I just picked up an old husqvarna 3120K Racine Railroad Products Ultra Kut 2 grinding saw on offerup for $40. It has the 16" cutting wheel on it now but it also has the chainsaw bar oiler so I believe converting it to a chainsaw would be as simple as changing the belt sprocket it has now to the chain sprocket and replacing the cutting arm and wheel to a bar and chain. I've seen guys run 70" bars on these 3120 saws. This one was in rough cosmetic condition and wouldn't run but I put fuel mix in it and immediately noticed gas spraying out of the fuel line going in gas tank. Replaced the fuel line and it fired right up and runs very good. This thing is an absolute beast, 118cc and 9 horse power and it weighs 50 pounds. I cleaned all of the rust off and polished it up and now it looks real good. I was going to paint the exterior with a fresh coat of glossy orange but the petina this thing has going on looks tough like it means business so I left it as is. I made a custom K&N air filter for it so I can run it with the top cover off because the huge carb, huge cylinder head and huge muffler all look very nice after I polished them up so I don't want them covered up. I have an echo pb8010 backpack blower with the big 80cc engine and the engine on this 3120K makes the 8010 look small.
Man oh man I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I might be getting my biggest break as a small tree service. And if I nail this gig I’m ordering a 3120 straightaway.
That is one huge tree. Nice job. I thought the one we did yesterday was big with a 40” bar on my buddy’s old ass Stihl using every inch of the bar. I cleaned it up on the ground with my Husqvarna 395XP and a 28” bar cutting from both sides which the Husqvarna handled with ease. I think I made a Husqvarna believer out of my buddy between the 395XP and my 550XP mark 2. Our tree service is much smaller than yours but we are growing fast.
Cant believe how judgemental people are and quick to point fingers at faults of daily operation. They need to appreciate the video as the title says. Gentlemen its 120cc saw. Thats what the video is about.
Nope as long as a saw is from the big three (Stihl, Husqvarna or Jonsered) it's a good saw almost guaranteed. Hell all my protective clothing is from Husqvarna and i still like using a Stihl saw when i get the chance, they're both great saws.
Erik C - I almost feel like I know you. Stihl makes great small saws, Huskies are great big saws, and the Erik I knew would have tossed a Jonsered out of the tree.
I hitched hiked into this country with nothing but a hand bag and the American dream slept outdoors for seven years rode in the back of other people's trucks now I own mine own business blessed of Jesus with a skill to make 4-8 dollar a minute, don't be fooled the steps of a good man is ordered of the lord
You probably dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother recently xD
Don't be fooled by the "key board warriors "out there These 3120 xp saws are polished and ported breath and cut tremendously well in Large wood 5 to 8 foot in diameter as for the price $ 1,400 that's right polished/ported/exhaust and oh yeah that's Canadian currency so some shopping around make calls scour the net but don't be fooled by some one who can't afford the top of line equipment, these people are green and it shows on there sleeves
Here is what they say I will cut it with a two foot bar ,here is eight foot material Watch "3120 XP 60 inch bar titanium" on RU-vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9edXXmdIWro.html
Maybe you need a mill, a miller, and time, to maintain and operate the equipment for a very difficult process. Huge mill needed for 60" log. Then you need expertise in processing the wood. Not saying it couldn't be fun.
Many times in residential areas mills will not take wood that was grown next to houses. Because people have a tendency to tie clothes lines nail things into them. It can ruin the Mills blades.

All that money you paid for a chainsaw you should have saved &spent the same amount of money and bought a mill instead of wasting all those cuts you could have spent an afternoon milling that whole slab. set the mill up on the property and milled that whole stick. Start cutting all those limbs in six and 10 Footers even if they curve 6 inch 8 inch and 10 inch branches leads limbs whatever you want to call them buy a trailer but I'm on the trailer and take them to a location when you don't have tree work to do you can Mill all those branches and sell them to cabinet makers
While I'll agree the tree should be milled into some serious lumber, flooring Etc. No one has an 80'' portable mill and the 250,000 dollar truck to move this imaginary mill or the 150,000 loader to load the 7' and 11' footers since you always cut a foot longer than what you want in the end. Yes, you could use the limbs but after cutting, milling, air and kiln drying, you will lose money.
Yeah, except mills that slab near 80” are portable so a decent fork loader could load up one slab at a time. Dudes wasted around $20k through sheer ignorance.
