. I wish they would’ve left it for a map to come with it but what can you do🤷 I do want the new 300 for sure though
My fav weapon is the 308, but I love the sound of the Virant 22! The hardly any recoil on the new 300 is gonna be a game changer for me. I like the 300 magnum, but that recoil is too much, even with all points in recoil management. Might also be a bit different since I'm on console, but most definitely gonna give that new 300 a go✌🏾🦖

Great video! Love the AR in .300. I still like the bolt action. Just a matter of what you want to do. I wish the .30-30 would get some love. I am disappointed that is in the same class as the .243 but seems a bit weak. The 10 gauge slugs (as well as the 12 gauge slugs) appear week as well. Probably need to have them for up close shots for greater penetration. Hope the Devs are listening. Good to see the .45-70 getting some love. The .44 magnum got a lot of love in the lever action rifle. Another cartridge in need of love is the .22 LR. I know that the in real life the .22 is used on animals that would be considered class 2 in this game. Just saying.
To be honest like I said in my honest opinion the automatic 10 gauge looks like a 10-gauge Magnum itself and them shells look a little bit longer than the 12 and 20 and gauge everything else that's on that game it looks like 3 inch shells but the mag 10 looks more like a 3 1/2 inch number 3 shot really which is more than enough to take a 2 ricky(raccoon) out
8:11 Have you really “proven” anything? Your test shot with the AR was on a level 3. The shot with the old .300 was on a 4… The ammo is the same and the rifle shouldn’t change the stats of the ammo (e.g. penetration), only those of the rifle itself (recoil, reload time, etc.). But that’s just my opinion 😉 Love your vids!
I'm loving the .300 AR. I was saving money to buy the magnums but I don't think it will be necessary anymore. I personally think it is a bit unfortunate it is only one variation but I'm definitely buying it.
Effective range for the slugs is 50m and you shot that lion at 155 meters, so it's no wonder there was no penetration. Use the weapon incorrectly and then complain about it...
I've said it before and I'll say it again that 300AR makes me feel really bad for the animals given it's not remotely fair compared to the magnum. Just saying. Still and all I'm of course going to use it but damn, where's the challenge?
