This song has single handedly improved the quality of life for my 12 year old daughter. The lyrics have provided us with an opportunity for open discussion about mental health and dealing with anxiety, and my daughter uses them to remind her that she can utilize healthy coping skills and stop spiraling when she gets nervous. 🙏 Super grateful for this song.
This is my most favorite new 311 song that therapeutically changed me for the better since i heard the song Beyond the Grey Sky after a tornado ripped through my city. Ive been struggling with alcohol lately and this song gave me the absolute strength to kick its ass. ❤
So many songs on this album have moved me to tears. The past 3 years have been hell for me and I’d basically given up hope on ever being happy again. But this album, so much of it is like it was written just for me, it’s speaking to my pain and struggle, reminding me that I still have that light, that fight, and that positivity in me and I can make it. ❤️
This album kept my head just above the water of emotions that almost took me under as well. This song is what keeps me striving to be better for myself.
Perfect metaphor for the struggles I can find myself in as someone who faces social anxiety. If we want to do something in life, just have to buck up and face that mental block. Otherwise you exhaust yourself and waste time (sometimes years) trying to dodge the issue. The message really strikes home for me.
This hits home for me as I was diagnosed with panic disorder, severe anxiety and debilitating depression. This makes me happy. Nuff said. Ive loved 311 since music came out. Grassroots is a hard one to beat tho cuz its perfect 👌
@@keithballenger5560 Hey there 311 brother! "311 has Grassroots for ya mama!" You can definitely tell that the band began emphasising messages of overcoming struggles in the "Sterolithic" & "Mosaic" albums. Damn good to hear artists--especially one as bad a$$ as 311--making the world see that EVERYBODY needs mental health to go along with their physical but that certain stigmas can prevent help being sought or offered. Part of being well-rounded means a healthy dose of 311-therapy, preferably injected directly into the ear drums! May God bless the positivity of 311
This has to be one of the most beautiful lyric video's ever and this may be my favorite song from the album. Its a very therapedic and motivating song and I'd say just what I was needing!
I don’t care what anyone says, I like this song. And you can’t change my mind. I may not be a longtime 311 fan (bro I’m 14-) but my dad is. And that’s how I found them. He loves their music and I’m getting to where I like it. you can’t convince me this song is bad.
Hell yes, a video to an amazing song! This song really hit me hard when the album dropped, but for some very odd reason, all the #9 tracks on every album since the beginning have always had a higher level of deeper meaning to me! Odd, yes!! Mainly: GrassRoots, Use Of Time, Eons, This Too Shall Pass (Omaha Sessions), Two Drops In The Ocean, Too Late and Dodging Raindrops, just to name a few, but if only Universal Pulse had 9 tracks though, I was raped of my NINER!! Lol! Joking aside though, some of these songs are purely amazing and can put your inner self on a whole new level! Use Of Time (Transistor), is from beginning to end a Masterpiece, as well as Two Drops (Uplifter)!! Hope you enjoy my theory of Nines! Namaste to all!!
Been listening to you guys since the mid 90s you guys are so great seen y'all once in 2000 your music always lifts me up and I have been pretty low before. I go in for ECT tomorrow for treatment resistant depression I will be humming this one. Great lyrics video and amazing lyrics

Aside from Transistor this has been the best 311 record for me. I know errbody is different. But thank you Nix, P-nut,SA, and Chad.
BY FAR the best song on this album!!! Should have been the first one to be released. Ranks up there with Amber, Champagne, etc. Nothing against S.A.'s rapping skills, but the songs where Nick and S.A. kill it with the melodies like this one put the rest of their stuff to shame. They both have beautiful voices.
Always a go to when falling in the hole..been having to climb out alot lately unfortunately I know I'm not alone BUT I also know this song is helping somebody else as much as myself and that's a comfort in itself....Stay Positive!!
Even an official lyrics video can't convince me that at 01:13 they sing "ONLY FOR A MOMENT" as opposed to something like "LIGHT BULB MOMENT". Listen to it guys - even the syllables don't add up.
311 doesn’t care if you don’t like this song and I don’t care either. 311 best album in 20 years guys. Thanks for all the years of love and head bobbing see u at the Aragon . Rock the house!! Fan since 97
I’ve been listen to 311 for 19 years since I was 8. Far cry from Sound System. I want to hate this so bad....it sounds so poppy and like a washed up stoners desperate attempt to sell out, and I love it.
Im 311 and dont play this during the Atlanta show when it started RAINING! i know its probably because there is a pre set lighting show and what not but hell turn the lights off, think we'd giving Frenchmans Fuck? Nope.
I like this song, and I don't hate the more pop-sounding direction they're taking, but the mumble-esque part just...ugh. If SA had a smooth ass verse there instead, it would've been perfect.
It's probably the weaker of 311's newer songs over the years, the chord progression is super predictable and all, it feels like a different band here. But all respect, I like the album so far. It's the only one I haven't heard by them yet. It just feels like Five Seconds Of Summer or some Hollywood producer wrote this, that's all.
They just slapped some super cliche,OVERUSED lyrics together with their same old tired beat. This whole album is really disappointing. I've heard college bands that are way better than this and 311 has been around for decades!
