In this video I do a solo 30 hour camping and fishing mission in my little 4.9 meter boat while I partake in the nz lure masters online fishing competition.
I head out to a group of islands and find a sheltered area to setup for the night, I cook a big feed on the boat then set the tent up on the deck for the night. First thing in the morning I make a coffee then then we are straight into 12 hours of solid fishing.

FISHING GEAR USED:
Reel- Daiwa Sol 4000
Rod- Daiwa TD Black slugger 6-12kg
Softbaits- Daiwa Bait junkies
Jig heads - Daiwa jig heads

Epic session bro, and yes that island at the end does fire hard if you get the timing right, usually half slab of kahawai will get the big boys! Most of those islands are reserves with no permit for landing i thought, hopefully those that were camping were on the big island. Looking forward to day 2!! Chur

Yer just checked, no landing without permits and for good reason, same old thing a few ruin it for all. Might have to enter that comp next year, looks like fun

Good on you for giving it a crack, Frank. As you say, even though last year's comp single tamure winner was in the Hauraki (presumably Little or Great Barrier) it's really a Far North bonanza in terms of the snapper. though that country you fish looks like it should produce donkeys too. I've had visions of doing the overnight thing in my 4.65m tinny, but from what i've seen on youTube the thought of it is better than the actual experience!! 😁 Maybe on an offshore island beach is a better option, but not legal on all islands...

Yea bro that are I was fishing fires on it say apparently, I’ll definitely go back. Haha yea the small boat camping definitely looks better then it is but it’s still a good mission. Give it a go
