It's 300kV, not 30kV. He built those HV transforms himself out of 4 x-ray transformers. I know he's sold one along with a 3ph variac. But I can't remember how much he said now 🤔 I definitely I know for a fact that it wouldn't be cheap.
@@TheManLab7 definitely not 300kV. Those XRTs are rated 150kVp. The gap between the bushings will limit the voltage to around that regardless. Still, over 100kV RMS is nothing to scoff at (especially with 20cm of jump hehe)
I got the joke, because the arc is plasma, but CRT and "plasma" TV sets both use plasma to generate their images, like a plasma globe, but more organized. Even street lamps and fluorescent bulbs use plasma to make light. The back of CRTs and probably plasma sets are coated in lead to shield against X-Rays, but I am not sure how the front is shielded. In a color set, the metal shield might help to keep the radiation down.
"Now if there's a fire it's only a phone call away." Hello, What is your emergency? > I started a house fire. Don't worry, we will get the Fire Department right away. What is your address? > [CENSORED] Thank you. How did you start the fire? > By putting 300Kv onto a CRT Television. > Just stuff. 0_0 Sir, .... .... **beeeeeeep** > Shit.
So has the police ever raided you in hopes of finding a cannabis farm? :D I bet they are thinking "Ok, 300amps from a flat is not normal we got a grower"
Why didn't he try to run the TV again, to see if the image quality was improved after the electric procedure? I bet that TV turned into a fullHD, and we will never know.
Vαlεεղ P. atleast that isnt more cancerous than having a retarded face picture with a name people cant even read, also jesus chirst you act like a 9 years old kid except if you are 9 years old, if so get off the internet, i keep cutting myself because of this edge while im reading your shit
MorksMate its ironic since the first reply you made you said to me that i was cancer You are talking shit at this point trying to defend yourself with straws
you are crazy in an awesome way when your growing up your parents always told you "don't play with electricity cause it bites" and you grew up and you make SWEET videos of electricity keep them coming
Widescreen tube TV sets, neat. That's something that never caught on here in the States. I've only ever seen them in shows or videos from the UK. I don't think I ever saw a single one in an electronics store here, back when CRTs were still in wide usage, but yet widescreen laserdiscs and DVDs were already caught on.
I've seen couple of your videos. You have to be a genius to work with such high power in a small room full of flammable stuff without burning the house down.
I`m learning how to be an electrician and one of teachers showed this video during the lecture as an example of what not to do :D safe to say this guys succeeded, really entertaining videos
coming from a electric panel engineer background college wise, it's fun to see a Hansol PC Monitor (900 stands for 19 inch screen size) as there was no work in the panel industry in 1998 i went it work at a computer shop, and we sold those monitor. didn't realise they could handle such a punch,.... Nice to see old memories , and get smashed up the next second.
So much better than all the absolute mind numbing SHIT!!!! they put on them damn things on a Saturday and indeed any frigging night. I gave up having TV years ago. I aint paying a license for that garbage. And shows like the X factor, and soap operas are brainwashing society. Well done for making TVs entertaining..
+Richard Sandwell __ ikr -- heck, the internet is way more flexible - hence, watch what you want, and also, no more of them bloody annoying commercials every 5 minutes =] I agree with you
From a humble repair man / electrician you are fascinatingly dangerous. UHT has always been my main interest but sadly my brain couldnt do the complicated maths so i couldnt get in. I do experiment in small ways but you are awesome. I think you were Nikola Tesla in a previous life. great post
