Swami ji I am listening to all your sessions/ audios diligently, every chapter, every verse. I am reading the Gita but I am unable to grasp it. You are helping me to understand. Kindly don't stop explaining the entire Bhagwad Gita. 🙏🙏
Thanks Lord Krishna, Thajur Ramkrishna Paramhansa, Swami vivekananda, Swami Sarvapriyanandji that we are listening to these sessions. अमृतम् अस्ति इदम्//
When he was talking about how it’s not about ethics but rather doing good and being unable to do so despite knowing what’s right I was thinking if the Swami had any knowledge about the Christian concept of original sin? Thanks very much for the videos!
51:24 multiplication of desires and satisfaction of them is the definition of happiness for worldly persons; for spiritual persons, transcending and removing desires is their happiness
Swamiji, having accepted you as my spiritual guru has given me direction and focus. Where do you answer the sishya questions. How and where can we communicate for answers at least once a week or so. Even if you were to club similar questions and answer them together for our benefit. Pranam guruji
36:45 thoughts shine and go! Why are we deluded? Ignorance! Atman is hidden by a primal ignorance. Is it hidden? Is it theory? No, it is not theory. I am Brahman, who has ignorance? How do I get ignorance? He's enjoying himself; 37:50 how does ignorance come?
53:49 no desires, no desiring work. all is Self. most of my actions are to fulfill my desires; that is how we think; get the money or do the work only; is it really the money? No. Spending money. Spend money for happiness. If you consider Self to be the limited being: that is what Vedanta attacks. The I must refer to Brahman, the witness consciousness, then thou shalt not suffer!
You must study this; there is only one ultimate message explained and repeated; only one Truth, however you must study because studying over a long time removes the problems of the mind. See it, see it now.
2nd: 54:00 Rishi Aurobindo says life is yoga; it is all for enlightenment all action ; even the rankest atheist is going their somehow ; when the enlightenment is achieved, then all actions are meant for it, so when it is done no more action is necessary. Wow wow all worldly knowledge is useless because knowledge of geography tells me geography and pleasure to know geography because I think someone in exam will praise etc. But this knowledge? The more notes, the more understanding, the more automatic happiness!!!!!!!
An answer (that I found in the PRACTICE OF BRAHMACHARYA book by Swami Sivananda) to the final question (asked at the end of this video) : Every human being is born multiple times as a human, slowly accumulating samskaras (tendencies based on thoughts) & vasanas (tendencies based on sense perceptions) in his subconscious and unconscious memory layers. But, in the human's very first incarnation as a human (must be an animal in an incarnation prior to that), the mind is silent and still and doesn't even know that it is capable of thinking (intellect). So, mind is all the time floating in the rich fruits from brahman (love, joy, peace, etc). Gradually the human discovers that the mind can think, and as time moves ahead (same and future incarnations), the mind gets addicted to thinking, due to which the tendencies would be accumulated in the subconscious memory. Even when the mind doesn't wanna think (wanna think -- intellectual mind), tendencies in the subconscious memory float into mind as the impulsive thoughts, thus keeping the mind almost always busy with the thinking activities. Due to this, mind loses access to brahman, and gradually mind forgets that brahman is it's true nature. All the desires arising in the mind are for 2 reasons (1) the mind discovered that thinking is a way to generate happiness and so desires more n more as old desires are achieved (2) the mind (aided by content in the unconscious memory) vaguely senses that it was in continuous bliss ages ago, but not in such state now, and to fill that void, the mind desires more n more. As an end result of all these actions, over many incarnations of the past and the current incarnation, the mind has totally forgotten that it is brahman in it's original nature. Reading spiritual content like AV or Sankhya philosophy or anything else gives only a theoretical clarity to the mind that it is actually brahman, but it will take many more years to get the practical clarity (enlightenment). This is the answer to that question "why I'm ignorant of my true nature". The universe (sat / existence appearing as gross bodies and subtle bodies, and chit / consciousness illumining / giving the opportunity to have experiences to mind / subtle bodies) is the work of the maya power of brahman... which we understood from AV talks by Sarva. So, to summarize... [A] the actual reason for mind to be ignorant of it's true nature (brahman) is : MAYA [B] and the actual reason for mind's loss of access to brahman : never ending addiction to THINKING. - Madhukiran
27:00 AT THE END, WHAT IS THE GOAL?ETHICS IS FOR SOMETHING ELSE: THE META MORAL. she doesnt know Essay by philosopher Susan Wolfe, best writer, first essay is: Moral Saints. There is a deep problem ethics, she writes.
But If the monks went out begging for food, how is that not depending on others ? It is contradictory. A mother of young children would depend on her husband to bring home money, we depend on others in many ways. Can you clarify please Swami ?
The basis is attachment here. A monk begging for food is not out of any expectation or attachment nor is he sure of getting food and rather its all the more directed to demolition of the I ego or अहं as we call it. But a mother or wife being dependent is quite mutual she cooks takes care of the household , raises kids and its quite transactional in nature.

1:08:18 if a scientist doesn't take pride in that, and is not a monk, Einstein etc. Or artist like Picasso, they add for people and ask not. Note this all down! Spirituality?
You are not the body. It doesn't belong to you. You don't own it. You didn’t make it. You don't own the elements from which the body is made. You have no control it. The body runs on its own, you don't run it. You have no proof to say you own it. How can you say it is my body? What is there mine about it? Do you have papers for it? Did you make the body? Do you own the materials out of which it is made? Does the body obey you? All the thousands of bio chemical processs going in the body down to the minutest cellular level are governed by nature, not you. " I am the body", this is an illusionary concept.
