Harry absolutely gets full protection while in London to visit his father! He is not a working Royal and carries out no duties here so it is unnecessary at any other time. His own little tin pot army can protect him at home and if he comes to see his pals. 💕🕯

If the US is his home (as he claimed) why should us Brits pay for his security. No-one is forcing him to return to London (the greatest city on earth - I'm biased) so he has the choice of staying in California or maybe living in a nice 'safe' African country. I worked in London for nearly 20 years and lived there for nearly ten. Commuted to Surrey after late night work for more than ten, I feel I spent half my life walking alone near midnight, waiting at bus stops, sitting on stations, that late that it was almost always alone and I've never felt scared. But to give an idea of Nigeria, I moved to Cape Town, South Africa, arguably one of the most Westernised parts of Africa and my, now late, British husband said he'd never felt safe here. Anything can happen anywhere, but realistically spoken, if he feels safe in places like Nigeria and the Caribbean, he is taking to Michael to claim London is more dangerous.

I don't think any Home Sec, regardless of political affiliation, can have any input on the matter of Harry's security because the type he's after would be publicly funded and the rules of public accounting are pretty firm. I'm usually a moderate person but I struggle to find much sympathy for Harry and his security concerns. In part because he chose to leave the RF, chose to live in the US and chose to lead a high-profile life. He had enough money to leave and live a very good life on the money he already had, and there were ways he could have done so while retaining a decent puiblic image. It's been his choice to aim for more riches than he had and to be a divisive character. It's another example of Harry seemingly being unable to rationalise cause and effect and to accept responsibility when things don't go as he thought they would. The other reason I'm struggling to be sympathetic is that while I am of the view that Harry in genuinely paranoid and that his paranoia fuels his security fears, I also know that there are many, many people in both the UK and the US who are mentally unwell and suffer the same fear that someone or something will harm them. I'm sure they wish they could have someone to stand guard over them, but it's never going to happen and they have to cope with a life that I feel is probably far more distressing than Harry's.

Had it made as a Royal in England. Why the heck didn't he see this and stay there? He is just miserable everywhere and should get help.

It's ludicrous to attempt to build some underground bunker-type panic room in an area known for flooding and mudslides. I can't see any insurer signing off on such a project, and obtaining planning permission is likely to be a nightmare. However, it makes a good dodge for (washing) in that nobody can see it, and one could claim all sorts of expensive materials went into its manufacture. I do not understand why he feels he requires such heavy security measures. No one seems to be chasing after him. In fact, it seems many are repelled and endeavour to go in the opposite direction of wherever he is going.
