This was Pathfinder Tour's "Leeky Pot" railtour on 28th May 1994. 31110+31185 at one end, 31145+31302 at the other! All of which are now scrapped. Priceless footage.
Nice thanks for the upload;) shame i did 37075 on the line a month before it was due to open could of thrashed her up there:( maybe next year get the re-opened section in;)
As I recall the line had been out of use for some years. Three major railtour operators (the BLS, HRT and Pathfinder) jointly paid BR to clear the line of bushes and trees, and ran a tour each to Caldon Low, during April and May 1994. Then it went out of use again.
I think, from reading about it at the time, it started from Bristol into Stoke then up to Cauldon Lowe. It would have gone up the single line towards Fenton Manor (you can just about see the track behind 'The Range') and on towards the former Milton Junction, crossing 'Abbey Crossing' just down from Birches Head school, through the old Milton and Endon stations, and then through Leekbrook Junction and down the Cauldon Lowe line towards (what are now the Lefarge) works at Cauldon Lowe. It says, after this, the journey went back to Ironbridge. You couldn't successfully do this now - the line is in a dreadful state (I did write poor then replaced with 'dreadful' as the underbridge in Fenton is flooded, the trackbed is a forest, part have fallen away and some stretches of rail between Leek Road and Milton have been stolen too.
its a shame they cant restore the tracks back from endon to stoke running threw milton birches head i remember the coal trains running threw bucknall and past my dads in joiners square good old days be awsome having trains run again carrying passengers
