I'm no archeologist, but I felt uneasy every time they brought out the skid steer. Or even roughly shoveling away at the dirt. If I knew there were dinosaur bones, I'd probably be a lot more gentle digging around.
@MossyNutz

Then you’d spend 6 months on one specimen making $200k when he’s dug out 15 in 6 months and make $2m. Efficiency makes profits.
@sergiorexgaming5339
@sergiorexgaming5339 Год назад
I agree with mossynutz, plus the location they dig at is extremely hard to dig at
@sergiorexgaming5339
@sergiorexgaming5339 Год назад
Plus believe it or not, it is rare for many fossils to be close to each other, because of scavengers, water currents, weathering etc.
@sergiorexgaming5339
@sergiorexgaming5339 Год назад
Also they have a short digging season. So they have to get it out before winter or it would be heavily damaged.

Actual paleontologists hate these people out there digging for a profit and the fact this is being televised is even worse

What a horrible way to excavate a fossil! There may have been a lot more there, but because of the brute force meathod of excavating, a lot is going to get destroyed. This is now way to do palaeontology.
@sergiorexgaming5339

If they do it slowly, they earn a lot less, it’ll take a lot more time. And since they would spend more time on it, they won’t have to to dig up other fossils that are being destroyed by the sun.

It's exactly how you do it. You obviously have no idea what you're spouting ..they have to remove overburdened to reach the fossil layer. Someone always standing there watching for any signs of other fossils ...they are some of the best to do it and have a team full of knowledge.

I found a crushed turtle and spent three months cleaning and reconstructing hundreds of tiny peices and the bigger ones into an unknown species estimated at 50 million years old It sits in the repository of the local museum It was so much fun

People are to much in a hurry these days. You need to learn how to do a real excavation and not use heavy machinery to rip away the landscape to find millions of year old delicate bones and fossils.

I believe I have found two dinosaur eggs and an artifact when I was gold prospecting. Where can I have them tested? Or can I send you all some pictures for possible visual confirmation. Thank you for your awesome show.

I wish they had more on their scientific team. They would be able to make more money if they had a more scientific team. They are definitely doing a great job, but a professional that knows about geological layers would help them a lot!

These guys work with some of the best Paleontologist and Institutes in the world. Guys like Clayton have been in the field so long nobody reads the Hell Creek formations better. Not sure how you came up with this thought ..but surely you have not done much research or understand how much knowledge is put into this team. They're contributing and have already contributed so much to the science. Paleontology is endlessly thankful for these teams
