Great test buddy But you missed something. The tent did better than you thought, because usually it would be weighted down more with you inside and all your gear. So in that wind it did Bloody good.
Great test. Certainly good for confidence on long walks and high camps to know your main shelter has been tried and tested. I use the Terranova Solar 1 and MSR Elixir 2 but that tent looks good.
I still have great faith in my Crux Assault. Rock solid and has never leaked but in sub-zero temps the breathabilty is compromised. I’m presently using a Bonfus which is proving incredibly resilient and with good space.
ALOT of protection in that back garden, unconvinced when the wind changes direction and if out in the open up high. Think be ok if could get it buried into a decent ledge and in snow, prob what TNF designed it for, wouldn't fancy it out in the open. Edit - That said i've had a NF tent fail in the past so im probably biased on that slightly!
Excellent video...i would assume that a ground sheet protector would have given better protection for the groundsheet and taken the edge of....I have a similar model North Face tent...
