Hey! Thanks for the shout out when you were reading comments. It’s fun to hear your own words acknowledged and read out loud on a podcast. Appreciate all your efforts and insights. Keep up the good work!
Madsen is good enough to challenge Malachi and make him have to work to win the starting job. Ultimately, if Malachi can't win the job that says more about him not being worth the 5 star hype. Madsen is a good QB but if you want to be a G5 representative in the college football playoff you need to do better than him, and if Malachi isn't better that says a lot. Malachi looked amazing in the spring game so if he doesn't start it's not for lack of arm talent but coming down to not grasping the offensive system IMO.
I wish we had BYU back on. I love/hate that rivalry. It was the greatest day/week/month/year after beating those punks. Sigh. Really stinks that we lost the last game against them. Oh well. Just glad that they didn't get a bowl game last year.
That’s guys for reading my comment. I think your podcast is absolute awesome and one of BSU’s issues is visibility and who’s talking about them. Ever since we got on ESPN’s shit list, no one hypes up BSU. Prayer, Ballgame & BNN are great but non of them are local homers who truly love the team, it’s just thier job and they have other loyalties. Love your podcast! Please keep em coming. Also, my last name is pronounced like the Portland Trail Blazers.
My parents, my sister, and I graduated from Boise State. My two brothers graduated from Idaho. It would be amazing to get that game going again. Lots of trash talk.
JD is often on the 365Sports RU-vid channel, and I really like their work. They're a Baylor-centric & Big12 podcast/Radio program and they have national-level guests, so I'd be watching the rumor mill there. I wonder if JD could have it in his new BSU contact (theoretical ) to keep a percentage of money donated since BSU can't pay him P4 money. But money may not be the most important variable. Also, I'd love Idaho on the schedule on a regular basis. Question: Would Shirts & Skins podcast and BSU fans at large prefer to be on P4 and end up like UCF, BYU, Cincy, or be the G5 power that gets into the CFP consistently and stays in the national mindshare.
Easy question and answer: always want to be in the top level of college football. Not just for your home schedule but also for those great media rights checks so your coaches aren't constantly being poached.
There may have been something lacking in Nelson. However the talent is definaetly there. So, Koetter will have to nurse him along and not let him start and have problems running the offense. That could destroy his confidence. Wait till he's ready.
I had this terrible dream last night (really). Boise State was down 21 to 14 at half time against Geaorgia Southern. I woke up before the second half. If anyone came in on my dream at half time let me know the final. By the way Jeanty took it to house on the first play of the game.
Head scratcher; Broncos have one of the worst defenses in memory and Dickey turns around and hires the defensive coordinator ad the head coach. Just sayin'. Hope it all works out.
The two things you can't deny are Danielson won the MW conference when that outcome was in serious doubt. He's also wicked cheap for what his position pays at 90% of other respectable football programs. Otherwise, I agree with everything you've said 💯%.
Hate to say, but JD is as good as gone. He's making good money, but doubling it at his age is creating generational wealth. Add to that, that it's a school he has a history with. In fact, it may be an easier job at twice the salary. He would be foolish not to take it.
@thequintanashow5058 JD is 44 years old. $1m a year which will only grow each year. Invested properly for 20 years would create a financial legacy for generations.
Mark Moss undersold my 'schedule Idaho' opinion. Go back and listen to your Prater episode. No need to take my word alone. BSU has had 11 years of declining or stagnant season ticket sales. Certainly that coincides with Pete leaving as well as the ramp in cost. But I think the athletic director would stem that decline by building and maintaining regional rivalries. So I don't see why BSU plays Georgia Southern or UTEP for out of conference games when they could be playing Idaho or Idaho St. Nobody will travel to obscure destinations, nor are those exciting opponents.
There are plenty of alumni from those all 3 ID universities in the Treasure valley. There are even plenty of Washington St or Oregon St alums, or at least those fan bases are close enough to travel. So putting those four schools routinely on BSU's schedule should result in excellent fan attendance and blooming rivalries that will help the bottom line, selling out the home games. BOI has nonstop flight service to 26 destinations as far away as Atlanta. Give the fans another reason to attend and schedule schools for home-and-home games where it is convenient to travel. If the athletic director has a slam dunk sellout every other year by putting Idaho on the schedule, why wouldn't that happen automatically?
@@johnreagan I agree. I have been saying the same thing. We could fill the stands for U of Idaho, we have played Idaho State. It would be great. I want basketball to schedule BYU. That would fill Xtra mile arena.
