good vid, but I don't think those lasers are 5mW, the green probably is >100mW and the red less than 80mW, if you bought them on internet the articles will put 5mW to avoid distribution problems and the labels too, I have years with the hobby of lasers pointers and I know enough about this, I say this from experience to share my pov. Edit jul 2024: recently I tested the 3 colors of laser 303, 405nm gives me 41mW, 532nm 62mW and drops to 48mW (is a bit unstable) and 650nm 144mW. the green obviously has some infrared light, with a filtrer final power loses about 10 to 5mW in my unit.
@@l4ncer2005 If you travel to Vietnam there is this market at Halong Bay, you can meet a French guy there named Bothakai Jinrei Le Bour who is selling 3.5w laser pointers such as Spyder 3 Arctic and powerful Imalent MS18 flashlights.
Exactly, and apparently some people (like the person in the video) seem to be absolutely oblivious to the fact that this is not 5mw and can be dangerous.
@@Magneticmondays yeah, but some have over expect 100mW although most cases are due to a greater amount of infrared light, it all depends on the diode and the crystal
i did a test with a sailing boat on which my friends where. I was not on ground but on the harbour. light was visible on the boat sail at approx 10 km (mesured on a map). No more a point, just a green halo. But visible.
Didn't that make you reconsider earth claimed curveture, how is it possible for the source to be visible with 10km distance where there has to be exactly 7.85m of curveture so it's impossible for the source of a height let's say 1.5-1.6 meters to be visible. Something to really consider. 🤫
The red is more focused on weapons and aiming, the green would be more for signals because its power is very noticeable, and the blue is currently the one that burns the most and can permanently ruin your eyesight.
No its not safe dont put it on your eyes it said 5mw but it really 100mw laser 20 time more than eye safe so be careful it can easily blind and burn things
