My wife and I will be watching as long as it takes for you all to cross your wake . love your videos . hope you have the best of luck with your plans .
We feel for you, and we're keeping you in our thoughts and prayers! You will make it happen, we're sure! Demopolis was broken a couple days before we got through. We went through 2 propellers down the Mid West rivers from debris and we had a corner of using glass ripped up from the wind in Sarasota. We're rooting for you and know you'll make it! See you on the loop❤🙏🛥
Mid April through May at GTB is hard to beat. We spent four years there and now move between our slip near Nashville on Old Hickory and our slip at Joe Wheeler. Green Turtle is the halfway point for us, and we always stop. Our boat is currently in Nashville and we plan to be moving it toward Wheeler in March. This year, our plan is to wait out the Spring floods at Wheeler and head to the panhandle and West coast of Florida after Demopolis re-opens. Our boat is a Beneteau Oceania 370, SV Down Island ll, Best of luck, and we'll holler if we see you.
I've seen some of the looper videos and instagrams that are beautifully shot and edited and they deserve credit but they make it seem like every day is a sunny day and every stop along the way belongs in a travel magazine. You two have really been carving a niche of providing detailed helpful advice for people who are on the cusp of planning the big adventure - and sharing your stresses and successes equally. Congrats on providing such a helpful contribution to the Loop-o-sphere!
Thanks for the update, glad you're hanging in there with the looping plans! On the bright side, you've got all the way till Oct or even Nov to get back home on the northern Chesapeake.
You mentioned not being able to call BoatUS or SeaTow on the lower Mississippi. Well, I have news for you, you can't call them from Demopolis to Mobile either. My Yanmar died in Jackson, Alabama last April my 40 foot sailboat his still there 12 months later. Best of luck to you!
We live and boat in Florida and are likely starting the Loop in 2025. Boating in Florida is not an issue before July 15, or after October 15. Even then it is only hurricanes and heat, LOL.
Is it possible to pull the boat out the water have it driven around that area and put back in?? You may have already answered my question and I missed it idk?? Good luck on your adventure
By the time you double back, spend money on fuel, whats to say they dont get the lock repaired, and reopened, cant you dock the boat where you are,go meet your daughter, wait out the repairs,The Mississippi would be a navigational nightmare
